I booked a room for my daughter to spend with her baby on her first birthday. I was away in the UK and asked the lodge if they would be able to put roses and champagne etc. in the room. And leave a birthday message from me. Lisa provided it all and made it so special for them. And had balloons and cupcakes with candles at the breakfast table. I’m so thankful to her! She went above and beyond what I expected. My daughter said it was the perfect setting to spend her daughter’s first birthday. And although they were only there for 2 nights, she felt so rejuvenated. And the meals were excellent! And the staff were so welcoming. Thank you Hilton Bush Lodge!

Secluded quiet bush experience
I wanted a secluded retreat to get some peace. This is the perfect location to relax and unwind. Nobody bothered me, the owner/manager went out of her way to accommodate me over and above what was expected. Even booking a fabulous Thai massage for me. I even got some free advice on life which I really needed.

Good venue, safe, clean etc... Neg. Noisey!! So much noise comes from the other rooms, walls so thin and floors carry the noise badly. Poor design/layout, made for a terrible nights sleep in whats supposed to be a peaceful venue. Please don't think the noise comes from bad behaviour or loud neighbors, just turning off the light in the room next door is like a herd of elephants.

Dear Alex - thank you for your constructive review, I am going to chat to the owners and see if there are ways to dampen the sounds from other rooms. It really is frustrating when you can hear more than normal noise. Other than that I am glad you enjoyed the lodge and do hope that if we can sort this out you will return and enjoy a sunset from the deck. Regards Kate

The lodge needs to be upfront about the power cuts and dirt road, there were differences from the website and the reality.

Excellent property. Horrible Staff. The person that checked us in was so condescending and disrespectful. It’s as if we were homeless people begging for accommodation. No body deserves this type of treatment.

Very convenient
Very convenient stay in order to attend a function at Hilton College. Only negative is that there is no fridge in the room

Not all bad
Comfortable clean neat and tidy. The only problem is that you apparently need to let them know before 13 midday that you want to have dinner there or not. Surely this should be advertised on the website? Also, if you want a cold beer after a long day, please have cash with you. They apparently were not accepting credit cards.

Hidden Gem
This was my second stay at Hilton Bush Lodge. I will always stay here when doing business in Hilton. The views are spectacular (you can even see a waterfall). Extras with the coffee add a cute touch. The service is exceptional and the rooms are modern, comfortable and spotless.

Fantastic getaway
Brilliant getaway, quite, beds are comfortable, rooms is very well equipped and underfloor heating was such a bonus.

Amazing view, very nice room. Only inconvenience is the heater wasnt working and it got a bit cold No wifi in the rooms so not the best when travelling for business but other than that i had a very pleasent stay

The perfect escape
The Hilton Lodge is the perfect escape if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing break. There is very little to do there, with a lack of any entertainment or a restaurant you can find yourself quite restrained occasionally. There is also no WiFi in the rooms and no hike to the waterfall as advertised. Nonetheless the rooms were pleasant and the landscapes were beautiful.

A beautiful location and the rooms are Super
The most difficult part about our stay was finding the location of the hotel. Google was useless and the same for the car GPS. You must use the map off their website. Once there, however, you will find a beautiful oasis. You can hear the waterfall in the back the rooms are perfect.

The room was new and well furnished and had lovely views. The linen was excellent and we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. However, there was no hot water and there was no-one able to fix the problem ; the swimming pool is under construction and was full of muddy water; the roads were covered in thick mud in places, there was no paving in the pool area; there was lack of ventilation in the room as we were nervous to leave the sliding door open at night. The place will be nice but it has opened way too early and before it has been completed.

Thank you so much for your valuable feedback which is so important to improving our service. I am so sorry to hear about the issue with the hot water and ventilation - unfortunately I don't have the details of when you stayed to make further investigation. We do have staff on the property to rectify maintenance issues so it would be helpful for me to have more details so I can see why this was not the case. Our pool was constructed some time back but a request was made for a summer gazebo which is what is currently being added. Our ethos at the property is to keep as much of the surrounding bush and natural habitat we can to create a relaxing atmosphere - but one which is within easy reach of the city. As such we do sometimes have summer storms which cause havoc with our swimming pool. We are in the process of planting lawn grasses under the natural thorn trees to help prevent this. Once again your feedback is really appreciated and we hope that you will be back soon to see how we have improved. With best wishes Ken

Prachtige lodge op een perfecte locatie.
De lodge is te bereiken via een goede gravel road. Let op! Gebruik niet Google Maps want die leidt je over een afgesloten privat road. Het ligt ongeveer 5km van het stadje Hilton. De lodges zijn in nieuwstaat. Wij zaten in de Guiney Fowl lodge. Een prachtige huiskamer met houtkachel en schouw. Er was WiFi beloofd middels een router maar omdat het gebied afgelegen ligt is de internetsnelheid zwaar ontoereikend. Een goed ingerichte moderne keuken, bijkeuken met was- en vaatwasmachine een aparte tv kamer en extra badkamer en een prachtige slaapkamer met aangrenzende badkamer. Voor is een braaiplek en achter een prachtige veranda met uitzicht op de watervallen en een jacuzzi.

Dear Hans Thank you for your feedback - we are so glad you liked the Guinea Fowl Suite. It is certainly one of our favourites! The Google Maps issue is a big headache of ours - one which we have tried to rectify on numerous occassions with Google Maps but to no avail! We are sorry about the poor WiFi speed - unfortunately remote locations in South Africa do not have the infrastructure as yet for high speed internet but we do hope it will come soon.
