Our stay at Las Palmas Beach Hotel was the worst stays in a hotel that we’ve had in a while. It seems that the place is a resort of private villas that are rented out by residents. In any case, we checked in following a bad rain storm, and when we arrived, at dinner time, the restaurant had closed for the day, due to the storm. The resort looked deserted. We were told there was a restaurant outside the gate, walking distance from the hotel. We walked for about 15 minutes and found nothing open. We returned to our room to find that we had no hot water and dirty hand towels. We also had an A/C that we could not adjust. It had one setting and I think that was arctic blast. The office had already closed, so there was nobody to notify. The next morning we went for our included breakfast, before going diving. There was no sign of life at the restaurant when we arrived at the alleged opening time. We found only dirty tables with garbage and empty beer bottles on the bar and some of the tables. The office and restaurant were still closed when we were picked up for diving. When we returned, I told the woman at the front desk about our issues. She said she would speak to management. She said they had hot water issues, but they would check it. Nothing was ever handled for the three nights that we were there, except for the breakfast situation.
