I had read the reviews on here and trusted them. Fortunately they were accurate. The owners were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is spotless. I mean it really is extremely clean. It was quiet at night so I would have got a good night's sleep, if having young kids, plus CV19 hadn't reprogrammed my sleep anyway...
Parking was convenient, round the back. There are restaurants/pubs fairly nearby if you want to walk to them, or you can get a cab in Birmingham pretty easily. I walked up the road to a curry house which was fine.
Style wise it's certainly distinctive and overall is sort of a cross between a B&B and an hotel. I had a drink in the bar, served by the owner, but they don't do food (apart from breakfast) apparently, or not on that Saturday anyway. I just wanted a bacon butty for breakfast so can't comment on the 'full English'. Would stay there again, definitely.
