Had a nice 3 night fall stay. Not far from Huntsville for shops and restaurants and used as base to drive to Algonquin Park for rail trail biking. Thanks Bruce and Nicole!

Wunderbare Lage am See, äußerst freundliches Personal, ideale Bedingungen zum Schwimmen und Kanufahren. Nahe am algonquin Park gelegen (Reservation in der Hauptsaison unbedingt notwendig) und viele Restaurants und Läden in Huntsville vorhanden

Had a fabulous weekend! The owners were so accommodating. Beautiful spot on Pennisula Lake. The sunsets were amazing! Definitely planning on coming again. The property is right across the road from a fabulous restaurant. So convenient! Thank you so much Nicolle!

A beautiful lakefront property with a very comfortable, updated room. Sandy beach, dock, kayaks, paddle boats and lots of chairs to enjoy the view. Very clean. Excellent for our brief stay with lots of shopping and eating minutes away.

The setting by the lake, the large property, lots of open space, good swimming area, free use of kayaks and pedal boats. Great staff. Peaceful and quiet at night.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The staff were excellent and the property was ample in size and space Waterfront activities and barbecue were also available. Had a great time.

Very nice
We went for four days and were very happy with our stay. The room was quite nice and it was a comfy bed. The water front is so beautiful and peaceful. The staff were friendly and the shower was hot and strong. I would absolutely stay again.

Colonial Bay was the perfect place for us to stay while in town for a local triathlon race. The owners were super friendly and we enjoyed being able to sit by the lake and take out the paddleboards.

Beware!!! No visitors on the property, no Kids on the property and the owner can simply kick you out in the middle of your reservation if he doesn't like your face. I rarely write reviews but couldn't help myself this time. The whole weekend was completely ruined by the rudeness and horrible hospitality. We booked 4 rooms in total. 3 were booked under one name and one was booked by me the last moment. My friends who booked 3 rooms came earlier and were denied occupancy simply because they didn't mention 2 kids for each reservation even though the maximum occupancy for each room was 4 (2 queen beds). After a long battle I gave up my room for them and booked nearby hotel for 1 night (all that was left). The owner Bruce still kicked them out the next morning simply on the fact that he didn't like them. It's unheard of!! He refused any refund and just ask them to leave. So, the sad story was that 8 people including 4 kids were kicked out of paid accommodation for NOTHING!!! I've never been treated like that before and very frustrated. If I could give this motel -10, I would.

Hello Anna, Thank you for your comments. We are always happy to welcome guests to Colonial Bay and do our best to accommodate any unusual circumstances. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions and precautions, we have to enforce a strict limit on guests per room to ensure the safety of all our current and future guests. Arriving with additional guests over the agreed reservation number and over crowding, is not something we are ever comfortable with. Especially during these uncertain times with limitations on property capacity. We believe this gives everyone piece of mind and an enjoyable holiday during these stressful times. Hopefully, you will find another location that suits your family’s needs in the future.

We'll come again
We wanted to see the 'colours ', and visit Algonquin Park, a place we had regularly visited on Thanksgiving weekend when the kids were young. Now that we are past camping we looked for a place, and Colonial Bay seemed perfect. It was on a lake, close to the park , and not too costly. The kitchen allowed us to bring our own food which we always did as campers.

A great place to stay!
This facility is a small combination of hotel rooms and cottages run by a couple. We had a lovely stay and will go back when we are in the area. They understand the benefit of listing on hotels.com and treated us very well. The buildings are older but very well kept, with a full range of amenities. We asked for a second desk or work table and the owner brought it to our room immediately. There was a beach, nice lawn, picnic tables, barbecues, porches and chairs on the units and a fireplace complete with a log ready to go. Lots of love and care on the part of the owners evident everywhere.

The property was exactly what we expected/anticipated. It’s on a lake with plenty of water sport vessels for use on the lake. We specifically loved the mattresses. They were super comfortable. The owners/operators were very friendly which added to the experience.

A family run operation that impressed me. Beautiful location on Peninsula Lake with a sand-bottom beach and swimming area. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats are free to use by patrons, which we thought was a nice touch!

Guter Ausgangspunkt zum Algonquin NP.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer gebucht, die Cottages lagen direkt daneben mit Blick auf den See. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, eher etwas älteres Mobiliar, aber mit einem sehr bequemen Bett. Daneben verfügte das Zimmer über eine Küchenzeile mit Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle und Kaffeemaschine. Es gibt mit Sicherheit moderner Unterkünfte, aber es,war vollkommen ausreichend! Bruce, der Inhaber des Colonial Bay war sehr nett und hat uns sehr gute Tipps zum Besuch des Algonquin NP und zu Restaurants gegeben. Die Unterkunft liegt 33 km vom Westgate des Algonquin NP entfernt, nach Huntsville sind es 12 km. Wir würden die Unterkunft beim nächsten Trip nochmal buchen.

I was so surprised! The whole experience was excellent, room looks exactly like showing in the photos. staff was so friendly, and they provided us free canoe. Very nice hotel and good location.

Enjoyed our stay but could use some updating
We stayed in a room with two queen beds. The room was clean and well kept. The decor is very dated but we were okay with that. There were extra pillows which we liked. There is no air conditioning in the room but they do provide a fan. We were fine with the fan but in the middle of summer it might be too hot. The propery is nice and we made use of the canoe and paddle boat. Go to That Place by thr Lights restaurant in downtown Huntsville. You won't be disappointed.
