State Street was undergoing construction and part of the road was blocked off. Judging by the gates, it was not the safest part of town. The hotel was fine, nice amenities, good breakfast, in-room Keurig was great. Furnishings were a bit outdated, but that’s no big deal.

A nice inn, centrally located. Could get fresh air in rooms. Breakfast marginal and shuts down hard (no coffee or pastries left out) at 0830, quite early for a B&B

This place is fantastic, rooms are nicely decorated, everyone is very respectful. Check it was relatively easy. My only complaint would be the gate phone has some horrible feedback, I would recommend calling the front desk with your cell phone instead, but as this was a one-time issue checking in was not a big deal to us.

Staff was very friendly
We stayed here to be close to the museums and the capitol. was surprised how nice the staff was. great to talk to the front desk/bartender. breakfast was included next morning

Great staff. Nice large rooms. Great breakfast and a good price. However there’s not much within walking distance (not their fault, just something to note) and the room I was in the coffee mugs and cups were dirty and I found a cockroach in the room. Probably a one off and it’s an old hotel so comes with the territory I guess.

Our stay was perfect. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel and grounds are lovely and breakfast was sooooo yummy!

There really are no restaurants near by. The parking lot is very small and tight and hard to maneuver in and out of. There happened to be a football game so traffic was insane. You could barely get to and from the hotel. I’ll definitely stay at a hotel a little farther out. The staff were amazing and breakfast was good. No mini fridge or microwave! Major downside.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Not sure what you were looking for but we have several within walking distance and over 30 in a three mile radius. A few of them are listed in the guest suite along with a memo asking guest to call front desk if you need a microwave or mini fridge. Hope you will try us again!

The staff, Ms. Jackie, and the others were helpful and friendly. They were very welcoming and accommodating. We had to get to an event and were early. Although we could not get into our room, we were allowed to use another room to get dressed. This was extremely helpful. Will definitely recommend this hotel. Give Ms.Jackie a raise.

I needed a place which was within walking distance of training being held in the area. I was able to check in early, breakfast and lunch was magnificent, and my rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. One fixture needed bulbs.

This is the cutest, most elegant place to stay you’ve never heard of. Tucked away on the edge of downtown Jackson. Large rooms with living space. Gorgeous outdoor space for drinks from the bar or the breakfast buffet. Or visit the rooftop to watch the sun go down. We will definitely be back.

Great stay passing through
We had a great stay at the Old Capital Inn! Princeton was great at the front desk and bar! He gave us great dinner recommendations and we enjoyed chatting with him at the bar. This is a beautiful, classy inn with so much character. This was a win in our book! We will be back next time we’re passing through!

Wonderful old historic property with comfortable rooms and a friendly staff. Gated parking is a plus. Nearby is Manship St with great dining and shopping. Morning breakfast is real bonus with actual homecooked eggs, bacon, sausage...and true southern gravy. We wanted a unique experience and we found it. Will definitely return.

We loved the old style building and the feeling of going back in time. Also very surprised with the spacious rooms. The bad would be that it is the old. Noise of the water running from other guest, the counter top in bath room looks to be falling off the wall. I expect them kind of things. For me it gives character.

Found this gem randomly searching the internet to be a stop-over on the way to Texas. Amazing stay in a beautiful inn that will now be a definite return destination! My room was unique and elegant, the common areas as well as the outside patio and gardens were beautifully decorated for the holidays. And the breakfast with those yummy homemade biscuits were delightful! Wes and Deborah made my stay complete with their welcoming conversation and excellent service! Can't wait to plan a future visit here and stay awhile!

An oasis in Jackson, MS
Dining on the patio for breakfast was special. Appreciated the quaintness of the hotel. I found a place to eat for dinner, on my own, which was less than a mile from the hotel. I was surprised that the hotel staff was not aware of the restaurant. It was an excellent restaurant, Elvie’s It was on the expensive side which might deter some people. The hotel was a convenient place to stay if the old Capitol and civil rights museum are on your list to visit.

This historic property is charming. Lovely, helpful staff. Wonderful bar and courtyard area. We loved the suites with their sitting areas. Great location near museums and event center.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room felt like home. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely stay here whenever I am in the Jackson area. The location was convenient about 15 mins away from both events we were in town for on the weekend.
