차이나타운과 리틀이태리에 가까운 호텔
이번에 뉴욕여행을 하면서 한국인분들 후기가 없길래 도전해보고 남깁니다. 일단 첫날 일정으로 월스트리트와 자유의 여신상을 구경하기 좋게 맨해튼 남쪽에 위치한 이 레온호텔을 예약했는데요, 생각외로 깔끔하고 지하철역하고도 가까워서(도보 5분) 캐리어 2개 끌고도 걸어서 갔습니다 좀 힘들긴 했지만 ㅎㅎ 방 뷰가 맨해튼브릿지 초입 부분이라 다리 자체가 보이는것은 아니었어도 뭔가 운치있고 분위기 있어서 좋았어요. 특이한점은 미국 호텔들은 대체로 샤워기 물 수압 조절이 안되고 찬물을 최대치로 세개 튼다음 온수로 넘어가는 시스템이었어요. 그래서 물은 항상 세게 틀어진 상태로 샤워를 했다는 ㅎㅎ 비누나 샴푸같은 어메너티들도 대체로 괜찮았어요. 지하 2층인가에 음료자판기와 얼음을 퍼갈수 있는 시스템이 있습니다.

The property was alot older in real life - both the lobby and the rooms. Aside that, it was a comfortable stay. Great location.

Despite a noisy neighborhood, room was super quiet. Really comfy bed, and pretty large for a Manhattan hotel room!

Great location, Beautiful Views
This was my second time staying at Leon Hotel, I loved the beautiful view of the Manhattan bridge. Perfect for pictures from your hotel window. Conveniently located, a couple of blocks from central China town, little Italy, and a 20-minute walk to the Financial District. The beds are comfy and the room is clean.

The top floor had a great view and a cute seat in the window that I wish I had a chance to sit in longer and just watch cars cross the Manhattan Bridge. Elevator was slow but it gets you there eventually.

The value of this stay was great. The staff was incredibly helpful from original booking, through checkin to checkout. The location is very convenient to accessing not only all of Manhattan but also easily getting over any of the 3 bridges to Brooklyn/Williamsburg. Room size was small but quiet with very comfortable bed which is all you really need in NYC. Value was as good as you can get. Would stay here again.

Wasn’t sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Family suite was great and two bedrooms and bathrooms was a plus. Very clean and smells very nice. The view of the Manhattan bridge was so nice we took plenty of pictures. We wanted to extend our stay but they were all booked.

Meh. Not horrendous, but not good either.
The location is good. Right on the edge of Chinatown, within blocks of good coffee, good donuts and yummy bagels. You can walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, downtown or Battery Park within 30 minutes. The view is spectacular, the Manhattan Bridge lets out right in front of the hotel and there is a gorgeous arch that the traffic come through. However, the hotel is dirty. They try to cover up the fact that it isn't very clean with air freshners. The AC smelled like cigarettes, I wore shoes in the room because the carpet was dirty. The bed was OK. The bathroom was passable, though the little shelf above the toilet was about to fall down the entire time. My biggest issue was the door lock (not the deadbolt). We told them it wasn't all the way screwed to the door and they didn’t take care of it while we were there. This isn't a "good" tier hotel, it's passable and that, simply because of the location. Please see the pictures.
Idk what this was, but the carpet was dirty and we wore shoes in the room.
The shelf was falling out of the wall.
The lock wasn't fastened to the door securely.
Filthy curtains.

The furniture in Bathroom was a little bit damaged and the light of the mirror dosn‘t work. The service was really good.

We are a family of 6 that was looking for a suite to fit all of us. Pros: the area was easily walkable to many attractions, The room was spacious. Rooms were clean and staff cleaned daily. The value for NY was excellent. Cons: Rooms were starting to look rundown. Sheets were pilling. Rug could use replacing. All in all, though i have stayed in better hotels with the family i would return to the LEON for its value and location.

Hotel itself was great, clean room, great service. No complaints inside at all, however the area around the hotel can be a bit sketchy late at night. We never had any issues exploring the city late at night but the walk back to the hotel from the subway was definitely a bit of a quicker one. We never had anything happen so I cant complain much but it was something to note if you plan on being out all night.

Do they pump noxious fragrance gas in the room?
My room had a nauseating air freshener fragrance that was so strong it gave me a headache. I notified the front desk too late in the evening so they couldn't move me to a different room. The solution by the very combative front desk guy was to come to the hallway, spray some other fragrant "deodorizer" spray, which he then gave to me to use in my room. I had to sleep with both the fan on and the bathroom fan on (the bathroom light is linked to the bathroom fan so I had to sleep with the light on). I also had to have the window open which only cracks about 3 inches, doesn't have a bug screen and faces the bridge so it was noisy too. The smell was so strong I couldn't sleep. I finally got up in the middle of the night to try to mask the smell with the spray the front desk guy gave me, which was a mixed fragrance nightmare and I had to sleep upside down on the bed so I could be as close to the open window as possible. When I got out of bed in the morning the original fragrance was as strong as ever. Once I left the hotel the smell clung to my clothes so even in fresh air I couldn't escape the nauseating quality. I'm really not that sensitive to smell, but this was like 3 Glade plugins on high in a pretty small room. Oddly there was no visible source for the smell, so I wonder if it's being pumped in from the vents? Artificial fragrance is carcinogenic and my head and sense of smell is totally off now. I'm really not joking nor am I exaggerating. Never staying there again.
