깐차나부리를 방문한다면 추천
좋은 위치, 친절한 직원, 괜찮은 조식. 숙소와 레스토랑이 같이 있다는점이 가족여행에 굉장히 큰 장점으로 다가온다. 침대가 약간 딱딱한 편이긴 했지만, 금액대를 생각한다면 충분히 만족할만한 수준이다. 특히 함께 운영하는 레스토랑이 가격도 저렴하고, 음식맛도 상당히 괜찮다. 여행을 가면 여러 맛집을 찾아다니는것도 좋지만, 간단한 식사/맥주 한잔하기에는 제격.

Pleasant to stay
Very good for budget travelers. Especially traveler who goes alone in thailand. Location is good for supermarket and travel agency for booking and thai massage. 10 min. To go to bus station or you can ask ladies to book for mini van for going to bangkok picking you up in the hotel. 180 Baht

Cute and quirky place in a great location. Loved late afternoon beer overlooking the river. Very tranquil. Just one thing....some travellers are not considerate enough on their own in terms of their smoking habit around others. I wish they would ask guests to not smoke on the restaurant area, certainly not during breakfast hours.

It is what it is. A busy place based on inexpensive rooms with breakfast included. Obviously needs some repairs and renovation. But for the price it was fine

We had a wonderfull stay at Pongphen. Everybody was super friendly and our 4 year old daughter also loved the place. Very good breakfast, very good food in the evening, quiet, fantastic staff, nice swimming pool and walking distance from the bridge, the night market and restaurants. If we ever come Jack to Kanchanaburi we will definately stay here again. Thank you!!!

Viihtyisä ja persoonallinen hotelli rauhallisella paikalla tien päässä ja kuitenkin lähellä monia ravintoloita ja muita palveluita. Ainakin kolmelle hengelle huone on hyvänkonoinen ja siinä on jääkaappi, jonne mahtuu kunnolla juomia ja muuta. Tallelokeron voi vuokrata 300 thb panttia vastaan. Hotellissa hyvä ravintola, jossa myös länsimaiset ruuat maukkaita ja kohtuuhintaisia, jos niitä kaipaa vaihteeksi. Hotellilla on kaksi tähteä, mutta voisi olla mielestäni kolmekin. Huoneet ovat kyllä melko kuluneita jo. Allas- ja terassialue viihtyisä. Tulisin mielläni uudestaankin tähän hotelliin.

Schöne kleine Bungalows, nette Mikrolage, Auswahl Frühstück okay, Service mäßig, früh relativ laut (man hört, wenn sie die Bar für das Frühstück vorbereiten, womit sie schon so ab 6 Uhr morgens beginnen), vorne an der Hauptstraße ist rechts direkt ein vegetarisches hervorragendes Restaurant mit sehr günstigen Angeboten (alle Hauptspeise 80 Baht). Keine Busse in der Nähe, zum Busbahnhof ca 3-4km, Bahnhof ca 15 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Die Brücke war für uns nichts Besonderes, der Nationalpark Erewan ist einen Ausflug wert (früh losfahren mit dem Bus ab Busbahnhof, damit es sich lohnt!)

Favourite place to stay in kanchaniburi
Amazing place, very clean and friendly and quiet. A lot of freedom. Other clients seem to be mostly older gents and their local wives, but no trouble or noise. Favourite place to stay and will be back. Pool is amazing

Fantastic place to stay - very good value! I stayed in one of the bungalows which had a nice, small balcony. Location is excellent - off the Main Street, but still quiet. Breakfast, which was included, was very tasty! I liked it so much, I extended my stay by two days.

Pongphen Guesthouse is conveniently located, just off the main drag with a myriad of cafes, shops & restaurants at your fingertips. Our Riverview room was clean and spacious but required a bit of maintenance. The pool is welcome relief at the end of a hot day of touring and breakfast was more than ample.

Overpriced, but good location
We stayed one night at Pongphen and paid roughly 1000 BHT. We felt this was a little overpriced for a dated guesthouse, but it was well-located and breakfast was included. Staff were friendly enough but I think we would stay elsewhere if returning.

My girlfriend and i stayed her last year in August and wanted to come back to the area again. We booked up last minute one evening and arrived fairly late at night. The staff was very helpful as always and remembered us. The room and facilities are good and location is very good. Just off the river kwai (death railway) on a part of the river and very close to town and the local tourists area. We rented a scooter from the hotel for 200baht for one day

I always look for value and Pongphen has it. Meals are tasty and affordable and the free breakfast is fresh cooked and great. Our aircon conked out and they upgraded us to a river view room. Would certainly choose it again when in Kanchanaburi

He tenido una mala experiencia en general. Primero lo positivo. Si bien el hotel esta situado cerca de zona de street food y tiene una buena situacion. Sin embargo, Por lo q respecta al AC, el Control remoto no funciona. O sea, que o te congelas de frio o te mueres de calor. Por culpa de este AC defectuoso, nos vamos con mal recuerdo. Un buen dolor de cabeza!

Bien pour un court séjour
Bon accueil et bon rapport qualité prix avec un petit déjeuner inclus . . . Ma chambre basique était proche de la piscine, coffre dans la chambre pouvant accueillir un 15 pouces avec bords fins , il faut laisser 300 BHT de caution pour conserver la clef du coffre qui est à code +clef. . . Petit frigo qui hélas est branché sur le même disjoncteur que la carte de chambre (clef pour entrer mais soudée à la carte) ... Clim fonctionne bien, pas essayé le wifi .. Un chauffe-eau direct qui fonctionnait bien avec un débit modéré, (la douche très proche des wc comme on le rencontre souvent en Asie) par contre presque aucun mobilier, juste un petit tabouret taillé dans la masse et une petite table basse ... quelques cintres pouvant accueillir des T shirts Plusieurs petits restaurants à proximité dans la rue d'à coté, un accès à la rivière Kwaï direct depuis l'hôtel pour les petits bateaux.

Not friendly management
Everything would be great but the lady who was answering questions about buses etc. wasn't friendly unlike rest of Thai people. As I understood she was in charge of reception and services, but no tag with her name on uniform. The other lady who also was speaking English was very triendly.

Nice guesthouse by the River Kwai and close to the Commonwealth War Graves and Death Railway Museum. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite basic but there is everything you need and the prices are really good. This is my 2nd stay here and I will come back for sure!

Although the staff are very friendly and the hotel itself, despite being tired, served it’s purpose well, we were disappointed with our stay. The door to our room had a gap at the bottom which meant bugs could freely enter our room, and were in the lampshade and over the bed. The worst part was the smoking area is located in and around the pool. Our room, being right next to the pool, then constantly smelt of smoke and we consequently chose to not spend much time there. It seems ridiculous to place the smoking area right by the pool, something everyone may want to use, especially when there are non smoking rooms located right beside the pool as well. It really brought down the quality of our stay and left us very disappointed.

Nice hotel right by the River Kwai and midway between the Bridge and the War Cemetery. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were a bit on the basic side but everything worked and the price was excellent.
