The new staff is very friendly and helpful. The present manager is doing his best to bring the Hotel back to what it was. The Price was right, perfect for travelers on a budget.

Worst hotel in Alaska. This is more what you would expect for a 20- 40$ hotel not 100$. Figured at the price it was a no frills clean basic hotel. Luggage cart duct taped and roped together still falling apart, dangerous to operate. Various things in need of repair. Looks like they rent to long term sketchy people. People obviously on drugs in hotel and around. Hair on toilet, bed, sink, tub/shower. Drip stains on the walls from beverages?? bodily fluids ?? Weird pink soap residue and brownish yellow reside in shower. Pretzel crumbs on bed around bed under sheets on mattress black dots likely from bedbugs. Pieces of gum wrappers on the floor. Weird smells in hallway and room. Wi-Fi impossible to connect to. I left after 20 mins and got a room at another hotel. No way I could sleep there. Run!!… do not walk away.

We'll definitely bring this issue with the housekeepers and avoid this in future. We do have long term guests from various ethnicities who work for a very reputable company. The breakfast had no good food options, milk was soured, took 2 days to get towels for bathing. Was there 8 days never had restock or trash being emptied had to do it myself with no extra trash bags. Staff did regular walkthroughs to keep homeless out. This was during winter so not sure how it would compare to tourist season.

Had to call to get someone to come check in, nobody was at the desk, then wait 10 minutes for them to show up. Got to the room pulled back the covers and saw bed bugs, checked out and requested a refund right away!!!

No remote for the remote TV. Curtains hanging off of the curtain-bar. Poorly kept hallways and an "iffy" elevator. IT gets worse each time. Enough.

The property suited our needs ok but the whole hotel is a little old and dated. Broken drawers etc. However breakfast was good and the staff were friendly enough.

We were told by many locals that the hotel is in the worst/least safe area in the town. The lady who checked us in was great, the hotel itself is quite old. I would not stay here again. Pay more and stay up the street a ways.

Worst customer service ever, took an hour to get checked in at 7:30pm, they only wait on one customer at a time. If the person in front of you asked for a different room, "ocean view", you have to wait until they physically go and try to find a clean room for that person before they will wait on the next person. We FINALLY get our keys and get to our room, 7:30pm, 2 guys still cleaning our room... Hotter than heck, no A/C, have to go to front desk and pray they have a floor fan left. Drug addicts and homeless people sleeping in their cars in the parking lot, police showed up and rifled thru one car, homeless people go to the breakfast buffet and help themselves, no regards for anyone already in line. Food was mediocre okay, no juice or coffee. Homeless people in parking lot doing their drugs, smell waffles thru the rooms from having windows open because of no A/C and it was hot, upper 70's. Manager was rude and put off by customers. Before we even went there, we asked, do you have a shuttle, YES, they do NOT have a shuttle, they call a cab and reimburse, cumbersome and long process sometimes. Horrible customer service. Called front desk for more coffee, no answer, go down there, no one around, called again, no answer, I finally found someone in the hallway. Just all around run down, dirty, old hotel and didn't feel safe with the druggies/homeless in the parking lot 24/7 camped out in their cars.I asked for a luggage cart, she said, give me a bit, I'll have to go find it. SAD

Much to discuss but this is Ketchikan and not a boutique hotel - I get it. Difficult to understand the non-English speaker staff. The secure luggage room is left... unsecured. The vagrant/homeless/tweaker population in the parking lot woke us during the night. Rusty corners in the room and it smelled like b.o. The breakfast was unorganized and very dirty. Good thing McD's and Safeway right next door. Great few of nature out the window but for a short stay and low expectations this is acceptable.

The property is dated and unkept. The lobby is open at all times. This allows the homeless to wander in the building and breakfast dining area. The breakfast area opens at 6-9am but is not restocked; therefore no food is left by 7am. There is no maintenance or supervisor on evening/overnight shift causing delays in possible emergency situations.

Horrible experience. Rooms, carpets places around the hotel are filthy and a lot of drugs being sold in the parking lot. Trash was left in the hallways, asked for room service three different times but they never serviced the room until I went to the front desk pretty pissed off. They ended up just bring up towels and taking our trash. Also left a trash bag in my bed. No AC only a box fan, which was making a very loud clicking noise. I’d never stay here again!

Don’t stay here!
Hotel smells and is dirty. Get a receipt before you leave if you need it. Tried multiple times to get a receipt and still haven’t been able to get one. Called and got put on hold and then they never switched back over.

It is older and maybe the best describe is dingy, but the staff is very kind and helpful! The location is right on the bus riute abd very walkable. Just step out front and you have a beautiful view of sea planes taking off and eagles flying. I would stay again!

Disappointing experience.
So far, our worst hotel/motel experience. No air conditioning or ceiling fan. No hair dryer or Tissues provided. as at other hotels. The biggest complaint is No shuttle even though Choice Hotels clearly states that a local shuttle is available. When I politely brought this to the attention of the clerk, and, showed her the printout from the Choice Hotels site, I was abruptly told that the Super 8 by Wyndham site has not said a shuttle has been available for over as year. Someone should correct or delete the mis advertising. We cancelled our future reservation at this hotel.

Had to clean up vomit, no room service for towels or sheets, no tv remote, smelled of marijuana, when reporting to front desk was told to deal with it. Never would I stay here again. I would not even stay here if it was the last motel on earth I would take my chances outside.

Choice Hotels listed this hotel as having area shuttle service. Not so! The clerk argued with me that the Google site clearly states no area shuttle and has this notice posted for a year. I found the room hot (no ceiling fan or air conditioning). No clock or radio.

Professional staff. Blighted area but not too far from the average for Ketchikan. Regular characters in the building and area using marijuana, selling drugs. Building in need of renovations but again not too far from the Ketchikan neighborhood average.

The people first offered safe keeping of our bags @ early check in and when we returned they were thrown into a storage closet. There were no cups in the room, no screen on the 3rd floor window, no ice, no plug in for the coffee maker (had to unplug the microwave), and the location was behind a Saveway store.

we were advised by every local person we talked to not to stay there because of bedbugs cockroaches and drugs being delt in the hallways. we went by there it was not very well lit and looked dirty unfortunately we went and payed a premium for a last minute alternative . so i ended up paying for two rooms. Orbitz should be careful who they endorse or represent i have always been satisfied with orbitz until now.

The staff were really trying to go above and beyond. They are limited on what they can do with an aging property. The bedding was fresh and the bathroom clean but the rest felt dingy at times. This place needs some love.
