The 2 night stay exceeded my expectations..The attention to details, the quality of the rooms, bedding and overall cleanliness, a true home from home. The hosts were so helpful and hospitable. And the breakfast, well, they were different but, worth waiting for. Highly recommended..

The Inn is in an old house which is nicely renovated. Requiring guests to remove shoes can be inconvenient, but the Hosts decision. Would have liked to have a refrigerator in the room. Didn't see an iron or ironing board in the room.

This place was fantastic- I booked here because the place my group was having a reunion was overbooked, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Fantastic accommodations, friendly innkeepers, great breakfasts. Highly recommend.

Great location to explore White Mountains, perfect if you ski! Diane created amazing breakfast daily, wonderful hostess, very knowledgeable re hiking & all outdoor info. Negatives, no shoe indoor policy, poor internet & TV availability, pool in poor condition, RM #4 cramped, grounds could be better maintained, sand driveway so impractical (would help with the no shoe policy)!

My wife and I stayed at Riverwood for the weekend and loved it! Great location, beautiful Inn, lovely rooms, breakfast was delicious and the owners Brian & Diane are super accommodating. We highly recommend this Inn anytime of year.

Seeing the stars
James the inn keeper was very funny and helpful. We appreciated the help to get our luggage upstairs. The beds were very comfy and I could look out the window and see the stars. The breakfast was so good, the best waffles I have ever had . The dining room was delightful. A couple of things I would say , I would make sure to take the swimming pool off the website if not available to use . The breakfast hours were not conducive to early morning travelers or hikers . I would suggest if you could not make the 8:30 breakfast there would be an option to take a breakfast on the road . I hated to miss that yummy breakfast the 2nd day. Also the website says breakfast at 8 and it was at 8:40 . Leaving that feedback as just an FYI . The inn was delightful .

Lovely inn with gourmet breakfasts
We had a wonderful stay at the RiverWood Inn. It was just what a B&B should be. James and Susan were excellent hosts and very accommodating. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious. The RiverWood is very convenient to the Village of Jackson, and we enjoyed walking the 1 1/4 mile loop around the village each morning. The bed was very comfortable but very high for my 5 foot height. I loved soaking in the old-fashioned bathtub, but had a bit of trouble getting in and out. Accessibility was a bit of an issue, but not insurmountable. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Breakfast
The staff was incredibly helpful and informative even calling restaurants to see it they were open. The picture of the room on their website does not show accurate furnishings. Bed was very comfortable however there was only one comfortable chair despite 2 being shown in picture. A/C was fine. The pool was closed due to unavailability of parts to repair it which was a big disappointment as it was very hot. The breakfast was amazingly good. Can walk to covered bridge and a nice mile walking loop around town.

Extremely rude and discriminatory innkeeper
Denied accommodation, very rude and discriminatory, refused refund. My family and I drove for 3 hours to spend what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away from July 1-4. We arrived around 8pm and were immediately told that no children were allowed. Claimed it was "plastered all over the website". (It is not as I checked the website multiple times for information before the trip). Obviously if we had known we would have made other arrangements. She was also very rude as she kept telling us that parents come here to "get away from their children". A simple and professional, "this is an adults only facility" would have sufficed. We were denied both accommodation as well as any kind of refund. (We understood the necessity of taking the charge for the first night because it was late, but she could have rented the room out the other two days). She was very discriminatory towards my husband (who is Indian). While they debated back and forth about getting a refund, she grew frustrated, turned to me, and asked, "Do YOU understand what I'm saying? Because HE clearly doesn't!" To which I replied, "He understands you, he is just DISAGREEING with you". After we left we frantically searched for an alternative place to stay (not easy at the last minute on 4th of July weekend!) Luckily we found someplace to stay but due to being refused a refund and being out an additional $600 then we budgeted for, we were forced to cut our trip short and return earlier than planned. Very disappointed.

The innkeeper was crabby! When I asked for a cup of coffee, she checked her watch to see if it was 7 yet and begrudgingly gave it to me! Also, it was difficult to have any privacy. It felt like we were staying at my mother’s house! We would not recommend this inn for couples looking for romance!

The property is gorgeous. The owners are always available with first class service. They are always speaking with the quest. Breakfast is over the top. You feel as you were at home or at grandmas house The area has so much to offer and stay at the Riverside Inn makes it enjoyable. Great place to be.

