This location isn't exactly in the hub of things but I went to Durban for business so the location was perfect for my needs. The hotel is across from a beautiful park so each morning I ate a lovely breakfast looking onto the greenery. It's a quaint hotel with only 20 rooms but because of this, service is very attentive.
Most people in the comments scoffed at the shower being in the bedroom but it was actually a smart move. Had the shower and sink been walled off, both the bathroom and bedroom would have been extremely cramped. This opened everything up nicely.
As I said, service is very attentive and pleasant. Be aware that room service is not available round the clock. I believe they stop taking orders at 8:30PM for a final service at 9PM. This is important to know if you are jet-lagging on your first day in the country or arrive back to your room after the cut-off time. The staff were kind enough to call me in my room on the first night of my stay to give me a "last call" for dinner. I was very grateful b/c had they not done so, I would have gone to bed hungry (I traveled 35+ hours from Texas and was exhausted). I had the 200g steak. OMG, it was huge and delicious. There are delivery services around so you can always call up dinner if you miss the room service time.
Bring slippers for the carpeted floors in the bedroom. I was there for a week and they could use a good vacuuming and honestly, probably a shampoo. Otherwise, this place ranks highly on my list of hotels.
