A comfortable and beautiful place, perfect to see Istanbul. The manager was so kind to upgrade my room to the one with the sea view and always available to help.

The kindness of Ms Sehima, the owner and the total staff is incredible and rare these days. Also the neighbourhood Balat / Fener is very interesting and beautifull. Public transport is in front of the hotel

Very clean Facility. The staff was wonderful. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Except that the cleaner didn’t change my bed sheets every day. Maybe the cleaner was overwhelmed by her workload and she forgot to change the sheets for 3 days. She did make the bed but the sheets remained the same.

If you wanted your sheets to be changed everyday, you should have told the housekeeper and she would have changed them. As you said it is a very clean facility. The hotel is clean and quaint, with a delicious breakfast buffet and a nice restaurant. It is in a great location to walk around in the historic UNESCO area of Fener and Balat. Our room was small, but had a lovely view of the golden horn. The pillows were great too!

Sadly we were just there one night and had to leave before breakfast. But we wanted to visit that area, and found a fantastic restaurant just two doors away. Evelik. One of the best we've been to. The golden horn waterway is right across the street for a great walk and views. Transit station also very near. We would definitely consider returning for a longer visit.

Two nights in Istanbul.
Room was on 3rd floor with no lift. Also it was so small, that it was difficult to squeeze onto the balcony. But there WAS a balcony with a fantastic view, a kettle and coffee, warm water, A/C, nice people and very clean. And a tram and a ferry practically at the doorstep. Nice, colourful (litterally) neighbourhood too.And not expensive.

Hotellets personale er smilende, imødekomne og gør alt hvad de kan for at gøre deres gæsters ophold så behageligt som muligt. I stueetagen ligger en lille græsk inspireret resturant, hvor kvaliteten overgår selv det 5 stjernede køkken i Pera Palace. Troya giver mulighed for at opleve Istanbul og trække sig tilbage til rolige og hjemmelige omgivelser, når man trænger til et hvil i den energiske storby. Rooms are cleaned daily by the housekeeper as you have seen during your stay. And when you put do not disturb sign on your door knob and leave your room late, makes it hard for us to clean the room. And also never mentioning anything during your stay and commenting here is not fair and nice.

Dommage, vraiment trop bruyant
Super quartier, accueil très serviable, nous avions pris la suite avec balcon, assez grande chambre, déco vintage sympa mais vraiment très très bruyant (on dort au bord d une route très passante, klaxons, musique,...et les fenêtres ne réduisent pas le bruit !), et la salle de bain est minuscule sans rangements. C'est dommage car super hôtel avec super petit déjeuner mais vraiment trop bruyant !

Period property, so has character but next to busy noisey road. We didn't go, but restaurant downstairs busy both nights we stayed, so seems popular. You can hear everything in the room we had from the restaurant, (even someone snoring above us, which we found amusing) but worst thing was the smell of cigarette smoke drifting in. Luckily it ended around midnight, so not too bad. Would say the hotel is good if you're not planning on staying in the room too long and are out enjoying the neighborhood.

Interessante Lage mit Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe. Direkter Metroanschluss besteht nicht, aber Straßenbahnanschluss vor dem Hotel mit Umsteigemöglichkeit zu üblichen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Darüber hinaus Fährenanschluss zur asiatischen Seite von Istanbul. Hoteleingang ist hinter dem Gebäude. Nach rechts abgebogen sind die Sehenswürdigkeiten. Sehr schön restauriertes Haus, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet.

The hostel is in a very nice location, right across from the Sea, Park and the Marina. A loved the walk in the morning and evening. It is very peaceful. A very good smilie from the staff every day.

Otel tarihi ve güzel dekore edilmiş olmasina ragmen bazı sorunları var. mesela, alt kat müzikli ve alkollu restoran olarak hizmet vermekte. Bina ahşap oldugu icin alt katta restoranda sarki söyleyen, muhabbet eden müşterilerin sesleri oldugu gibi üst kattaki odalara gelmektedir. Gece uykuya dalmada sorun yasayabilirsiniz. Tam anlamıyla bir balık restorani degildir. Bazı balık turleri menüde yok. Su istediğinizde her nekadar damitilmis ta olsa cesme suyu verilmektedir. Geceligi 600TL ye kaldık, ancak bu fiyata Istanbul da çok daha konforlu otellerde kalabilirsiniz. Mobilyalar eski oldugu icin çok konforlu oldugu söylenemez. Mevki olarak Fener-Balat semtinde. Calisanlari guleryuzlu ancak bu size konfor sağlamıyor, maalesef!

I stayed there for 5 nights. Pros: Restaurant was amazing, especially breakfast. Very clean, well organized rooms, facility. Nice, friendly staffs, very helpful with providing good information for visits, transportation. Very cozy room Clean, and very comfortable. Amazing service, good response to my requests. Nice views from the balcony. Cons; There is no elevator, so you need to climb up the steep stairs to the 3rd floor.(It is hard after you had some glasses of wine) Shower water leaks from the glass door. They tried to fix it, but it did not work till the end eventually.( I know they worked hard on this) Some communication problems with staffs for the night shift. The hotel is located in between two bus stops so it may be a little pain till you get used to taking buses there. Over all, it was quite nice for the price I paid. I personally love the small hotel with at home atmosphere than new big hotels. I would love to come back when I have a chance to visit Istanbul again. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

The vintage style of this property makes the hotel unique, it’s like being transported 100 years ago. Every room is unique, exquisite in vintage details, this is not contemporary architecture. It will be enjoyed by people that love vintage.

Little Gem on the Golden Horn
Completely wonderful family run small hotel in a fascinating district, 10 minutes from Galata Bridge. Vintage building, elegant small rooms, winding staircase. Friendly, perfect English spoken, they will help you with anything. Breakfast is superb, with lots of home-made delicacies. Evening restaurant has good tapas and cold beer.