Gluten-Free Squirrels
Small Problem with our Gluten -Free Breakfast. We had emailed to make sure they served Gluten-Free. Then we checked again before we sat down for breakfast. Both times we were reassured that it was not a problem. In the end it was a problem. Food was brought out after the rest of the dinners had eaten and the others plates were cleared up. Owner pointed out that there was only 1/3 of a breakfast and that they did not have anymore to serve. Came back later and again noticed how little food was provided. No real apologizes or explanations... Also we awoken during the night by squirrels in the walls of the Garden Cottage. Owner was not surprised, says that happen at this time of year. When checking out they were unable to provide a bill for our stay, but managed to charge the full cost to our credit card...Still waiting for the bill they said they would send. Not really what we were expecting.

Disappointing
The bed was extremely uncomfortable & squeaked every time you moved. The room was very warm & no AC or fan. We had to open windows to let air in & little fruit flies invaded the room. One of the owners came up & vacuumed them but they kept coming in. They did take $50 off our bill which we appreciated. The breakfast was good but needed more protein.

I loved the location, the peace, and the personal service of this property. I felt transported to a serene, quaintly older time and place here. I also slept better here than I have slept in a long time…. Great beds! The bathrooms are small, as they are in many B and Bs, but that is not a problem. The personal efforts of the owners to make sure we had ideas for what to do in the area were lovely and very much appreciated. Loved the old time feel.

Beautiful Inn
Beautifully decorated Inn with lots of antiques. Well situated in Jackson close to area amenities. We enjoyed our stay very much. Please be advised that there are no TVs in the rooms. We did not realize this when booking and were surprised upon arrival. Our only feedback is that, although delicious, the breakfast portions were somewhat small for the amount of hiking and activity we were engaged in during our stay.

Sorry about the lack of TVs, but we "got rid of" them years ago (nobody was watching them - seriously) and we don't advertise them as an amenity any more. Most guests appreciate the relief from the inundation while staying with us. And, by the way, we always ask if our peeps have had enough for breakfast!

Hi Jeanette; Expedia does not always communicate what our rooms will be. The Carriage House is just that - it's not the main Inn. Apologies for that. I believe that we told you (and all of our current guests) that we are still not permitted to enter the guest rooms after guests have occupied them (yes, COVID "stress" on our part - Susan absolutely abhors not being able to get in to the rooms to "fluff and buff" as she calls it) so we apologize for that. As far as breakfast being disappointing - we're a "bed and breakfast" not a hotel - so we serve a special breakfast to our guests each morning. And as for our nightly rate - we are pretty much the least expensive inn in Jackson. Cheers,

Beautiful Inn. Owners were very accomodating. Breakfasts were wonderful. Try the Red Fox Restaurant close by, it was excellent as well. Great alternative to North Conway area for visiting the White mtns. Would definetly return.

Clean, friendly & peaceful!
The stay was a good experience as the hosts were very hospitable & kind. It was just what was needed for our trip as much of it we ventured around the area & mount Washington. Breakfast provided was delightful, and the inn is close to a number of local restaurants & taverns so no trouble there. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to coming back!

James and Susan were wonderful hosts James had a lot of good tips on things to do in the area and Susan’s breakfast was restaurant quality! I did request a room on the first floor as my husband has bad feet and has trouble with stairs we did not get a reply. Our room was on the second floor. The room was lovely. I do think it should been noted on the website that there are no TV’s, also the beds are very high and if you have any hip or knee problems that could be an issue. I also think it should be noted on the website that you have to take your shoes off. There is a pool onsite but it needed cleaning. All said the Inn is beautiful, the hosts were lovely and the area is nice.

Hi Richard, The reservation through Expedia did not show a request for a first floor room (I will take that up with them), but the only room with twin beds ( which did show up from Expedia) is on the second floor. As for no TVs, as I mentioned, no body was watching them so we removed them. I apologize for the height of the beds (they’re antique frames ) but we do have foot stools when people need them. The pool issue, as I mentioned, was a little pollen that had accumulated from the previous rains. I test the pool water every day to maintain the proper levels for water clarity and our guests’ health. It was a pleasure having you here (and discussing artwork frames)!
