We have stayed at this hotel every year for the past 4 years. We like it because of its location and amenities. But next year we will be choosing a different hotel. This one has become increasingly shabby with each visit and we couldn’t even get a cup of coffee after 10am.

Not the greatest part of town. But it has an up and coming area around it. The river view was good. A noisy street. I'll bet it's a beautiful area in the spring and summer. Loved the hotel and all the staff. Would definitely go back!!!!

The elevator in the lobby was out of commission and the elevator for parking deck was not working properly in that the doors almost slam shut. Our room fridge had a bad motor that kept us up late until we had to unplug it and risk it defrosting all over the carpet. Apparently, ownership is not attempting to make any fast repairs to the property. Staff at the front desk gave us some breakfast vouchers for the noise. Bar and restaurant staff were excellent as well. Overall, an econolodge would be in better shape than this hotel.

Pretty bad experience
1. Toilet was not flushed! 2. Thermostat did not work. 3. No desk lamp = no accesible power. Had to move furniture and crawl under a dark desk for power. 4.Shampoo dispenser was broken and did not work. 5. Bottle tag that said 'free water' was on the desk; but no water.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when I requested a change to a room with a bathroom that had grab bars. Also, free access to a computer was great in helping me look up some necessary information before my trip.

BETTER TAKE EXTRA MONEY TO STAY HERE!!!!!!!
Room was clean but furniture saw better days.was charged 12 dollars a day for parking and they automatically took $50 in case i wanted breakfast. (Which i did not)These two things were a HUGE TURN OFF and will affect me choosing this location again.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. One gentleman, a U.S. Army veteran working the check in desk was very engaging and informative about the hotel and the area and all staff were equally as helpful and kind.

The questions asked and answered in this survey have nothing to do with the primary goal of staying in hotel. For me the primary goal is to sleep. And, that is something that I didn't get a lot of. The environmental system in my room was terrible. I'm not usually a light sleeper, but this thing woke me up several times during my stay. It would kick on then go off, then on again, then off again. I thought, at one point to get up and turn it off. Nope, not possible. It is set! I don't think I'll be staying with you again.

What a view!
Jackie was friendly and helpful when we checked in. The room smelled of cigarettes when we first walked in. Maybe it just gets in the carpet from other travelers . Not as strong this morning. It was a little cold but we couldn’t get the thermostat to stay where we wanted; we were a bit chilly. The beds were nice and comfy! We had a concert right outside our window!!! That was awesome! We woke up to a fabulous view!!! Overall it was a great experience.

Plenty to see and do here
Lots of things to see and eat on Capital Street—the public library had a great free program on local history when I was there; Pies and Pints and Ellen’s ice cream were delicious; Taylor’s Books has coffee, local art works for sale, gifts, and books, of course. Dem 2 Brothers on the West Side has excellent bbq and delicious WV hot dogs. The Capitol Market has fresh local produce and everything you need for a picnic. Purple Moon on Quarrier is an upscale secondhand store with some real bargains. Take a walk down Virginia and admire some beautiful houses. The WV Cultural Center on the State House grounds is worth seeing.

Nice walkable area (15 min to convention center). Very friendly staff. Convenient on site parking garage. Rooms were average, dirty bed skirts (ick!) few amenities, faulty shower. I'd stay again using a discount but not at full price.

Great location but needs updating
Location on the river is very nice and convenient to downtown. Staff was friendly and hotel was maintained but very much in need of updating. Furniture was old and beaten up. Coach was stained and old. Pull out sofa mattress was old with numerous stains. Mattresses were old and worn out and not very comfortable. A/C units take up a lot of space in the room and are a little loud.

Nice hotel and well furnished. My only complaint would be that the tv volume was muffled and it was hard to turn up the sound.
