Don’t book. The photos are not current. The door to our room had clearly been kicked in at some time in the past, with a sloppy insecure repair. Signs at reception reflect that they clearly have problems with “locals”…perhaps a red light at the front of the building would be appropriate. I’ve never left a hotel after checking in…I did this time. Very surprising that Expedia would allow them to advertise…

I am 53 years old and have stayed in many hotels. I usually look for cheaper, economy hotels cuz I am only there to sleep usually going to casinos or races etc. I usually find something reasonable, nice, and clean. I didn't touch a thing in this one. Left without a shower, had to ask for a pillow, no smoke alarm, just wires, and had to come home feeling like I had to wash everything,everything.

I understood with the price that this wouldn't be the most updated property. However the upkeep was pretty bad with stains on the walls and ceilings, missing vents, and trash in the hallways. The smell of the hallways was pretty bad, but the room wasn't terrible. Surprisingly, these were not the worst parts of this hotel. The Island Inn is very unsafe. Staff are not there at night, and one of the nights staying there the police had to be called because multiple people were fighting in the hallway after midnight. My friends and I were all woken up to the fighting outside our door. The police were called by other guests. The officers had to knock on doors to find the people because there were no staff there to tell them where the problem was coming from! There is no secure entrances into the hotel, anyone can just walk in at any time of the night and cause a disturbance. Please spend the extra money somewhere else. I can deal with outdated, however safety is a HUGE concern here. If you choose to stay here, Good luck getting sleep with all the commotion at this hotel. This could all be solved of the hotel was staffed, and locked down properly.

Made a reservation online about 2 weeks before. Showed up the night of at about 12:00 a.m. and the office was locked, no one was there. There was a “sold out” sign on the door. There was also a number on the door that we called a couple times but no one answered. We ended up getting a a room at a different hotel just south. Very unimpressed.

Property was good. Staff was ok. When checked in the guy didn’t say 2 words to me. A lot of food options around but mainly fast food. Room was clean, comfortable. Really didn’t have an issue with anything just didn’t feel welcome on checkin.

The property was clean, but needs repairs and updating. Stayed in 2 rooms, refrigerator was not working and the heater in the other room was not working. They had little heaters plugged into wall, they did work very well.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Did not stay. Not even up to 1 star standard. TV was on when I got to the room which had a space heater going and was easily 90 degrees in the room. The unit heater/ac unit was unplugged and all the buttons were missing. I also noticed a small toy on the floor when I came in. Tried to turn the lamp on, but the bulb was missing. Went to check out the bathroom next. The cover to the overflow valve on the tub was barely hanging on. The ceiling had cracks all over, and the bathroom light was hanging down and missing a few parts. Really started to rethink my stay stay. Next I thought I'd check the mattresses. Found a curly hair on the pillow. Not sure if it was pubic, but either way. . . gross. Also found two bugs(alive) on the pillow. This was too much. I couldn't stay here. Next, I found out that I had been charged twice for the room. The manager claimed I didn't tell him that I had reserved a room ahead of time(I did) so I was charged for the initial reservation AND the new room charge. Unbelievable. After going back and forth for a bit he pulled $60 cash out of an envelope to reimburse me. Worst hotel experience of my life. Please, do yourself a favor. AVOID THE ISLAND INN !!!

This property was extremely dirty. The room key we were first given had somone else's stuff in it. The air conditioner did not work in the next room and there was mold in the fridge. The manager was extremely rude and was afraid to come talk to us. She threatened to call the cops on us over speaker phone that her staff was holding because he needed help, all i wanted was a refund and for her not to charge my card for the following day. Manager was horrible to her staff and would not help him when he asked. It took about an hour to get checked in and another hour to deal with getting a refund, manager kept us waiting because she didnt want to deal with the issue, I was getting extremely irritated by the end. If you care about your own wellbeing don't stay at this location.

Property was run down to paint on walls to toilet paper holder not being able to hold the roll. This place should be closed. Lobby floor looks like it has not been cleaned in months.

Upon opening my room door, I was overwhelmed with the smell of cigarette smoke. I had to ask for another room. The man at the front desk was accommodating and gave me another room. Unfortunately, the bed I was laying in, the sheets were stained so I moved to the other one and it too, was stained. As I was just about to fall asleep, someone tried to open my door. I opened it, and evidently the room I was given was double booked. The rooms are worn down, the carpet is filthy, and most channels on the tv weren’t on or if they were, you couldn’t read out what you were watching either because the tv is old or service is bad. Will never be back. I know you get what you pay for but having a clean room is not hard to do.

Extremely convenient
This hotel is ideal for the traveler who like me needs to stop for the night and keep going. Nothing unnecessary and what is there is working as promised. There is no coffee machine not the microwave in the room (full size refrigerator though) however all I needed is clean bad, convenient location, working bathroom and parking right in front of my room. All of that was at y convenience. Plus the basic breakfast with no extras but all basics right there. Once again - very convenient place to stop.

Place was a dump, paint chipped walls, moldy and corroded tub and tiles. Someone actually pushed our door open and turned the light on while sleeping. Got up and left at 3 am

We were late for check-in by a couple hours. the gentleman at the desk was about as polite as I think anyone would have been in the situation. when we got to the room that had a "No Smoking" plaque on the door our nostrils were assaulted with the smell of cigarette smoke. it was 230 in the morning at this time and the hotel was absolutely full. There was no changing and we were exhausted. That is by far my biggest issue. Also, there appeared to be a blood stain on the sheet. It was really little and you could tell the sheet had been washed and this just didn't come out, so I don't think the sheets were dirty at all, just stained. There was a deadbolt on the door, but no kind of chain or flip thing. It's not a bad place to stay, but I don't think I would stay there again, especially not with my kids.
