Your choice to remain anonymous does not cover the fact that you didn't stay with us and therefore your review is invalid. You supplied a Debit card number which is not able to be used to secure your booking, in addition your desired check in time was outside our allowable time, yes it does say that later may be available by arrangement. Arrangement means that you phone and ask not take it as granted, In addition leaving threatening and abusive messages on our answering machine does not encourage me to go out of my way to help you. I hope you were able to find accommodation that suited your approach.

Thank you Mike and Mary, glad you enjoyed your time away from home in Ballarat. The dusty window sills are as a result of the ploughing opposite, sorry that they are a feature of your stay. as ever when showing you through I ask that if you let us now if there is anything that you are concerned about or need, you left Sunday morning and tell me on Wednesday night that you didn't think breakfast was adequate, a bit late to give me the chance to rectify the situation, did the 4 serves of Vegemite not count? The washbasin is authentic, didn't ever have chains on it , once again if to was an issue on Saturday, not much I can do about it down to my attention on Wednesday We follow the standard regarding breakfast from the Australian B& B association, needed more all you had to do was say, I notice you didn't use them all anyway. Perhaps in future you could be more clear about special needs in the space required.

Ron, Thank you for your review, in defence a combination of two weeks of bad weather and ill health have led to the garden not being maintained as it usually is, this is currently being rectified. When showing you through both the Carriage and the Signal Box I did ask that if you were concerned about anything you advise me during your stay - had you done so that would have given me the opportunity to rectify the situation or have you and your friends relocated to something you would be happier with.

Dan, unfortunately we were always doomed to fail. Your booking was for the Signal Box although you wanted the Governors Carriage, a number of communications all via email followed, check in times were questioned even though they are clearly displayed on the website. On arrival your partner was aggressive continuously raising her voice and threatening to post videos on social media as she believed there had been a breakdown in communication. Given that communication was via email I do not see how this could be the case. A security system allows this encounter to be revisited demonstrating aggression which I do not need to tolerate thus a refund was immediately given to you before departure.

Thank you for your review, I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. Our policy has always been to respond to your booking once the credit card has been processed, we ask for an arrival time in order that we can have the heating on for your arrival and as the website says so as we can be there to let you in to your accommodation. Unfortunately your reply came several hours after we replied and allowed just enough time for me to get to the property before your arrival. The floor heating operates year round and I would have had the split system on for you had time allowed. Again thanks for your feedback.

Tracy thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. It is unfortunate that you felt that the breakfast provisions fell short of your expectations. We provided a full loaf of bread for your stay and note that there was none remaining on your departure. Over the last 20 plus years I always say to guests that if you are concerned about anything or need anything during your stay please let me know either by phone or coming to reception, this would have allowed us the opportunity to provide additional provisions you felt you needed. We are quite clear about what we provide on the website, and contacted you a month before your stay regarding your requirements. Your reply three days beforehand simply specified your preference of bread and milk as requested. We are happy to provide additional items on request but a review a week later doesn't offer us the option.

Thank you so much for your review There is a DVD player under the TV but we cannot supply DVDs due to licensing laws TV reception is excellent but other electronic devices such as a laptop can affect and we have checked out wifi but it was not possible due to the distance from the tower Hope you see you in the future

Thank you for your comments. Sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We clearly state on all websites that there is only a continental breakfast and that there are no cooking facilities. There are a great number of dining alternatives to enjoy throughout the area. The scaffolding was removed three weeks ago following a complete repaint of the carriage and re coating of the roof, our apologies that you feel it detracted from your stay. Sadly the bath needs resurfacing following a lack of care by some guests. As you will have noticed it can not be taken out and re enamelled as it will not fit through the doors. Re- enamaling will need to be done in situ and during warmer weather. We are conscious of maintenance and it is an ongoing project. We ask all our guests to provide us the opportunity during their stay to address any concerns, clearly you felt your stay did not measure up and we would have been happy to arrange an alternative for you if given the chance.

Hello Phil, apparently your note of "no hard feelings" wasn't meant for me. I did explain that the carpet had been steamed cleaned, it was actually following a flood due to a recent storm. The carpet cleaner had fans on it for two days and advises that any remaining smell would have actually been the anti bacterial spray. When you phoned I did say I would come down and look for the remote control for the television, you said no but after your departure the remote was located between the bed and the head board, as you suggest left there by previous guests. I am surprised that you booked the Signal Box with its stairs given your wifes condition. Had I been given the opportunity to adjust the slab heating downstairs to the 25 degree setting you had the split system upstairs I would have done so, similarly an opportunity to relocate you would have been appreciated.
