Decent rooms at an older facility but maintained in good condition. Use the stairs to walk down to Main Street with several solid restaurants. Breakfast was super basic with few options for protein. As with many motels, they are struggling with limited staff so be kind.

I loved being on the harbor and close to Cape Disappointment Park. The bed was super comfortable too!!! I will go again!!!

We stayed on the 4th of July. The staff was super friendly. The property was clean and had great atmosphere. I look forward to staying there again.

Worth a visits; canines welcome!
In light of the firework presentation and farmer's market paired with brilliant weather, we feel fortunate to have found a room in the inn! But fate smiled on us as we traveled to Ilwaco with our two labradors and Salt Hotel welcomed our four-legged companions -- yes, plural. The rooms were fairly basic and thankfully no carpet. The hot and cold taps must have been European as they were on the wrong side of the highway but once we figured that out, there were no more cold showers. Proximity to the marina walk was great and we were minutes from both the Cape Disappointment and the Seaview, a great place to find beach access. Salt's pub served savory food and had a fantastic Old Fashioned. And they are down the way from another great restaurant with local friendly service. If I had a complaint, it would be the noise. While Salt can't control impolite guests at 1:30am, perhaps there's some noise canceling headphones for an additional fee. ;-) Overall, it was personable, in spite of the post-covid handling of check in and out, but that didn't keep the owner from saying hello and even knowing our names. We'll be back.

Might have paid too much.
Definitely not as much as I expected for $250(can) a night. Check in lady was nice but she’s only there till 8:30 then gone till 11:00 am. Room #1 was very dim in our room, no bedside tables, bathroom was tiny, shower dripped so the last person had screwed it so tight I could barely get it on, fridge was noisy. The bed was very comfy, it was very quiet, and nice and close to the water. Nice little pub with decent food attached to the inn.

Our rates are higher on the weekends as we come into the busy season but we're sorry it didn't feel like a good value. We've passed along these notes to our maintenance team to remedy.

It is in a good location to have access to everything. This is our second stay and we find it easy to get to, etc. It is not easy to get in contact with a person at the Hotel and I would love for them to change to hand held shower heads. The ones they have are for really tall people.

Hi Diane, thanks so much for staying with us again! Sorry you found it hard to reach the front desk. We are always available by text msg and personal cell phone. There is someone onsite from 10am-6:30pm and checking VM. Can you specify how you were trying to reach the front desk, that would be very helpful for us to improve. When we're able to do shower renovations we'll certainly consider your request for hand held :)

The Salt rocks!
I had a very pleasant stay at the Salt. The room was small but quite comfortable, clean and cozy. The simple furnishings suited me just fine. Everything worked well: heat, lighting (appreciated lights over the bed), hot water, etc.The shower was on the smaller side, but adequate. I will be sure to book the Salt on my next trip to Ilwaco. Oh, and the Salt Bar was an excellent place for dinner!

Owners and managers are excellent to work with. They follow your every need. The room is cozy and adequate. Best of all you’re located in a beautiful fishing harbor. The Salt Inn may have the best cioppino ever! The whole site has so much character. We will go again.

The new vibe. This is a very comfortable small hotel that gets it's appeal from simplicity, not extravagance. The decor is simple, very functional. I have never stayed in a hotel so sound proofed, It is part of the port of Ilwaco which is busy with commercial and sport fishing. The inner courtyard is a nice place to hangout with a book or a drink. The pub has indoor and outdoor dining.

We loved it! Everything was so nice. They had courtesy texts giving us info before we arrived & we could respond with any questions or anything we needed. We felt very cared for. We do wish it were just a bit less expensive but so it goes.

Its perfect for a fishing town ! We stayed here for a trip on a tuna charter . It didnt have dressers or drawers anywhere but it was spacious enough to have our two bags against a wall and not feel cluttered . Comfy bed and chair and shower is small but clean and nice. The guys who have stayed in other fishing towns said it was very nice compared to other places theyve stayed for charters in other parts of the state . Defenitly recommend for a minimalist style of traveling. Not for a romantic or family get away. Children would be a no go for top floor. Closing the doors or slamming was enough to shake the top floor so if you have running energetic kids not really a good place for family outings.The stareway is steep as well . For quick get aways or planning to go on the charters it was perfect. It was all contactless checkin and out and that was super cool. Check in was at 3pm and they charged me for the rooms at 11am the day i was set to be there , that was a litle but of an issue. I wasnt prepared for that as i had to update a card , and was used to doing that at check in in other places. That was the only issue really i had was not having an option to update payment option befor they charged me. So had to call and update asap and that was easy thankfully. Make sure if you use a card to book the room but dont want that one actually charged, to update befor the day of check in or as soon as you get the first text message of instructions from the salt.

Das Hotel war super. Schöne Lage am Hafen von Ilwaco direkt über dem eigenem Pub und an an einer kleinen Ladengasse. Ich war zwei Nächte mit meiner Freundin da und der Aufenthalt war super. Mit dem Fahrzeug ist man auch in ein Paar Minuten am schönen Longbeach. Würde jederzeit wieder gehen!

Fine for a night!
It was a good place for an overnight stay! The room was clean I was able to check in early which I appreciated! I was there on a Saturday so it was loud from people/guests who were coming and going from the bar below! I would imagine it would’ve been less noisy if it were during the week!

Great place but i was near the stairway coming up to the second floor, heavy foot traffic had me looking for bigfoot during the night, other than that it was better than expected and would stay there again.

This is a wonderful property, recently updated. The rooms, beds and linens are great. Salt provided soap and shampoo from local soap maker (nice touch). Sadly, the pub wasn't open the night we were there, but it too looks terrific. A hidden gem - we will definitely stay again when in the area.

Simple clean motel. Room was comfortable and small bathroom had good water pressure and hot water :-). Someone else mentioned the showers heads being high and a bit hard to point down, which is true. The attached pub is awesome, both food and the staff.

It is a pretty basic room, and for what it is, it is pretty good. You have a queen bed, small fridge, microwave, and a small bath with shower. It is on the water, but it does not have a view of the water. There is no AC. For a one night stay, it'll do.

We enjoyed our stay at Salt. The room was clean and comfortable. The Salt Pub served us delicious food with excellent service. Loved being right on the marina.

I loved that they contacted us by text. So easy. I could have used a couple glasses (not just the coffee cups) and a small amount of paper towels or napkins near the coffee/fridge/microwave.
