When we checked in on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was about to close FOR THE WEEKEND. Nowhere did I read prior to making my reservation that the seasonal hours had changed, excluding access to the restaurant during our stay. We were told that if we wanted anything to eat or drink, there was a gas station about three miles down the road.
The carpet in our room had a huge stain and looked like it hadn't been cleaned anytime recently. The rocking chair was also stained and gross. I was afraid to place our belongings on it let alone sit in it. The microwave was stacked precariously on top of the mini-fridge which made a loud annoying sound every time it cycled, and the table/desk in the tiny room looked as if it was going to collapse from the weight of the items on top of it. Only one of the sleeping areas was directly heated.
The cars for the restaurant workers/other guests were parked right in front of the door to my unit, so I had to haul our belongings around the other vehicles to get them into our room.
We left in the middle of the night on our first night even though we'd paid for two, and ended our visit with my MTU college student prematurely.
Finally, I was told that the fee for my dog was going to be waived because I'd told the person who greeted me that she was rescued, but when I examined my receipt afterward, I was charged anyway.
