This was a really nice stay. The unit itself needs updating, but the overall experience was exactly what we needed for a couple nights in Winter Park.

Good weekend
The location was perfect. There was a River right behind our unit and it was so nice to sit on the balcony to listen to it. Check in was easy and just as explained in the directions. The pool is closed during the summer. I didn’t see that disclaimer when I booked, so be aware.

Really mean resident ruined our weekend
We have stayed at Hi Country before, but this time, the unit had a huge drain problem with shower and bath sinks and we had to shower at the rec center. Luckily, the rec center has a nice shower, but they were out of soap and dispensers had been removed from the wall, so it was looking a little disheveled. One of the "owners" or residents of the property was very rude to us when we were sitting out in the common area just having a glass of wine. It was really uncomfortable the rest of the weekend. My girls were trying to play in the front yard and this guy was not happy. He just kept going up and down the stairs looking disgusted. the kitchen was uber-small and I had a hard time making meals and there was a tiny fridge with no ice maker. We were supposed to have a 2bd 2 bath unit and it was only a one bath unit. There were no condiments (ie salt, pepper, spices) like in other units we have rented here. No wood for the fireplace. Kind of disappointing.

I like the river through property. Most units are River front and what a relaxing sound that never stops! Love it! It would be nice if roads were paved but, hasn't stop me from staying here for the last twenty five years and can't wait to get back!

Our particular unit needed some updating. The mattress on both beds need to be replaced. Overall, it was clean and cozy.

Need a new bed
For the most part everything was nice. But after a long day (or days) on the hill, a nice bed to sleep is essential. Our bed was lumpy, thin and slanted. The insulation in the walls must have been poor as well because our outer wall (right by the bed) was cold & that made sleeping that much more uncomfortable. I also feel that when we're spending over $300/night we should get more than one set of towels without being charged extra, especially since there were no towels available in the clubhouse. The icy walkway to the outdoor hot tub is a liability as well.

We are sorry to hear that the mattress was not comfortable Derek. If you let us know the complex and unit number, we can send this review to the owner so that they can look into getting a new mattress. All of our guests are welcome to grab additional towels at the front desk where you checked in at no extra cost. We will be sure to let the management company that takes care of the clubhouse about the icy walkway to the hot tub.

We have 3 relatively simple needs: WIFI, hot shower & a coffeemaker that works. In Hi Country Haus, none of those needs were met. It was our bad to not notice that there wasn't WIFI inculded, but silly us, we assumed in this day & age, that it would be. Even the front desk employee was surprised at it not having WIFI. Plus, the heat was impossible to regulate, so you either froze or roasted. Seriously, drop a $20 for a new coffeemaker that works! The place needs serious updating; definitely do NOT recommend, nor will we ever stay there again! Props to the management company for sending a text to the address of the property..however, the offsite management company is located a couple miles away, where you need to pick up and drop off the physical keys. No lockbox at the property. Pain in the neck...It was Room 315. Beds were OK, but the dogs in the building barked at all hours. Beware! Go elsewhere!

This property is old and needs some upgrading. Strange unpleasant mustiness as one enters the place. Telephone not working. Incorrect WiFi password given to me upon registration , so could not even use my laptop for internet services

You can’t beat the location as you’re in walking distance to everything in winter park. Condo was clean and cozy! Would recommend this place to anyone coming to the area!

Nice location
The pool hot tub and rec center were lovely. The condo was okay for what we needed. Outdated bathrooms but overall very comfortable.

Avoid Bldg 15, Unit 3
We have stayed at many, many places over the years in the Winter Park/Fraser area and this unit was by far the worst. I can't speak about other units but please stay clear of Bldg 15, Unit 3. Part of the ceiling light fell from the wall onto my friends head. No top sheets or pillow cases. Only two burners on the stove worked and they were the small ones. Carpet was extremely worn. Avocado Green bathroom (that's how old it is) And, a $20 additional charge at check in for towels (I guess it was in the fine print)! I hope the owner considers remodeling. It is way past its time.

Very disappointed with our stay this time!!!
Pretty disappointing stay this time. This is our second time visiting the Hi Country Haus. Before we stayed in a large condo in Building 5, which was very nice, clean and great view. This time, however, we stayed in Building 20, on the 3rd floor which was severely dated. The condo itself is very old and dated. The kitchen and restroom was in descent shape, but the rest was pretty terrible. The mattress on bed was collapsed and we kept rolling off. The sheets and comforter were filthy and covered in hair. Extra pillows and blankets were also covered in hair. The couch looked like something out of a frat house dorm room and needed to thrown out about 5 years ago. Basic items weren't stocked. There was only a single roll of toilet paper, no soap or anything in the bathroom. Overall the place is very dark. We ended up staying only 1 out of two nights that we paid for, of course no refund, and getting another, much nicer condo in Granby. The Pool facility, however, was nice. Overall pretty disappointed! Pretty sure we won't return here again.

