Clean and friendly place to rest
One of the many trips to this hotel. Staff is friendly and dillingent. Rooms are clean and quiet. Spa and gym are OK. I wish that there will be more vegan options for breakfast.

Would stay again.
Nice location close to parks and city center. Basic breakfast you can expect from Scandic. Good gym and they also have a pool. Free parking!

Hotel building itself is probably from 80'es but rooms and restaurant are recently renovated and in excellent condition. Hotel is directly at lakeside and short walking distance from harbour and about an 1km fro marketplace.

Good but not the best.
Nice clean Hotel, although age is starting to show up at the premises. Poll and sauna at hotel. Room was clean and quiet, but with 2 kids there was not a lot of room. The hotel is little off the city centre, about 20 minutes walk away. Rentable scooters at hotel. 4.90 euro / 30 minutes. A little expensive considering the age of the hotel but good stay. Breakfast was a rich buffee table.

Peaceful place by the lake
Lovely room with a lake view. Nice surroundings for walks by the lake and 10min walk to city center. Good breakfast but we did miss having fresh fish in the breakfast table. Friendly staff.

Perfectly located for whatever you are planning to do in Kuopio. Nice rooms, perfect breakfast buffet (you find all you need and it is freshly prepared).

Clean and warm
Nice, clean hotel with very friendly staff, close to the city and not far from Kuopio University, food was good and staff speak very good English.The hotel has a small indoor pool, sauna and a Jacuzzi. There is a small gym as well but I didn`t use it. Good running areas near by close to the lake, then continues into a green area.

Quiet location by nice lake
Decent hotel about 20 minutes walking distance from the city center. The hotel has a path in the back alongside a nice lake also seen from breakfast room. Breakfast is good. Hotel room was fair size. No-frills bathroom has everything you need. Staff is pleasant. Gym is decent.

Great hotel in Kupio
Stayed here a week for business. Hotel has nice breakfast, good location right on the lake. Also has a gym, pool and sauna. Good service. There are 2 grocery stores within walking distance. The only thing I missed having is a bathtub. Restaurant with bar and you can eat in the bar which is nice and takes less time.

The breakfast at Scandic Kuopio was beyond expectation, especially for an "included" breakfast. A lot of choices, gluten free, no or low carb, fresh and organic, whatever you want - they have it.

Great breakfast, no double bed.
No option for a double bed was somewhat frustrating however the rooms were clean and comfortable enough. Clearly business travelers would be at home and the sauna was a relaxing addition. The breakfast was among the better hotel breakfasts I have had, that is a definite recommendation.

I have been in almost all hotels in Kuopio and overall I can say that I prefer to stay in this hotel next time I go to Kuopio. The location is very nice, right besides the lake, and the staff are kind and helpful. It takes 10 minuted walk to the city center, which is OK as you will pass through nice parts of the city. However, if you are planning to go to Kuopio in the summer and would like to taste the nature of Finland, this may not be the best choice as the swimming pool and sauna are quite limited compared to hotels which are farther from the city, but are equipped well for such occasion.
