The ‘hotel’ accommodation was of low quality, which made for a extremely unpleasant stay (e.g. toilet overflowed, water seeped through walls into room, shower thermostat broken so I was scolded by boiling water).
I did complain to the proprietor at the time, but although she tried to be sympathetic, her level of English/my level of Cantonese was insufficient to bring a satisfactory resolution (I was moved rooms, but both had the toilet issue, with the second having the additional shower problem).
