I only stayed one night, but it was a good experience. The rooms are in the pub and there are shared facilities. Everything was very clean and neat and felt quite safe. Check-in was pretty casual and smooth. It's an older building and the rooms are basic, with the usual mini bar etc., the single beds were neat and clean. No AC, but I found that the fan was enough. No complaints here.

Didn’t realise it would have communal bathrooms. Should have thought about it as it is a 150 year old hotel. It was fine we adapted and thought it was an interesting little twist to make out road trip more memorable.

Otroligt lyhört vilket störde nattsömnen! Störande ljud från människor (prat, steg, på hotellet och/eller utanför), bilar, sängen, kylskåpet...! Ingen mörkläggning så solljus in i rummet ca 5.30. Gammalt och slitet förutom dusch/toalett (delad). Dock vänlig personal.

Simple lodgings but certainly up to par, the only issue I found was the hot water in the shared bathroom was very slow to heat and barely got more than luke warm but the location had incredible views of the river, fair rates, and a great menu at the attached restaurant.

I am 6 foot 5 inches and yes I should have read the description better but a single bunk bed was very uncomfortable In a small room with no aircon, I went downstairs for dinner after I checked in and had a shower ( in a share bathroom) I ordered there weekly special which was a rub eye on the bone. I was using the toilet for the next day and a half!!! I will not be in a hurry to go back there at all

The property was so clean and neat. Staff helpful and assisting. Plenty of provisions provided.

Proximity to middle of town is excellent. Great pub below, not too noisy which was surprising. The mattresses were pretty awful though. Actually, I don't think I have been stabbed by as many springs ever before! In all seriousness, we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel except the mattresses.

Over priced but shared bathroom modern and clean. Basic shared kitchenette. Clean linen on bunk beds. Despite non-smoking room everything smelt smoky. Woke up to someone smoking outside the room. Sink in room faulty.

2nights of fun
Great old colonial style pub,with the rooms upstairs..Wasn't put off by community bathrooms as they are private and very well maintained.Great shared kitchen area with seating.Old styled guest rooms,nothing fancy,but we'll presented and clean.Bar downstairs is wonderful,good atmosphere and really good food at nice pub prices.Excellent bar staff and lots of inside/outside seating.. Definately recommend staying here.Central in town to all the local shops..Loved it here.

The was dingy and smelt terrible. There was a pedestal fan for air flow. Window wouldn’t open. I realise that we stayed in peak holiday time, however $140 pn was overpriced.

This is an old pub so in consideration of that they have basic pub room accommodation rooms were clean had 1 fan per room no a/c shared bathroom once again not modern but clean and useable communal room with tv fridge table and chairs lounge and tea coffee cereal supplied $200 for 2 nights for 4 people yes definitely value for money and would stay again

Don't bother staying here. It's ancient. The door room doesn't close. (room10) . It's noisy, above the bar. Doors slam or don't close at all. Room 10 above the bar and at the front got all the noise. Have barely slept. Road sweeper at 4.30 am. And in July it's freezing. Definitely not a family room or hotel. Won't be staying again.

Midweek stay at Maclean Hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay until noisy patrons kept us awake talking and laughing loudly in common area until 3am As all your staff have departed for the night you have a serious problem with control of these noisy guests We would love to stay again but would not take the risk of this problem occurring again. .

first experience of backpackers situation
Because the scheduled accommodation was so bad I ended up looking for accommodation at Maclean hotel. It turned out to be a bunk bed in a small wooden room with no windows and 5 other guys apparently asleep even though karaoke was booming downstairs. When I opened the door the room was hot and stuffy and pitch black. There was no way I could stay there. I got a refund and with no alternatives left ended up sleeping in the car at an all night garage.

Smelly old rooms with shared bathrooms and common area. A strange man was in the ladies toilet and that really scared my friends mum

Leider sehr alte Zimmer, das Treppenhaus war recht dreckig und voller Spinnweben. Es könnte ein geniales Hotel/Hostel sein, aber dazu muss Arbeit rein gesteckt werden

Clean room - free internet doesnt connect in room
Friendly old pub. But 'free wifi' is not really true as such bad service u cant connect in your room. Also no cold tap available in our room - only hot. Plus ' breakfast included' was misleading. Did not include meal in dining room but lf serve cereal and toast in common room.

Room is pretty dirty. pillow is looks clean but smells old men didn't take shower.etc... Anyway I never ever stay in tha hotell even cheap.

Overpriced really
Booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children, showed up on the weekend to find we were getting a room with 2 bunk beds, changed room for a room with one double bed. Felt it was way overpriced for a room with just a bed in it with no other facilities in the room

no air conditioning but fan on room that plugged in the hallway. bathroom and showers were in the hallway along with shared fridge and kitchen facilities Got in at 930 pm-on the road at 630am . Not much more than a place to rest your head

Plumbing in toilet/shower area needed fixing. It was difficult to maintain a constant shower temperature. Sink tap in the room was missing handle.
