Wanted: upgrade in Scone
From a promising start our stay at this motel went somewhat downhill. While the room and bed were comfortable, there was a dark stain on the bedspread that raised questions about cleanliness. Like many motels of this era, the bathroom was very outdated and we had a problem with getting hot water at the sink. Only after running the shower did we get the hot water to come through to the sink. Ecofriendliness was disappointing - using single soaps, with plastic wrappers, and individual plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc is not the way things are done these days. Also, separate bins for recyclable material and general trash would have been nice.

The property in on the southern side of town and is in easy walking distance of the pubs, Coles and a few other shops. It was great to use as a base. The room was small but comfortable. The shower was tiny but the water pressure and temperature was fantastic after a long day out. The Queen bed was hard but comfy. Plenty of pillow. The room was very dusty and the floor gritty like it hadnt been cleaned for a while. Overall we were very happy and left feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Hot water took 3-4 mins to arrive at the tap - this is very poor and an expensive way to supply hot water. The fridge managed to freeze our milk and other breakfast items overnight. Rather a nuisance when we were trying to leave early!

Very spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. Everything in good working order and just a touch of class in the furnishings. I would gladly stay there again in future.

Overall a good stay, our only negatives was that the bathroom floor was slippery and the water took a while to heat up.

This motel is an excellent stay. Friendly staff, and most importantly a wonderful comfy bed and excellent cleanliness. Had a beautiful Chinese meal from a shop in town.

Friendly service and went above and beyond to accommodate me on a super busy weekend when our other booked accommodation was double booked.

We were asked to leave prior to check in? The mgmt here are delirious. A quick chain of events may add some context to the above statement. 1. Called office Friday evening prior (7:37pm) to confirm booking. Asked to call back the next day as the system was off. (strong preference for direct bookings not wotif) 2. Called Saturday (9:45am) (per request of mgmt) to confirm booking, tart confirmation received. 3. Arrived to check in at 6:09pm (we were late, this was our error). I apologised for this however was still shocked by the welcome. I thought this guy was joking. 4. We were met by an aggressive, unprofessional individual claiming my mate and I were suspicious (due to me calling to confirm room twice). We were disrespectful as my card declined (card is locked via CBA application to block online transactions). And I was not contactable (due to being on Glenbawn Dam all day fishing)? 5. We were asked to leave his establishment, we could not stop laughing at this person and of course where happy not to spend a single cent with this business. Scone and surrounds is full of wonderful Australian country folk hospitality so please head to the region but avoid this place.

Room was clean, bed comfy and room was warm. No hot water though. Tried mid afternoon, 9pm and 8am and it took about 3 mins to get luke warm and that was as hot as it got.

Everything I needed
Lovely, helpful staff (in particular Brontë and Sharon) made a flying one-night stay outstanding. Room had everything I needed, good WiFi, comfy bed and walking distance to everywhere.

WE booked late in the day and had miscalculated how long it would take us to get to Scone, hence we arrived well after office closing time. My communication with Airlie House was solely through email and we were able to convey to Airlie House that we would be arriving after hours. This was no trouble for them. They emailed us the details to obtain our room key which was very easy to follow. Loved the little attention to details. Especially as it was a cold night and the Tea/Coffee facilities also included Hot Chocolate..Yum. The room was spacious, neat and clean. Would definately recommend staying at Airlie House to anyone.
