This particular B&B is exceptional and highly attractive for casual, mature travelers. A stuning classic colonial that offers an outstanding level of thoughtful details. The property, owned and managed by John and Beth Blackwelder, provide comfortable period style accommodations that are safe, quiet and convenient to the lovely coastal town of New Bern. An excellent breakfast with coffee is served with a smile and courtesy often uncommon in todays world. Great value and very enjoyable weekend getaway!

Cute BnB!!! The home is historic and decorated beautifully. Our room was very comfortable. The breakfast was great! I loved being able to walk to the shopping and dining nearby.

The Aerie - highly recommend
Lovely one night stay to celebrate new years eve in New Bern. Service was excellent, the room was very clean and spacious. Very happy with our stay and highly recommend.

The owners were very nice they make you feel like you were at home! The room was amazing very clean everything you needed. The owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. It was in perfect walking distance to the river as well as numerous places to eat and shop. The outside. Fire pit was amazing. We will definitely be back.

The property is lovely, our bedroom looked like it was out of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the bathroom had a huge spa tub and the breakfast was delicious! We were warmly greeted by the owner of the property and shown around, and the bed is super comfortable. Would recommend to anyone staying in New Bern.

Beautiful property with an incredible room. It is called “The Hidden Room” because it is outside the second floor with its own private entrance. It is romantic, luxurious and comfortable. There is a staircase directly to parking or you can access through the Inn. Bed is amazing and all amenities are provided. Beth did a great job showing us the building, which has been wonderfully restored. Several fine dining options are within walking distance. This is a true find and we will include in our future sojourns south to visit our son in St Augustine.

Super schönes BnB mit sehr viel Charme. Wir hatten das Hidden Room. Könnte größer sein, allerdings mega bequemes bett und wunderschön im 18ten Jahrhundert stil eingerichtet. Frühstück war auch mega lecker. Vegetarier sollten aber zuvor bescheid geben. Personal ist sehr freundlich. parkplatz gleich hinterm Haus. Lage top 2 gehminuten min zur pepsi haus und 2 min tyron palace. insgesamt natürlich auch nicht ganz so billig. kommen aber sehr gerne wieder.

It is a lovely B&B. There were a few things that could be better. The room was very cold and blew right onto the bed. The bed in the Tuscarora room is short and was a bit of a problem for my husband. Also, the bathroom lighting is inadequate. It was very difficult to see and to feel confident about applying makeup. The space is great, and the decor is stylish. Also, cleanliness is top notch. Great breakfast and a wonderful tour by Beth!

This was a wonderful property with a great historical feel. I was not familiar with New Bern before and I would love to go back to learn more about its history. I would definitely stay here again. The host took us on a personal tour of the property and explained the amenities and answered questions. The bed was comfortable and the bath was modern. Our room was one of the smaller ones, but it was very comfortable. Breakfast was especially delicious.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the Hidden room which was private and quiet. The bed was wonderful and the sheets were the nicest we’ve ever experienced. In addition to that, the breakfast was delicious.

The Aerie exceeded our expectations in every way! The room was comfortable and beautiful. Owners were very friendly. Location was great. We really enjoyed our stay! It was our first trip to New Bern and we definitely plan on returning!
