VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HYATT! No room available when we arrived at 1:00AM. Booked and paid for room through Expedia 2 mths prior to our stay on Feb 24 (night before our cruise) Called Hyatt to notify arriving after 11:00pm & was told they would make a note on my account. When we got there, front doors were locked & nobody was answering bell. We stood for 15 minutes until guests came down the stairs and let us in. fFont desk on 2nd level. a family with 2 kids, after waiting for their reserved room for an hour left very angry (they said they booked thru Hyatt direct 3 mths prior) Front desk girl said she didn’t have a reservation for me and had said the hotel had overbooked by dozens of people and all the hotels around were full. She tried to tell me it was because I booked thru a 3rd party (Expedia) and this happens all the time. I have never had this issue before. Front desk called Expedia for us and we were on hold for about 45 min, where I just got a $294 CAD refund & $50 credit for my troubles. While on hold, Front desk called Hyatt at other end of the city, got us a room there-said all hotels in vicinity were full, & we were lucky. Another elderly lady showed up with a reservation & was told no rooms available. Another $40 in Uber, hotel $454usd, much more than the rate I had originally paid & finally got to bed at 3:00 in the morning only to check out by 11:00. We took the elderly lady with us as they had one more room left.
