Wonderful stay
Super vacation in an elegant, beautiful sand clean spacious surrounding. Bedroom was very big, and spacious, and tastefully decorated..The house had an elegant subtle fragrance! Portia was very kind in offering great restaurant tips which we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommended!

The Beverly Hills of Durban
The Forest Manor B&B is an oasis by the sea. We arrived to a welcoming and hospitable staff who was more than accommodating to our every need. While the overall stay, the daily breakfast, the ambiance and location were more than we could ask, the bathroom was not 100% clean on arrival. Staff quickly remedied the matter and we were not the least bit inconvenienced. Would absolutely stay there again!!

They were so helpful and accommodating. We had problems with our rental car, so they secured us a taxi for our trip to the airport. This place was beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast and staff were wonderful.

Beautiful Guesthouse, close to beach & town centre
The guesthouse was very nice, great set up, felt very comfortable. Room was very spacious and clean. Service was fantastic and the facilities were great. About 10 mins walk to the beach and 30 to downtown uhlmaga. Would gladly stay again.

Fantastic BnB
The Forest Manor was fantastic. We booked the 2 bedroom family sweet (named Mikkwood). It was beautiful with great Air Con and a balcony. The pool was really nice. Breakfast was excellent and made to order and the WiFi was really strong. The best part of this hotel however was the staff. They were really helpful and let us keep the ro for a few hours longer due to a late flight out. The location is great, walk to the beach and a short drive/UBer to the Umhlanga village. I highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely Guest House
Such a lovely Guest House and super friendly staff! All the comforts of home. Located close to a trendy shopping and restaurant district and also very close to the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Das Guesthouse ist attraktiv gestaltet und bietet Parkplatz, kleinen Swimmingpool, schön ausgestattete Räume. Wir hatten ein "luxury room" gebucht, was sich als sehr kleines, enges Zimmer herausstellte, mit dem überhaupt nicht zufrieden waren. Die Managerin ließ uns wissen, dass "luxurious" gleichbedeutend sei mit "standard room", eine Aussage, die wir nicht nachvollziehen konnten. Die anderen - offenbar attraktiven - Zimmer seien "superior", und ein solches hatten wir nicht gebucht.Lage Wir fühlten uns betrogen, aber vielleicht stimmt ihre Aussage (?), dass das "luxury room" tatsächlich auch als "standard room" in SA gilt, allerdings haben wir diese Version auf unseren diversen Afrika-Besuchen noch nie kennengelernt.

Thank you for your honest review of our establishment. We apologise that you feel misinformed about the difference between our Luxury and Superior room types. Unfortunately this is the grading standard which is applied through our local hotel graders. We will investigate a more apt descriptive for these smaller rooms.

Everything about Forest Manor is well thought out to the guests every comfort and need throughout ones stay. Our room, White Seringa, was spacious, clean and had the comfort of a 5 star resort. No shortcuts have been taken and quality products are offered throughout- vanity kit, real coffee (instant for those who would like), robes, you name it. Absolute value for money - don’t think twice, just book!

A bit of a walk into the main centre , but taxis available . Beaches are much quieter this end . Hotel experience very pleasing and very helpful staff.

Very disappointing!
This is a beautiful property and very clean. We expected the service levels and guest experience to be amazing as this is a luxury accommodation with premium pricing. Unfortunately this was not the case. The shower tray in our bathroom was badly stained and urgently needed to be cleaned. One of the taps in the bathroom was loose and not fixed. The pool was not cleaned and we didn't feel comfortable to swim as we had a 3 year old toddler who could have ingested the floating debris. We were surprised that there was no iron in the rooms and we had to give our clothes to management to have their staff attend to it. We would have preferred to do our own ironing as some our clothes had very expensive fabrics. We were in South Africa to attend a wedding! We brought the condition of the bathroom to the attention of management. We were frankly surprised that the manger didn't bother to address us about what steps have been taken to attend to our complaints. It appears that some type of caustic agent was used to clean the shower tray but this did not completely remove the tar/mound. We have a little toddler and would have preferred a non toxic agent to have been used. We found the manager to be utterly rude! We would not return to this property and felt misled by the previous reviews as this was not our experience!

Good day Rusheed, I would like to apologize for the fact that you did not have a good experience at our establishment and if anyone offended you. We do not keep iron's and ironing boards in the rooms and usually one of the staff will take it to your room if you need to use it so I'm not sure why that did not happen. I will investigate the issue of the bath trays and have it seen too. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Once again I apologize that your stay with us was not enjoyable. Fabulous guesthouse
Forest Manor was an exceptional guesthouse. Our family suite was very spacious and the place was immaculate. The service was impeccable. We had a crisis the first night we were there and the staff was very accommodating in helping us to resolve it. When we returned to Durban a couple of weeks later, we cancelled our reservations at another hotel so we could stay at Forest Manor again. Many thanks to Donovan and his staff!!

Wir haben uns diese Unterkunft für eine Übernachtung ausgesucht um am nächsten Tag zum Flughafen zu fahren. Unterkunft liegt 26 Km vom Flughafen entfernt. 4 km entfernt gibt es diverse Restaurant und Geschäfte. Das Stadthaus ist riesig groß. Die Honey Moon Suite der Hammer!!! Durch das Hochsicherheitssystem ist man sicher.... aber fühlt man sich auch ein bisschen eingesperrt. Ansonsten empfehlenswert!
