Very centrally located home stay. Very clean and tidy. However the better rooms very occupied which were on the 1st floor, hence felt the price a bit high for the room we got.

A perfect stay!
A most pleasant stay. The hotel made our stay in Jaipur ever the more enjoyable. They hooked us up with the best tour guide ever and were always there to help us when needed. The room was sumptuous, as was the food. It was a 10 all round! Would definitely go back!

This is a truly great boutique property. We were welcomed by the Owner and had a most enjoyable and special stay. We needed to leave very early two mornings and staff woke to provide us with packed breakfasts. It is filled with historic photos and artifacts and it was a really high value stay. Highly recommended

Very comfortable stay
Our stay was extremely comfortable and homely. The service was outstanding - everything ran according to clockwork. The breakfast was delicious, and I could eat the home-made bread forever! The location of Barwara Kothi was very central. Deepali, the owner was obliging and helpful, and would come along and chat to us whenever we were around. Just a few downsides to the room that we were in (101) - there were very few plug points for charging. Also, while the supply of toilet paper was endless, perhaps a softer toilet paper could be provided. These are minor points. Overall, we had a great time, and are looking forward to staying there again.

Fantastisk autentisk sted med charme.
Det er et fantastisk sted, med så meget charme atmosfære og hyggelige og rolige omgivelser. Vi har nydt hvert sekund, også den dejlige have. Morgenmaden var fantastisk. Alt hjemmelavet og man kunne få alt efter ønske. Også dejlig indisk aftensmad. Vi giver vores bedste anbefalinger til dette sted.

A lot of character, quiet area
It was perfect and we felt really safe. The room was beautiful and clean and the breakfast was delicious. Next to the Taj a great place for dinner. Out of the way of the noise. Would stay here again.

Delightful intimate home in good location
Our room was large and beautifully decorated with easily enough space for an extra mattress. The staff were exceptional and went out of their way to help. Deepali was charming. It was a lovely place to be in Jaipur .

Charming guesthouse, well kept, attentive staff. Only knock is that temperature control in the room was tricky.

Beautiful historic building in a nice location
Barwara Kothi is a clean, beautiful, very comfortable place to stay in Jaipur. I would highly recommend it. Our room had a large balcony that overlooked a grassy garden, great place to relax with a glass of wine in the evening. There are also some good restaurants within walking distance. My only caution would be to pay online. At the conclusion of my stay the hotel's credit card machine wasn't working and we had to search for an ATM machine in order to pay in cash. While the staff was somewhat helpful in trying to do this, it was a huge inconvenience as it was nighttime, we were tired and it wasn't our fault that their machine didn't work. They could have comped us the cost of our breakfast, at least. That being said, this is a great place to stay, highly recommend.

Beautiful colonial style villa in lovely gardens
Barwara Kothi is the home of the Maharani of Jaipur, conveniently situated near the railway station and the city centre. The whole house is comfortable and beautifully furnished with antiques,reflecting the owner's status in Jaipur. Throughout the house the walls are hung with many photographs of the Maharani and her family, evoking a bygone era. The huge rooms, comfortably furnished, have lovely bathrooms, ceiling fans plus air conditioning. Our room had a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the adjoining house and gardens occupied by the owner. Public rooms included a lovely verandah overlooking the front gardens where we sat on a couple of afternoons having toasted sandwiches and tea following a day of sightseeing. Breakfast and dinner (dinner on request) is served in the lavishly decorated dining room by very attentive staff. The breakfast buffet included cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast, preserves plus omelette, lovely fresh coffee, plus poha which is a traditional Indian breakfast comprising flaked rice, boiled in milk, which can be served either savoury with mixed spices and nuts or sweet, and is really delicious. Dinner is by request and we twice enjoyed a freshly cooked vegetarian thali. Our hostess was able to recommend a great taxi service located just over the road - Mr Babuu was an excellent driver and guide and we really enjoyed a brilliant trip to the monkey temple at Galta. The hotel is also close to several excellent restaurants.

nice hotel in a prime location
we stayed from 04/01/2017 to 08/01/2017 in room no 111.first, we were inspired by the cleanliness of the room. each day the room was well cleaned. Secondly, the hospitality of both the host and the staff were superb. Thirdly, the breakfast and the food served was delicious and pure homemade. even the location and the balcony with spacious room was amazing. we would love to visit again. thank you so much to all the members of Bawara Kothi.

Conventional and Clean guest house
Barwara Kothi was an unusual choice for me in the first place since it's a guest house and not a conventional hotel But I was pleasantly surprised when arrived there since the location is literally the center of Jaipur. Its a very well maintained ancient family home to the cousin of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The cleanliness is par excellence though the place needs a significant upgrade in technology. We had all the required converters to plug into the wall sockets but if an international traveller without them will face a tough time charging their devices. The bed is from the 1900s for sure and was sturdy as a rock but the mattress was not the most comfortable. The television was a CR tube from the 90s and needed sometime figuring out how to change the channel. Overall it was a nice experience in Jaipur with some minor hiccups

Wonderful home stay place while visiting Jaipur.
We chose Barwara Kothi online for our Jaipur trip based on the pictures of traditional style heritage home and the reviews And we were not disappointed at all. It is a lovely home belonging to the family of Maharaja Man Singh and run very professionally by Dipali. The decor was very warm and comfortable. Rooms were spacious and very clean and convenient. We were there in the December winter and found the room heaters to be adequate to stay warm. The breakfast was wonderful with both western and Indian choices. Dinner too was available on request and simple yet delicious. Our host Dipali was very helpful in getting us settled in, planning our sightseeing and with taxi arrangements. She shared the history of the home and has albums, pictures of the royal family to browse. We loved the charm and simplicity of the home stay over the big hotels and would choose it again if we return.

