Fantastic Location and Views!
Stayed two nights in Suite #30. By far the best room in the house! Loved the private balcony overlooking the ocean. Saw bald eagles and people beach combing. Nice easy walk to the beach from the property. Beautiful landscaped grounds, amazing and friendly hosts. Can say any negatives about the place. The shared kitchen is big plus Dinning and living room are spacious. Gas grille was a plus as we cooked freshly caught halibut there. Highly recommend this place. We will be back!!

The Inn is lovely, the views are breathtaking and so is that ocean sound. The hospitality is second to none as they ensured I was comfortable and taken care of. The hot tub was magical when you couple it with the view. Just what you need to relax!

We absolutely LOVED how it felt very homey. It didnt feel hotel-like at all. It was amazing and to wake up and have a gorgeous view. The only thing was that maybe have another fire pit and to maybe put a canopy over the hot tub incase it rains, which in our case it did. But it was fabulpus and we will definitely visit again!

Beautiful, quiet property w expansive ocean views
First trip after COVID started, and we decided on Alaska (hesitantly). We stayed at Ocean House based on reviews and photos. We had Suite 4, which was beautiful and exactly as pictured. The ocean view was extraordinary and downright inspiring, and the room furnishings were beautiful and cozy. Perfect for a couple looking for ultimate privacy. The owner communicated promptly with us by text with check-in instructions and a door code, so it was no contact (we were actually a little disappointed, hoping to connect with others after being on social lockdown for months, but I think with this being a condo type property, this is probably what they always do.) Due to COVID, there was also no housekeeping service. Wasn’t a big deal as we were only there for 2 nights, and the things we needed were supplied. Note that there are a number of stairs to climb to access certain rooms (#4 included) from the exterior entry (we had a couple of really heavy bags so this made checking in a bit of a struggle, but that’s my fault for overpacking- just be aware!) Despite being isolated (again, something I think most others would really enjoy- especially those on a romantic trip- but I was there with only my 8 year old son, so definitely a different vibe!), we thought the room was absolutely lovely and would go back again and stay at this property if ever in Homer. Close enough to Homer Spit and to town, and easy to find with GPS just off main highway. Recommended.

Ocean House Condos
The facilities were immaculate and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, the living room has an electric fireplace that looks nearly like a real fire. The hot tub was always ready and the temperature comfortable. The views are Alaska stunning The location was convenient close to the spit, Safeway & several nice restaurants. The weekend farmers market is an easy walk. I highly recommend Ocean House****+

location was great, bathroom lighting was too bright, had to remove bulbs, kitchen did not have enough light and could not figure out how to turn on fireplace, no instructions anywhere. upstairs bedroom was hot and downstairs bedroom was missing a screen so bugs came in.

Thanks for your input. Sorry your stay wasn’t as wonderful as we would like for it to be. We will work on adding an extra fan and more instructions. There are some inside door but I can see how a guest might not look there.

Beautiful setting by the water . Quiet. Rooms nicely decorated and comfy. Had a problem with a barking dog-got it immediately fixed. Only concerns: found the wine glasses hidden away-dusty,dirty unusable; I thought the bathroom looked clean but wasn’t-I have a great sense of smell and thought about some bleach!

I am so sorry you had issues during your stay. They will be rectified. We do use bleach when cleaning bathrooms perhaps more is in order as far as glasses I wish you had let us know I’m sure they weren’t used by prior guests and may have gotten dusty in cabinet we would have fixed any issues had you let us know about them😊

Spectacular ocean view from our room. We really enjoyed our stay at the ocean house. Rooms were beautifully decorated and bed very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer!

refrigeratot makes too much noise, sound can be a problem if you have a noisy neighbor overall location and quality of stay is very good! i would come back for sure

Nice Inn great view
I booked this hotel based on the pictures and I was not disappointed. Driving to it you might think oh no but then walk around to the back and you'll love the view. The rooms are really cute, clean and the beds were great.

Beautiful view!
Ocean House was the perfect place to stay for our 3 night visit to Homer. The rooms are rather small. So we used one bedroom for sleeping and one for our luggage and clothing. The extra sink in the bedroom was very helpful. Parking was very convenient and the view was spectacular!

"Beautiful Get Away, Beautiful Town, Great People”
The Ocean House is a fantastic place to stay while in Homer. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. The beds are especially nice. The deck is new, big and provides warming sun most of the day since it faces South. Very clean rooms with beds you don't want to leave in the morning. The Kitchen in our condo had everything needed to prepare homemade meals. With quality seafood so easy to get locally, you can save money and eat well with no fuss.. There are two high quality gas grills that do a great job on King Crab. The Ocean House is also conveniently located just off the spit so access to the grocery and downtown is easy. If you are planning an extended stay or overnight in Homer, you should consider the Ocean House. You will not be disappointed.

Great place in Homer!
This is a small charming hotel right on the water of Katchemak Bay. The rooms are decorated individually with charming furniture, the bed was very comfortable, and the views across the bay are perfect. Very pleasant hot tub with views across the bay and the Homer spit. Nice reception and check in. A great place to stay!

