We had a decent stay at the Regien Ottoman Hotel. The hotel is walking distance to many main attractions, like Hagia Sofia, Topkapi-palace and the Galata tower. The hotel is clean, the room was spacious (deluxe) and the standard of the room was great. The cleanliness of the hotel was great, and our designated housekeeper Mustafa, was so sweet, helpful and professional and always left our room in a pristine condition! Getting airport transport was also easy and the receptionists were polite and helpful. The service at the restaurant was also very good.
However, we had a few setbacks at the hotel which is the reason why we are not giving an excellent rating. We both struggled falling asleep if we went early to bed, and struggled to sleep in if we fell asleep late because we could hear absolutely everything from the hallway. Furthermore, we paid extra for breakfast which I would discourage other visitors from doing. Buying breakfast outside is both cheaper and much better than the hotel breakfast, which was very simple. It was decent but nothing remarkable. And they played the same playlist every single day, quite loud, so once we sat down to eat we just wanted to hurry up and leave. Since we were here on our only holiday week during 2022, we expected the ability to sleep whenever we wanted and a good hotel breakfast (especially when we paid extra).