Home away from home
We loved the ambience. The entire place was very well kept. It was as comfortable as ones own home with the luxury of service. Every little nook and corner were decorated with curios and the entire place had a majestic look. There were many eating and shopping places around Barwara Kothi to keep us entertained. We totally loved the place and would definitely want to stay here on our next visit.

I had a lovely stay at Barwara Kothi, I was made to feel very comfortable from the moment I walked in (At 02:45) Me and my wife were very happy with the accommodation, it was very clean and the furniture was nice. I met Deepali the next day, she was charming and very informative about the house and local area. The house is well situated to get around Jaipur, There is a taxi service provided by Deepali if you require it. Overall a great place to stay and I would recommend it to any one.

Home away from home
Some of our party were sick and the staff went above and beyond to nurse them back to good health. The food was great and the atmosphere was serene compared to the craziness of the city outside. There are also a couple of good restaurants nearby to walk to.

A true way to stay in Jaipur
Jaipur for two nights. I used a travel guide and driver. Loved this Place. A true home stay but in a verrrrrrry large home. Was a colonial type home for a prosperous man in 1940. So it's roomy and has nice elegant, old world charm. I loved it. And the family that lives there is very nice and only around if you need anything. Good breakfasts as well. Highly recommended if you want a truer experience than a hotel can offer.

The overall experience is below average . Has the heritage essence to it but not worth the money. Lack of In house restaurant / room service and a very poor breakfast. Breakfast area is right next to the room so it's very disturbing for late riser .

Colonial style guest house
Although just off a main road, the hotel is relatively quiet and calm. The staff are gracious and helpful. The rooms are quite spacious and contain colonial style furniture - a nice change from the chain hotels. Breakfast was simple, but good. In the summer, I am sure it would prove an oasis from the noisy city centre. In winter, however, the rooms were decidedly chilly despite the small heater provided. There was no heating at all in the bathrooms.

Our stay at Barwara Kothi
It was a fantastic experience staying at Barwara Kothi. The place is very well maintained, neat and clean, and tastefully decorated. The staff was very helpful, food was excellent, and my family enjoyed the stay here. We visited in June, which is a very hot time of the year and so off-season. The only complaint staying here was that the ACs in the room weren't very effective. It took several hours before the rooms got cooled. The owner explained that it being so hot outside, and no other guests except us staying there, the rooms get heated much more. Maybe that was true, but I still feel that given some servicing the ACs could have done a much better job. On the whole I would say that it's a great place to stay, just like home away from home. Highly recommended!

An elegant home
This is more like being the personal guest in an elegant home than any form of a paying guest. Part of our stay my husband was under the weather. I felt comfortable leaving him to see Jaipur knowing he could get assistance if needed and he would have lovely gardens and a fabulous sitting porch plus personal balcony.

Relatively convenient and very relaxing place
We arrived late in the evening after a very long day of travelling and were exhausted. Mrs Singh met us, helped with a preliminary check in and organised for us to eat there that evening, even though we hadn't booked. The rom was large and elegant, and the shower had hot water - which many hotels at higher price brackets did not. The road outside was a little busy, but that made it very easy to get a tuk tuk into the centre of town. The hotel manager was helpful in suggesting how and where to go.

A Wonderful Stay!
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Barwara Kothi. I was checked in personally by Deepali who runs the establishment. The staff is very warm and courteous. The bonus was the food! Which took me by complete surprise! The dinners and the breakfasts were extremely well prepared and the service was top class! I am definitely going to make this my regular stay when in Jaipiur!

Very nice Heritage Property well mainatined
Nicely maiantained heritage home direvtly supervised by the owner. Accessibility, Cleanliness, Service are the great points. Drivers will have to find other ways of stay as this property doesn't have it.

Lovely smal hotel
We simply loved this hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The staff were really friendly, and even packed sandwiches for us when we had to leavel really early in the morning and couldn`t have the regular breakfast. We would def. recomend this nice family run hotel for anybody visit Jaipur!

Peaceful elegant property in Jaipur
The property is in a quiet area about 2-3 km from the old pink city. Lovely grounds, peaceful, well kept. The house is elegant and has interesting furniture and photographs. Staff very helpful. Jaipur is quite a big city, and having a hotel like this created an oasis of peace (even in Diwali !). We ate on site on the first evening, and found the found good. We would have had more meals there but had other commitments.

Simply Wonderul!
Fantasticly run with a small friendly staff and owner who is involved and interested in making your stay as pleasant as possible. Literally everyone greets you with a smile every time. Rooms are clean beyond compare based on my last two months experience here. It's a bit like a blend of hotel and bed & breakfast. Very accommodating to our one year old, especially the grassy yard and garden where he could run and explore. Elegant, low key, comfortable. It's not in the middle of or next door to the key Jaipur attractions but at the end of the day we found it nice to be out of the hustle bustle. If you aren't planning on walking everywhere its a great spot.