Great, but one flaw.
Once we were able to get into our room, our stay was great! One big negative was we arrived at 6pm (1 hour after office close) and no one was there to help us. We weren’t told about this and weren’t given any number to call in this situation. We called all numbers we could find but we’re saved by 2 people also arriving late who had been to the property before, and knew another number for us to call. That number connected us to the right people to talk to to get our keys. If those people hadn’t have shown up by chance, we would have ended up paying to stay at another place for the night.

Enjoyed my stay
Went to visit family. For the area; the price was okay. Older building but they keep it nice. Kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils, dishes, and pans I needed. I would stay there again.

Close to restaurants and shops
The unit itself was large enough for us (3) with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, living, dining room and kitchen. The outside balcony was a descent size with a stream and mountain view. The unit is clean but worn and needs to be freshened up. I understand that this is in a ski town and the abuse it most get in season is probably bad but a little bit of upgrading and refreshing up in overdue.

Inspect first!
Walking in the first time, it looked very nice. However, as we settled in, we realized that the the sofa was totally warn out and the chairs were dirty - we didn't know where to sit. The mattresses were old and lumpy; they had multiple layers on "mattress toppers" that didn't help. No one slept well. This was unit 2121. After two nights, because of a maintenance issue we were moved to unit 2201. Things there were much better!

Very enjoyable stay in Winter Park
Cozy condo that we enjoyed thoroughly . Great indoor pool and hot tubs. Only thing that was bothersome was construction near the condo. Since we were there during the week we were being woken up early by all of the machinery . But that is only a temporary issue . We would certainly go back again .

Good for exploring the area
Good for what we needed. A bed and a pull out for the kids. The bed was a little uncomfortable but not horrid. A tad bit dark in the condo but overall a good stay for a good price.

Booked room for 6. The first room they gave us did not have sleeper sofa. Moved us to another unit. It had sleeper sofa, but only 1 bed in each BR. Was expecting twins. Luckily, only 4 ended up going on our trip. Would have been very hard getting 6 guys in this unit. But, it was clean, nice kitchen, and right on the LIFT line.

Great location... Exceeded expectations!
I was happily surprised with how convenient the location of this condo was, walking distance to local restaurants, bars and shops - especially the unit I rented in building 19. The condo itself was a bit dated, but it was nice and cozy. The kitchen was updated and had everything we needed. It was nice and clean. Only complaints: the board games in the condo were all missing a significant amount of pieces. Not that games are a requirement, but at that point, just throw them away, because it's just a tease. The bedding could use some updating as it's a bit worn and thin. No blow dryer, which I think is a must as it's pretty much standard in all rentals. It would also be nice if the balconies were cleared of ice/snow so they could actually be used. I did not have any interaction with the front desk except for at check-in and check-out. At check-in the lady was very helpful, told us everything we need to know about the community amenities and local attractions. At check-out, I just dropped off the keys and was good to go. The rec center was nice, new and I enjoyed the spa. Overall, my experience was terrific, and I would definitely stay here again!

We did not stay at hi country haus - we were moved to Timber Run very disappointed in Timber Run as Hi Country Haus had a new pool and rec area and we could have been right there on property with our other friends

Cozy location
The unit had a homey feel to it and came with all the promised amenities. The staff was great and the location was walkable to downtown Winter Park, as well as the lift bus to the resort. A little pricey for what it was though.

1 bd condo in Winter Park was fine
The check in was not so good. I had specifically requested #703 and was given #1403. We only went up there to see #703. The front desk was very nice to change it for us to the correct number.

Small kitchen and local channels only
The problem with this room was the small kitchen. If you like to cook do not stay in this room- very little counter space. The refrigerator is so small and cheap - normal size bottles do not fit. The heat is variable - works well sometimes but then is very cold. Also - the choice of tv channels is limited- they have direct tv but local channels only- no cable! Customer service is very bad- when we asked them if another room was available- they were not very understanding and told us the room layouts are all the same - which is not true! They were more interested in running our credit card then helping us out, It is sad because Hi Country Haus was once our favorite place to stay in Winter Park. Back then the customer was great! I feel this is no longer the case.

Great family weekend at Hi Country Haus!
We visit winter park a lot each winter but this was our favorite trip of all because the unit we rented was so nice. The new rec center really topped off the trip perfectly! We are going to go back to this property many times this winter.

Great service!
We left a Redbox DVD in the DVD player and the housekeeping staff returned it for us! We also left mittens & they agreed to hold them for us until our next trip up there. Fantastic service!!

Small, but nicely refurbished 1 bedroom condo. Great location in town, but very quiet. Has a nice fireplace and is next to the Frazier river.

At first we were booked in a non handicapped accessible room, when I called and asked they upgraded us to a three bedroom, 3 1/2 bath condo.

I was promised there would be wifi in my room, which is the reason I booked this hotel. Unfortunately wifi was only available in common areas, away from our building. Everything else was okay, though my girlfriend and I both got stuffy noses over the night which disappeared during the day. Maybe due to dust.

Perfect Vacation
This is the perfect place to stay in Winter Park. What an awesome suprise that we could see and here the beautiful creek that was running right by the complex. They had everything we needed for cooking expect food and spices. It was the most beautiful vacation.
