We stayed here before and loved it. The hotel itself is fabulous and the staff were great, but this time the rooms let us down. It is one of the most if not the most expensive place in LaConner so I expect a good night sleep. The room we booked turned out to have a musty smell so we asked to be moved if any others came available. One did, and that room was much nicer (very quaint and with a view of the channel) so even though it cost us more, we were grateful for the accommodation. However, when we lit the fireplace later in the evening it gave off a horrible smell that quickly filled the room so we had to shut it off and leave both the patio door and windows open for 15 minutes just to get rid of it. The my wife and I spent a very restless night on one of the hardest beds and worst/softest/flattest pillows ever: horrible combination that left our backs and necks sore. When we mentioned it to the front desk they were appropriately apologetic (as I said, the staff were great) but surprised as they told us it was a brand new bed. If so, hopefully it will soften over time (a lot) and they will get new pillows as well as fix the fireplace issue. What was supposed to be a nice and relaxing getaway overnight trip to beautiful LaConner left us very disappointed. Next time we will likely try one of the other hotels.

Read this review and the others before booking. The outward appearance is just a misrepresentation of the actual construction behind the walls and around the pipes. This property has structural flaws that let guests hear everything above or beside their room. Probably only the end rooms on the top 3rd floor are suitable for a couples getaway. The lower floors can hear every creaking step above due to poor construction. There is little that can be done to fix this. What can be done is change the sheet metal sided beds that create a kettle drum affect for you and your neighbors. You come to this property over other competitors for the view of the channel. But they cannot even keep the windows clean. Towels were limited (2) thin ones. Oh and housekeeping missed makeup stains and hair from past guests. The decor has not changed since early 1990’s. Well the kettle drum bed frame seemed newer so just a poor cheap choice by the owners. This hotel was slated to change hands the week after our visit. I hope the new owners can read this and improve at least the decor housekeeping maintenance. This hotel is not worth more than $100-120/night and that’s a shame. It’s located well for the touristy destination of La Conner. We were taken in by the pictures. Should have stayed at the wild Iris inn for our getaway.

Quiet, cozy and lovely property. Easy walk to lots of shopping and dining. Piano playing in the lobby is a nice touch on Friday night.

The room is dimly lit. Unable to read in front of the fireplace. No elevator notice until after checkin. Height of bathtub made entry extremely difficult. Breakfast has zero cooked items. All cold items.

We are sorry to hear that Our complimentary continental breakfast did not meet your expectations. We have had many guests enjoy our homemade granola, fresh-cut fruit, fresh-baked muffins, cut ham, cheese, and many other options. Our corner king room that you stayed in does have a shower/jacuzzi combo. We do have other king rooms that have a separate walk-in shower, so you do not have to step over the side of a jacuzzi tub to use the shower. We are staffed 24/7 to help our guests with any needs while they are here such as extra lighting or any other questions or concerns. As a small boutique hotel, we try to provide the best service we possibly can.

Besides the tastefully decorated & comfortable accommodations, the view from the balcony sets this property above others when you hear, see & smell the gorgeous waterfront canal with boats, the bridge, sunset & the bustling of the energy of the town right from your very own room. I will always check availability there first!

One of our favorite getaways! The rooms are beautiful and always super clean. The fireplace and jacuzzi tub made it super special. It is a little noisy at times (the upstairs guests were rearranging furniture at bedtime?!) but the charm & location were worth the lack of sound insulation.

Would love to go back!
Loved this place on the Channel with a small balcony to step outside and take a peek at the water. Saw a seal! It’s walkable to the very cute downtown. The continental breakfast is lovely. The staff was very nice and accommodating. And it’s close enough to Whidbey Island and North Cascades for things to do.

Relax and unwind!
Loved my stay…walking distance to restaurants, shopping, parking was secure and easy. The view from my room was very nice and the little balcony was nice to sit and sip a favorite beverage. I recommend Channel Lodge to anyone wanting a comfortable and pleasant stay.

It's always nice to visit LaConner and we have stayed at Channel Lodge before but were disappointed in the breakfast and the fact that they no longer offer the cookies and wine hour.

Thank you for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in La Conner! We do however offer complimentary cookies in the lobby from 3:00 pm until they are gone. The complimentary wine tasting is done over at Hellams Vineyard, we give coupons for this, but they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. As for the complimentary continental breakfast, we are sorry it did not meet your expectations we have lots of guests who enjoy the House made granola, fresh bakes muffins, fresh-cut fruit, and many other offerings. We do hope you stay with us again.

Our stay was fabulous. We enjoyed our balcony to watch the canoe races. All the boutiques were so fun to browse through. We loved being right on the canal.

Best hotel to stay at in the area. Everything is walkable, and beautiful. Right on the water with options for cruising the San Juan's right outside the hotel. Free parking, pleasant staff. Only downfall was no microwave in room but staff let me microwave some popcorn with their kitchen microwave. Definitely would stay again! Loved it.

Great Hotel in the Heart ❤️ of La Conner
The hotel is amazing. Our room was great, but it was too sunny and hot to enjoy the balcony that came with it. One of the front desk employees was extremely rude and sniffy. I stopped in when we arrived to grab a map from her and ask if it would be alright to park at the hotel, before check-in. She said as as stated above. It was okay to park at the hotel while we headed out for the day. This was great, as there’s very little parking available on first street. La Conner is a charming town and I do strongly recommend the hotel despite our trouble at the front desk.

Great spot to stay at.
Always a great place to stay. Especially when we get the Queen size corner room with a water view with jetted tub. Love the free breakfast upstairs.

With an Expedia booked room, they put us on the ground level at the North end of the building, next to a gravel parking lot. Room did have a fridge and microwave. Jacuzzi room; however, not allowed to use jets after 10pm.
