It was good!
everything was good!! not too far from harbor, and there was cleaned but, It was very old hotel, ground floor was Pub, If Ur senstive, don't stay here, cos there is slightly noisy at night

So many doors and stairs to reach the room, like a maze. Felt like living in prison. Staff members didn’t like us for some reason, their facial expressions said it all. Not going to recommend anyone.

Never again
No reception area - no coat hangers - or hooks any where in room for coat or dressing gown - no shelves in room or bathroom - very loose toilet seat - both bedside lamp bulbs flashed. Wall socket loose and hanging off wall - where no head boards on single beds the large grimy dirty marks - sideboard sloped and items slid down. net curtain too short and had holes in them . main ceiling light loose. Wi-fi in-accessible. no tea towel to dry cups. Extension lead from one socket which was loose ? legal. No plug for hairdryer near a mirror. No Parking at hotel or in near vicinity without having to pay. 3 things in their favour 1. Clean white bed sheets. 2 clean white towels daily 3. good shower with hot water

De eigenaar was erg aardig. Verder lag overal tapijt, waren de badkamers etc oud. Alleen bier te krijgen en de bardames waren zeer onverschillig en ongeinteresseerd en vroegen tot 3 keer toe naar ID van de kinderen als ze een biertje bestelden. Na 3 dagen heb ik zelf om schone handdoeken gevraagd. Veel herrie van de kroeg

Noisy neighbours
Stayed 4 nights. Never slept comfortably one night. No through draft in extreme heat. Idiots always shouting until 2am or engines/alarms running round the side alley where we were put. Only given one flat pillow per person at first and bed never made/room never cleaned or bin emptied just towels changed once. Cheap and cheerful. But at £49 a night expected a certain level of service. Made to pay upfront before we even got to room even though payment was on hold with Expedia. Whole pub looks tired, dated and could do with a lick of paint. Think it just wants to keep “regular louts” happy. Shame.

good location is its only good point
found it to be grubby, in total need of a refurbishment, the only thing to say for it is clean sheets & towels. stuffy room, duvet should be thrown out, could not believe the state of it...think the mice must have had a good go at it. will definitely not be using this hotel again.

Ruined holiday
My wife partial partly disabled we enquired before hand the number of stairs to room we were told only12,not true 27 plus 500 yds to walk!! tea, coffee milk sugar never replenished, room not cleaned extractor fan in toilet not working (phooo) sink basin cracked =leaked ,the room was situated opposite two shops with lights illuminating our room ALL NIGHT.CURTAINS TO SHORT.Constant noise from pub down stairs until 12.30 AM. only ONE WINDOW COULD BE OPENED approx. 6" THE OTHER ONE WAS SEALED CLOSED.no fan available we had to leave one day early DUE TO TIREDNESS

All I can say is. Never again. Staff excellent. Understaffed. Had to ask for towels. Pillows. Coffee. No food available. Lack of staff. But of course. Cheap. No parking. Had to park in council case parks. Not cheap. Like I said NEVER AGAIN

Not good
Staff friendly. That’s about it. TV didn’t work nobody came to look at it. Room never cleaned the whole time I was there!!! Would never go back again!

Good budget accommodation
I stayed here last year it is a good no frills cheap hotel in a good location. The staff are always very welcoming kind and helpful. Don't expect 5 star accommodation for rates similar to a backpackers.

The Crown - Great value basic accommodation
This is great value 'basic' accommodation, no fuss and no frills. It's clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot and the staff are friendly. Breakfast can be purchased at an extra charge. If you like watch Sky Sports especially rugby then this is the place to go in Ryde. The beer is good and cheap, there is a large bar area and plenty of atmosphere. I have stayed here on several occasions and will look forward to staying again 😀

Winter break stay
Me and my friend had an enjoyable stay . It is a buzzing hotel in the evening which was good. Very good location but noisy neighbors who played music till late at night. The only problem was the shower was weak and no pressure and the windows were stiff beds were a bit springy.

Hotel is in the centre of the town
Very noisy, uncomfortable beds and did not cooperate with us in staying for half an hour more at checkout time.

Conveniently situated - nothing special
The room was clean, basic but comfortable. 2 light bulbs missing out of 3 and cupboard handles missing! Clean bathroom and hot water, complimentary tea and coffee.