Fantastic place to stay in Homer!
Extremely comfortable, we didn't want to leave the room! We had juvenile eagles right at the bluff of the property, a great fireplace in our room and a hot tub to relax in while watching the tide roll in and out!, I would highly recommend for a fantastic stay!

Homer Retreat
This was our first (not last) visit to Homer and we could not have picked a better place to stay. The owners are on site and they are very helpful. You truly feel like family. If you come to Homer you will not find a better place to stay.

My husband and I had the pleasure of a little get away and were lucky enough to catch the Ocean House Inn during its last weekend of the season. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend at a place that was tastefully decorated, immaculately clean with the owners's parents closing out the season for them while the grandkids got back to school. The people we encountered were friendly and helpful contributing to the overall positive experience as weekend guests. We will certainly makes this a yearly get away at the end of the summer season which is our favorite time of year. I already recommeded the place with an easy ride to the spit to eat excellent food at Capatain Patties with whale watching a a part of the eating experience.

Lovely inn on the ocean
We needed a place for a short overnight before heading to the airport in the early morning. We didn't need an ocean view. The room was very clean, well decorated, and a great night sleep on a king-size bed.

Homer Ocean Side Inn Review
We went during off season so got a cheaper rate than normal. We stayed 2 nights and it was very enjoyable. It's very close to the spit and downtown (we drove everywhere and were there in minutes). Even though there were 5 rooms in our building we didn't hear anyone else except from outside in the yard. Too often hotels have paper thin walls and you can hear kids running down the halls talking or screaming, this was very quiet. We stayed in a room with a king bed and it was very comfortable, it even had a memory foam cover that was 2 inches thick, I slept like a dead man. It is right on the beach and they have a hot tub so you can relax and stare out over the bay. They don't serve breakfast because they aren't a B&B or a bigger hotel, I'm not complaining but this site said to include amenities. We ate out anyway so this wasn't a concern for us. The room was very clean and you could tell when you walked in it had been cleaned recently. We had a slight problem with our reservation but the owner fixed it immediately and was very friendly about it. If I go back to Homer I will definitely consider staying there again if the price is right.

Love that the room was right on the beach. Hated that the fence was higher than the beach chairs so when sitting outside we could not see the beach. TV had limited channels. Bed was comfortable and the view from the fence was amazing.

Beautiful Location
This was a really pleasant stay for a couple of days. From a staff perspective this is a non-traditional place. They only have office ours from 4-6pm. Other than that we never saw them. I got the impression that it's run by a family that has other jobs as well. But they were extremely nice and we had everything we needed. The location is really lovely with a great view of the ocean and a couple of hot tubs to sit in while you look at it. The rooms were clean and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying on Homer.

Lovely spot overlooking the ocean
We stayed just one night but enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable as was the bed. The bathroom was spacious and spotless. The room decor was very nice and appeared to be recently updated. The property overlooks the ocean and there are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view. Don't judge this hotel by its rustic tired exterior. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, spotless and well appointed. We especially liked the fact that this hotel is not located on the spit and is away from the traffic. A bit hard to find so call for directions. Highly recommended.

Comfortable enough but surprised !
3 nights in Sea Otter Room. Lawn was kept nice and hot tub and fire pit were available. Room is small with way too many pillows which you get creative stacking somewhere but basically get in the way. The bed did have a pillow topper, on top of a VERY soft mattress which made it feel like a " jello" bed. If you need anything close to firm, I would not advise. "Housekeeping" consists of emptying your garbage and replacing your towel.....that's it. Your bed is not made, the bugs which fly in the bathroom window ( because there is no screen) are not cleaned up, no new toiletries, ( you get one small bar of soap for sink and shower, plus one very large ( Costco size) shampoo bottle in corner of shower) . If you use the wine glasses, coffee mugs or drink tumblers they are not cleaned or replaced. After the second day I asked the teen at the front desk what's up she replied " you only get light house keeping but I'll wash those if you want" WOW... not exactly what i expected. Teen explained the owner wanted to spend time with her husband who recently returned from his oil rig job. Never met her. Beachview was gorgeous but understand the property butts up to a vertical seawall. To access the beach one needs to go down stairs, travel across neighbors property, climb down rocks to get to the sand/water. Not sure you want to do with young children, but play area ( swings ) are on the property. Room was quiet and plenty of hot water for your shower.

Great place to stay while in Homer. Very nice rooms, stunning views of the Homer Spit and bay. Plenty of bald eagles right outside our room! Would absolutely stay here again if I ever return to Homer.

Quiet, comfy place next to the water
If we ever make it to Homer again, we will definitely stay here again. The property was very quiet. The owners left you alone, but we always knew they were just a phone call away. Sunny was very friendly and personable upon check-in. The black out shades and comfortable bed provided several nights of much needed deep slumber. They provide light housekeeping, which means they take your trash and towels daily. Even though we didn't have time for the jacuzzis, the property has two and they looked very inviting. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I highly recommend this place. Look forward to coming back again sometime.
