Property looks in need of some loving T&C. I didn’t manage to get inside the building despite trying in the morning and evening. There is a combination lock on the front door and I didn’t have the code. I won’t be going back here.

For the price of room we had en suite facilities, television, full kitchen use and a large sitting room on the ground floor with satellite tv. Our room had a sea view. The Norton is basically for contractors but for a one or two night stay it is ideal.

Was disgusting. Place was dirty and room was mould
Terrible hotel..not fit for staying. The room was disgusting. The place was dirty. The sheets weren't clean. My bathroom had holes in felling and water running down walls. Was checked in for 3 nights .only stayed one night. Hotel refused refund. But Expedia were fantastic and I got full refund. I would never recommend this hotel.

Still a good idea of having a self service type of place but has deteriorated since the last time I stayed. Bathrooms need a good good clean. Didn’t use the kitchen this time so can’t comment on this. Still good for the price but bathrooms really need cleaning

if you arrive after 10 pm it is difficult to get access to your room as there is no manned reception. I managed to get through a staff, after 3 phone calls. The room was equipped with a shower with no hot water and was not cleaned properly. The communal bathroom had hot water but was very dirty.

Friendly welcome
Lovely hotel when we arrived we were met by a lovely lady. Room was a decent size. The light on the side of the bed was broken. Also the was no tea or coffee provided in room only sachets of sugar. The people in the room next door were pretty noisy and kept slamming doors. But that can't Be helped. Other that that it was a nice stay

Carpet didn't even reach the skirting boards. Mugs were filthy Sink had hair in it. Toilet seat cracked and mended with sellotape. Carpet not hoovered Room was freezing

A forgotten hotel
I'm disabled and I had told the booking but they didn't pass it on but the hotel lady realised I couldn't climb 6 floors and put us on the first floor. The beds were so comfy that me and my hubby were asleep within minutes. The only snag was the shower it was a bit grime. But my hubby ànd I are seasoned youth hostellers so we were fine with all of it plus we were only there for 1 night

Wir waren dort, eigentlich um mein Dad in der Nr. 8 im Pflegeheim zu besuchen, leider starb er vor unserer Anreise. Wir haben das Beste daraus gemacht, Strandspaziergänge, nach Hartlepool u. Middelsbourgh mit Bahn reingefahren. Alles sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Norton Hotel
Overall, our stay was convenient and comfortable. We arrived late at night but still managed to enter the hotel and collect our keys easily. The room was a decent size with very comfortable beds.

Not A Bed And Breakfast
Expedia made it look like a bed and breakfast. But only if you are willing to share a kitchen and do it yourself. I must admit that the check in was unique to me as a first time user of these facilities. overall, I booked a room for a night and got a basic accommodation, but I cannot complain. I have already booked for 3 more nights at different points in the year. Looking forward to it.

There was no one there to receive us and no one to Answer the phone. Only come here if you are desperate for a cheap place and don't mind waiting around for service and also if you don't care how bad it is.

Basic, simple place on North Sea
The old saying, "You get what you pay for," is there for a reason. I want to rush to say, though, that we basically knew we weren't in for a luxury or even particularly nice place. We wanted to be on the North Sea; we were--literally across the street. We knew it was a hostel and would be basic; our point was money-saving more than luxury. Owner/manager was easily reached by phone if there were problems. I felt safe in the hotel, and we were glad to be able to get a twin room and not have to share with other people. We don't mind shared bathrooms. Owner is doing updating and remodeling, which I think promises to make this a more comfortable, welcoming place in time (and the price will probably go up). Owner was accommodating when we asked to have a room facing the ocean, something she didn't have to do. Others there were helpful (they knew how things worked because apparently they'd been there for a while). The hotel could be a beautiful place; it's probably 19th or early 20th century and seems to have been purpose-built for seaside holidays; I hope the current work being done will mean that it will get the facelift and care it deserves. (The new work one can see on the first floor looks extremely nice.)

A unique concept which works well
This is a self service hotel, which is a great concept. I do, however, think the hotel needs to be clearer about its positioning as self service. The first I knew of it I received a text from the hotel with instructions on how to get into the hotel, how to collect my key, and which room I was staying in. I did not see a single member of staff throughout my stay - this was not problematic for me, but some people like these comforts. The bed was very comfortable and the other people staying at the hotel were really nice. I was somewhat more of a hostel environment than a hotel - a self service kitchen, lounge/games area. It's good to stay if you just want to do your own thing. But if you are looking for a welcoming stay and you like to meet staff etc. then this is perhaps not for you.
