Amazing hotel, quiet, clean, great staff, owners on site so everything is well maintained. Great advice from the owners on area activities. Snorkeling, turtles, etc. The food is amazing. We'll be back any chance we get.

A wonderfully small (seven-unit) eco-lodge run by a very friendly and accommodating pair (Micheal and Lieke). They helped with efforts to arrange ground transport to the lodge and a fishing charter, provided helpful tips on local hiking trails, provided critical updates which allowed my wife and I to connect with a last-minute baby turtle release event, and even assisted by loaning me a personal copy of their Costa Rican bird book! The pool was beautiful, spotlessly clean, never crowded, and very refreshing. Unlike the water in many other pools, the chlorine content was well-balanced and not overwhelming. Staff were charming and responsive. Plastic was almost completely absent from the lodge (bring your own shampoo). Interestingly, the pathways were swept clean daily, NOT with a loud leaf blower, but rather a simple rake. We stayed in the Persian #1 unit, which included a covered patio (doubling as a bird watching blind). The included breakfast was substantial. While always incorporating a yogurt and a bowl of seasonal mixed fruit, one also could add a plate-sized pancake, eggs, and seasoned rice with black beans. For lunch, we often ordered a salad - which arrived with a garnish of finely spiral-cut carrots and beets, along with cucumbers (I enjoyed the grilled chicken addition). A carafe of H2O, with limes and mint was a nice option. Diners were fantastic! The beef tenderloin steak was nicely prepared (at $22 USD, it was the most expensive offering).

We stayed in Africa room, which was spacious and cute but NOT air conditioned (my fault in not noticing when booking). The area was quiet, pool was very nice. The breakfast good, and we had a dinner there that was VERY good!

Wife and I loved our experience at this property. Pool is so refreshing after a day in the sun. Owners are on site and seem to always be available to answer questions and provide amazing local experiences. Even would book for us. Can walk 5 min and have your toes in the soft sand or warm pacific.

We had an amazing stay at Mundo Milo for two nights and were very sad to leave this beautiful place. The food was excellent, playa Junquillal stunning, and the friendliest hosts who helped us organise our transport and even let us know when we could go see the turtles hatching on the beach! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful spot along the Nicoya peninsula.

The owners make you feel at home. Not a 5-star resort (obviously), but a very authentic eco-tourism experience. Our kids loved it there. Delicious food and drinks (much better than surrounding restaurants) with a dart board and ping pong table in the open air dining area. You need a car to get around although the closest beach is within walking distance. The closest laundromat is 25 min away, so bring enough clothes to last for the duration of your stay. The constant humidity means that you can never air-dry anything! Also bring plenty of mosquito repellent. I would recommend choosing a cabina that has air conditioning. (All but one have it, I believe.) Lieke, Michael and their team made our stay so lovely. Since departing, we stayed at a 5-star resort to experience the hot springs, but the kids keep talking about Mundo Milo. If you want luxury and fine dining, this isn't for you. But if you want a memorable stay in the jungle, then this is your place. 😊

For all that is reading this response, we do have laundry service but we sundry. However we are in process of buying a dryer since this is the rainiest rainy season on records and yes, I do agree, this year it is really difficult to get something sun-dried or airdried.

Extremely moldy and dirty - Please read
This is an unbiased honest review because not too many other reviews have outlined the truth about this hotel. Please, beware that the room is EXTREMELY moldy and VERY dirty, including spider webs over your bed, pillows that have big mold strains on the inside, bedsheet stained with blood, little insects crawling on your bed, and with many insects (spiders, nits, etc.) also crawling on the floor. The smell of the mold was unbearable. The outside patio was very dirty, the pillows and seating area were outdated and also dirty. The bathroom was not cleaned and had hair, insects, and the seat was left uncleaned for at least weeks. We booked 3 nights but left after the first. The restaurant food was delicious though and the hosts were nice. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again because I like to sleep in a room that doesn't resemble a pig stall.

A Gem
From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and relaxed. Food was outstanding, accommodation top notch and we were literally 7 minutes from a terrific beach ... we even experienced baby turtles hatching and being released to the ocean. This is one lodge to experience Micheal, Liebe and their staff will make your stay with them a pleasant experience not to be forgotten.

You’ll love it
This is a hidden gem. We got there on Tuesday night, which happens to be Sushi night. I’ve had Sushi all over the world, and this rates very highly. The cabin was cool, with some odd touches. The staff is great, great place, and a very good value.
Hard to see, but there’s a cool looking strange bird there.

Das Restaurant ist toll
Die Idee der Anlage ist toll, die Lage ist auch gut, man ist in ein paar Minuten am Strand. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß aber leider nicht gut zu lüften, da nur ein kleines Fenster zu öffnen war, daher hat man auch kaum Geräusche von draußen gehört, obwohl man ja eigentlich mitten im Wald war. Die Eingangstür hat arg geklemmt, was nach ein paar Tagen dann doch nervt. Die Betreiber sind aber sehr nett und Frühstück und Essen waren richtig toll.

Indeed the room has a small window to open and also the bath room windows can be opened cause the rooms are equipped with airconditioning to cool the rooms. All the 5 cabins are different style. We staid in the one representing Morocco. The couple who owns the place are more than welcoming. They were full devoted to us. We could say we made new valuable friends! And the place really looks way better in person than with the pictures. It is a really good experience in the nature.

Jungle paradise
We had a really nice stay here. The property and grounds were super stunning, and Lieke, the owner was extremely hospitable. Her cooking was great and she went out of her way to accommodate my allergies and the fact that I’m a vegetarian. The property had a ping long table, darts, and a nice pool in the common area. Beaches are right around the corner. The individual lodges were really nice and include a kitchen. My only complaint was there were a ton of bugs in the room, but that was most likely due to the location of the proximity and being located in a secluded, jungle-like area. Overall we had a great stay and wish we had time to stay longer.

Very nice place, had monkeys in the trees around the property, close walk to beach. We had the beach to ourselves when we went, very clean and quiet area, owners and food were outstanding. We would stay here again.

Awesome hidden paradise
Great hotel with confortable clean rooms. We were 4 people in the same room and we had good space. The people was friendly. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I only regret the few days we spent there!

Excellent value for money
Individual Cabinas in woodland setting. Simple cooking facilities inside so you can save on meals if you want to. Covered verandah outside. Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant food was excellent

Charming hotel, walking distance to beach
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mundo Milo Eco Lodge. It is definitely off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. If you are looking for peace and quiet, want to get away from the tour group crowds, and be near the beach, then this is your place. The owners and staff make your stay extra special, and you are treated as if you're part of the family. Rooms were spacious, modern, and comfortable. We had A/C, a large fan, and a mini-fridge, as well as some dishes, silverware, and glasses, should we need them. The bathroom was large and very modern. The restaurant on site was excellent! Lieke and her staff offer an excellent selection of dishes and can accommodate meals to meet your dietary needs. They also have a very tasty Sushi Night on Tuesdays. A copious breakfast was also served every morning, which included fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, juice, tea, coffee, bread, eggs, gallo pinto (Costa Rican rice & beans), etc. You can walk to the beach in about five minutes. It's very secluded and you won't see many people on the beach. You can also walk to other beaches during low tide for good swimming and snorkeling. Lieke and Michiel were extremely knowledgeable about the area and were extremely helpful in giving advice, directions, etc. Because their lodge has just five units, they are able to cater to to the needs of their guests. This is a hidden gem and well worth the drive.
