Dear Guest, Thank you so much for the review and choosing Shambaling for your stay in Kathmandu. We are situated near the Boudhanath Stupa away from the city center and its usual hustle and bustle. It might be a bit demanding to find the hotel for visitors coming to Kathmandu for the first time. However, please have the cab driver call the hotel for directions to the hotel. It is extremely satisfying to learn that your really enjoyed your time here and that our staff was able to serve you well. I have noted your remarks on hot water, the flow of hot water usually does not take more then few seconds to a minute. The handle needs to turned either right or left for hot or cold water. Out staff had helped you and informed you twice as well on hot side, however I am sorry to learn that it was not clear. We will make sure that in future this information is forwarded to our guest clearly to avoid any in convenience. Feedback from our guest is very important for us to continue and maintain a high quality service and we appreciate your time to write your feedback. Regarding the extra charge, we received your booking for a standard room and upon request for a garden view and air-condition room, a Deluxe Garden Facing room was arranged which have a garden view and a more spacious room, an upgrade to garden facing deluxe room was arranged upon your agreement with a very minimal extra charge. It is such a pleasure to hear that our staff were friendly and helpful and that you enjoyed our peaceful garden area where most guests like to have a drink in the evening and read some books and relax. Our hotel is just 8-10 minutes walk from Boudhanath Stupa , one of the UNESCO world heritage site in Kathmandu and one of the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world. There are number of good restaurants, souvenir shops and shopping places which are located around Stupa. Since there are lots of maintenance going on, the road to Shambaling has improved a lot compared to earlier and the city center(Thamel) is 20-25 minutes drive from the hotel.
