We were surprised at how good the pub was considering the age of it. The floor creaked in our bedroom but the bed was good. We were in the room next to the bathroom so that was great

Nice character pub, friendly staff lacking in info a wee bit but they were pretty busy.. I did end up leaving at 2am though (luckily I was just passing thru and had that choice) surprisingly it wasn’t the general pub noise but a hellish unpredictable fridge/chiller/heat pump? (Some sort of motor) that kept me from getting any rest. Had a quick scroll to see it’s probably just that room? #3 What was the noise though? I’m in deep now.

Super Bargain
The Blue Pub offers very basic accommodation at exceptionally low prices. The room was bare bones. Bed, coat rack, and small wall shelf. There are shower and toilet facilities down the hall in individual cubicles. There is also a guest lounge area with a TV and kitchenette. My room was neat and clean. The room was not serviced daily. The common area is shared by the 14 guest rooms, but is rarely used by more than a couple of guests at a time. The common area is dated and is a clean up after yourself area, so it depends on the habits of the other guests.There is also access to a veranda that overlooks the large patio and street front. Parking is easy. Downstairs the Pub has a large bar area which was fairly busy most evenings. Located close to the Mt. Hutt ski area, I would stay here again. My wife would go for a more upscale hotel.

Petite chambre confortable, coin tranquille (un dimanche soir ). On entend parfois un peu ce qui se passe dans le pub si les clients sont bruyants, mais ce n'est pas trop dérangeant.

Right in town
This is a place for a quick stop over, very dated pub but has its own kind of appeal! Bed was comfortable & heating was very effective so long as your not expecting too much & your not expecting all the mod cons.

not a bab place to put ones head
the welcome was friendly and helpful the kitchen was clean and all that was needed, no complanits thankyou it was close to where i needed to be and it wasnt expensive nice clean room the shower took a while to heat up but what the hell little to be upset about

Cozy stay in Methven
You check-in IN the pub and one of the servers will proceed to give you a key and a tour. I stayed here for the night and couldn't complain. The room was basic: twin bed, heater, clothes rack. Bathrooms and showers are shared and coed. Walls are thin, but I still slept like a baby. WiFi is free in both the pub and hostel, but you need a little voucher with a code to login. It runs out after 200mb, so you'll need a few vouchers if you want WiFi for several hours (just ask and they're happy

great value with great location
the walls between rooms are very very thin so if you are a light sleeper bring precautions my room was very basic but adequate heater in room good plenty of hot water for showers

Nice enough place
Great food, friendly staff, very clean room & bathroom facilities. Was happily surprised by the kitchenette / common room area, which I haven't come across in many pub accommodation stays. However, if you want a good night's sleep, don't cheap-out as I did and get the single room. The bed was too short (and I'm not particularly tall), it was loose and squeaky and made a lot of noise every time I rolled, but worst of all, the single room is directly above the kitchen's fridges (or something). Quite frequently, a motor would kick in and cause the pane of glass in my window to vibrate. I think if I'd have been in any other room I'd have loved my stay at the Blue Pub. So do yourself a favour and get one of the double rooms, which are up the other end of the building away from the fridges (or whatever was making the noise).

Blue Pub
Basic but clean and functional accommodation and facilities. Bar and restaurant downstairs makes it handy to go to without needing to go outside in the cold. However, the noise from the bar can be heard upstairs.