Terrible. Window would not close. Bathroom door got jammed. Remote control for the TV. Didn't work properly, shower was dodgy. No where to put clothes.

Hotel in the centre for town
Great location for meeting friends visiting ryde, pub located underneath rooms. From the start of the visit, they was a mix up with the rooms. They didn't seemed not to bothered about it. Shown room which was very small for what I booked, said I booked three room and was told that I would have to stay in the double bed room. I was told that it will be changed in morning. In morning was told that there is no other room to move to. So was asked to stay in the room, which has a bed which could be split in to single beds. I was given the impression that i was being a inconvenience to them. Bed were hard and seem like they were on they last legs. My friends noticed that I have got some bites on me after I have slept there. Was going to mention it but I thought it would fall on death ears. Room was hot always but I had window open and heating off. Ensuite was very small and shower was not fully functioning. I will not be staying there again.

Bed bugs
Worst experience ever of staying in a hotel. Bed bug infestation. Totally ruined the whole trip. Maybe if the mattress wasn't so old, and got hoovered every so often, this might not of happened.

Awful hotel
AWFUL place to stay. Obviously not really bothered about guests. Room cramped, no hanging room for clothes, en suite has nowhere to put any personal item. Bed was like sleeping on springs with no wadding. Not very clean. Never ate at the hotel as the bar was not very clean either. Music going on till gone midnight, no chance of sleeping with the noise and terrible bed. Security very poor, the door for hotel guest did not close properly, so anyone could have come into the guest room area during the night. To be honest we could not wait to leave. My opinion this is a ZERO rating.

Not Good
Room very basic, Failed to tell me that a rave was booked for friday night in the function room. The room I was in was above it went on til 1am. Bathroom was terrible unable to use it as it looked so dirty Toilet was'nt much better. Never really saw any staff only down in the bar when it was open. I will not be staying there again.

Disappointing experience
Very disappointed from the overall experience. Staff was not available to facilitate us. The weather was extremely hot and there were no fans/air con available. Beds were uncomfortable and could not sleep all night !

Lovely staff in this tiring hotel
Other than one the staff were lovely, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The exception was the guy who was more interested in putting out his pub tables than the fact we were carrying heavy suit cases totally the opposite to our arrival when one of the bar staff insisted on carrying at least one of the cases to the room. The room is small and compact but clean, extra pillows were available on request and the shower is in need of repair but worked and was usuable. The bed was comfy with a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities with a decent sized tv with loads of freeview channels to watch. 24 hour access was available via a side door. On street parking was a bit of a nuisance but the lovely staff guide you on how to make the most of free parking when available. The downstairs pub is tired but the drinks are cheap and the Hotel is priced accordingly to all of the above. Breakfast isn't available until after 10 Mon-Sat and 12 on Sundays but there are good alternatives near by. Overall enjoyable stay but don't expect anything posh just practical with lovely people.

Basic - but very clean
This was a last minute booking due to a job interview and as it was Cowes week, there was little available so in truth I was not expecting luxurious accommodation. The room was a small, basic room, there were no frills, no shampoo, shower gel etc. It was, however, very clean and fresh. I was distrurbed during the night by the live karaoke and at closing time and was disappointed that there was no breakfast at all. I needed a place to sleep and that is exactly what I got. Nothing fancy - for a one night stay this isn't a problem, longer? I don't think so - the prospect of having to run across to the local weatherspoons for breakfast is not something I'd want to be repeating daily.

I stayed here 4 or 5 years ago and have to say that it has improved....I stayed in Room 1 Nice room with nice furniture and clean white linen on bed....Did not have any Bedside lamp and could do with a few hooks on back of doors ... Problem with door lock and key which I believe is now being looked into. All the Staff were Friendly at the Bar and Helpful...As I arrived late the night I was staying they allowed me to leave my Suitcase in a secure place for the day ahead. There is no breakfast however, for me I like that as I like to choose time etc when I am hungry and there are Plenty of places around for eating etc

No reception, keys collected from behnd the bar and given to cleaner on departure. Housekeeping was terrible, duvet was just thrown on bed and the cups NOT washed up or replaced. Although we were given 8 bars of soap during our 3 night stay???

Was basic
Had no parking facilities,no breakfast provided in hotel,got charged for the room but never got concent of me on checking in so therefore I had have them cash upon leaving so payed twice. I don't think they know what there doing.
