We are very disappointed to here of your experience. We are a lodge, and we offer simple, clean accommodations that are less than a mile off of the main road, in the middle of everything that the Lake of the Ozarks has to offer. We are not a Ritz or Holiday Inn, and our price reflects that.

Hello D, Thank you very much for your input. We strive to make every guest happy, and we would have been happy to move you to another room had you mentioned it to us. I just checked the tub and it's draining fine. I'm terribly sorry that you had a problem with it. The A/C unit is 8500btu, plenty of power to cool the room. The weather was unseasonably warm during your stay and that may have been cause for your discomfort.

Hopefully you were able to take advantage of our lakeside swimming pool and free non-motorized watercraft during your visit.

We constantly urge the Online Travel Agencies (OTA's) to advise travelers that our Guest Rooms do not have telephones or televisions, as this is unique in today's marketplace. You probably were not advised prior to booking that your Room Rate included use of our non-motorized watercraft, either. The OTAs control the content that you see when booking, and they want to sell you a room - price sells, so price is the primary info displayed to the shopper. We are what we are, and we don't try to sugar coat it. Honesty is our policy. We do turn on the ac in our units, with the exception of last minute bookings. The natural terrain of the Lake area does provide some steep stair situations. We're still working on that one.

We are a lakefront property that can attempt to control bugs, but can not eliminate them. We do not have televisions in our guest rooms, and we never have. Our online descriptions detail this fact, but this fact is not shown on the landing pages when people are shopping for hotel rooms - just the rate. We're in constant contact with the online travel agents to have them (they control what the client sees online) BE CERTAIN to inform interested parties that we do not have televisions in our guest rooms.

Hello Mike. Thank you very much for leaving your thoughts. The television issue is one that is ongoing with the online travel agents. We have never had televisions in our guest rooms, and we feel that this fact is critical for the online travel agents to inform potential customers of this. They control what the customer sees when they go online searching for a hotel. Our Property Description details that fact that we have no televisions in our guest rooms. It also lists the approximate square footage of each room type. We have many different sized rooms and would've been happy to show you alternative options.

Hello and thank you for your comment. I assure you that all of your linens were perfectly clean. The problem with the toilet has been resolved. Our rooms can tend to be damp, as we are a lakefront resort. As for the food service, we only do "Contract Meal Service", where we'll provide meal service to large enough groups, by contract. When our kitchen staff is present due to a contracted event, then our other guests benefit from their presence and have the OPTION of purchasing meals during their stay. Our staff is always trying to please our clients, and always willing to show you rooming options in the event of your dissatisfaction.

Thank you for staying with us. You happened to join us at a point in time when we were between two different "functions" at the Lodge, and therefore there were few, if any other guests during your stay. The room that you were in during your visit, as well as all of our other rooms have been thoroughly steam cleaned since your visit. We did have an issue with the dampness, as we have experienced an overabundance of rain the first several days of the month. We have since had many guests, all of whom have been satisfied. Kirkwood Lodge is not for everyone, but those who like it, love it.
