Great location and staff services. The place is not new but very clean and with all the amenities you need for a couple days away from home

Great place to stay!
Great place to stay. Staff were so nice and friendly and the rooms motel backs on to the lake so great location. We look forward to staying there again.

The couple at reception were friendly and welcoming; we booked the garden view room but they upgraded us to the waterfront view room free of charge. The rooms were a bit outdated but were clean and comfortable. The property was close to other convenient amentities such as cafes and shops, and there was parking on-side. Would stay there again.

Average
The location next to the lake is fantastic with beautiful views and a little jetty out the back for a spot of fishing, but it's also next to the main road which makes it fairly noisy during rush hour. Service was very friendly and accommodating, but the room is very dated (originally from the 1970s probably) with a few random features modernised, most probably because they had to be. Bed was old and well worn and not that comfortable, but it was okay for one night.

The location is excellent. It is absolute waterfront and in easy walking distance of pubs, clubs, restaurants and shopping. There are some lovely walks you can do and the staff were very welcoming and excellent in their suggestions of places to go and see in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Being 10 yards from the river and getting the breeze off the water really makes this motel.The RSL has just been renovated and the food is good

Lovely location with water views. Close to shops, hotel and newly refurbished RSL. Microwave in room and bar b q to borrow. Very congenial hosts. Really enjoyed our stay. Swansea is a very friendly town with all amenities. We couldn’t have done better. Thanks to all.

Thank you for taking your time to write a review - as advised in our room brochures hair dye will damage linen etc and damages must be paid for if one chooses to dye hair while staying in hotels/motels etc - wishing you happy travels in the future and no damage to others property

We had a comfortable two days at the Black Swan & the owners/proprietors were very accommodating. Nothing too much trouble for them.

Very noisy off the main highway bed was uncomfortable and I don’t believe the sheets had been changed . Old fan and air con need replacing but cleaning them would be a start .

Our standard rooms are roadside and we also offer waterfront at a higher rate - as for your comment on the sheets this is highly offensive - as one can see from all our reviews we have a extremely high standard - cannot understand why you did not make comment to the office staff - fans are cleaned on a regular basis may need some repainting but are always clean - hope you have more success with travels in the future and find enjoyment in life

Old but clean
Lovely people but the motel was very old but clean. The bed cover could do with a wash. The room was quite cramped, but the bed was comfortable. No wifi which is unusual these days.

On the Edge of the Lake
This is a budget motel, but is extremely clean and has everything you need for a short stay. It is on the edge of the Lake and the owners have been thoughtful to put tables and seating out there. The motel itself is quite old, but does have all the amenities that more upmarket motels/hotels offer. This was my second stay here, will stay again and would definitely recommend.

Nice hotel on waterfront
Nice waterfront hotel close to Lake Macquarie, shops pubs and beaches. Slightly old-fashioned, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities, bar fridge and microwave.

Old fashioned motel on the river
I liked this motel ...not as modern as some , but very clean, on the river and a short walk to the club, pub and shops..friendly hosts..I will be back

A good budget hotel
The place was clean, with pleasant staff at reception and with a very outlook over the water. The room was basic, quite old in its fittings but the shower was good, the TV worked fine, the bed was comfortable so it had all I needed for a one night stay. While at $125 a night it wasn't cheap, it was still a lot less expensive than many of the other options and so i think was pretty good value.

Friendly motel by the water.
My brother and I cycled in, and we were offered an extra room to store our bicycles. In the morning when we left, the staff were kind enough to help us with finding a pump and rag to maintain our bikes, and some friendly advice about local eateries and cycle routes.

Great location
Couldn't get a better location - on the water and close to all amenities. Room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

clean, tidy and well priced
surprised at how quiet it was in the room and how nice the grass area is next to the water with picnic tables etc, we walked over and dropped the kayak straight in and explored for a few hours. easy walk to the rsl club for dinner and the tourist information is opposite the motel. yes its an older style motel but its clean and has all you need for a relaxing comfortable stay

felt well taken care of
An older property which the owners/managers have embraced resulting in an unique stay rather than an commercialised 'off the plan' overpriced resort style property which are popping up everywhere. The cleanliness and working with the existing features without it looking daggy would have been a challenge and they pulled it off brilliantly. Husband and wife very hospitable and make you feel very much at home, going out of their way to help show you the room and parking etc. while making small talk relevant to the clients - BRILLIANT JOB guys - you are in the right profession

Won't be back
Really it was just a stop over between our holiday travels, you only get what you pay for, never again. The whole area wasn't nice, poor choice on our part.
