Best stay in my journey through Greece and Italy!
Exceptional stay! This was my best stay through Greek and Italy over the past 2 months. Great location, an easy walk to San Giovanni Train Station, the lake and the town centre. Both the room and the were exceptionally clean and nice and spacious. Shower had good pressure and hot water. Bed and pillows very comfortable, very quiet, great sleep. Charging points and light switches in good convenient locations. Staff friendly and helpful. Would defend stay again and highly recommend!

Angenehmes, kleines Hotel. Freundliches Personal. Gutes Morgenessen mit vielen Früchten. Lift im Schnecken Tempo, es hat, zum Glück, nur zwei Stockwerke 🙂 Safe befindet sich im Schaft, am Boden; mann muss in die Knie um es bedienen zu können.

A lovely little hotel. Wonderful staff. Clean room very roomy and cute in design. A short walk from train station (if you have lots of baggage use sidewalk to the right). Breakfast was very good. Walkable to Como Centro and ferry. Would definitely stay again. Stayed 2 nights wish we had longer. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great find in Lake Como! Front desk and restaurant staff were very helpful. Location to the train station and town is perfect. Off the beaten path but super convenient. Rooms are really large and bathrooms are a good size too.

Our check-in experience at the Hotel Borgo Antica was initially ok. The room wasn’t ready, which was fine. We requested 3 separate beds at check-in, which the attendant confirmed. On return that afternoon, the room wasn’t set up as requested and we were told it would be changed in the morning. The front desk people went to great lengths to “prove” that my request wasn’t in the reservation. Then, the attendant reiterated that the room would be change in the morning and offered a bottle of Prosecco for the trouble. A few minutes later, I received a telephone call saying the room set-up would be changed but there would be no Prosecco. “The customer is always wrong,” I guess. Realizing the absurdity of that statement, the attendant did offer a glass (not a bottle) in the end as the room set-up was being changed. One more thing… I have traveled extensively worldwide for business and pleasure and never was asked to “pay the bill” at check-in.

Dear Nadia,We are very sorry about your review.The staff is always attentive to the customer's needs and unfortunately our receptionist, mistakenly, forgot to change the bed layout which, as booked, was in a different way. Our housekeeper was called promptly and arrived outside her working hours to arrange the room as you requested. We offered you a glass of prosecco and not a bottle because, in the end, instead of waiting until the next morning to change the bed layout, you waited an acceptable amount of time considering that our housekeeper does not live near the hotel. The Reception also apologised several times the next morning. Apologies which were appreciated by you. We still regret the misunderstanding. Regarding payment at check in, it is our hotel's policy to charge at check in. We are sorry that you found it offensive, but it is our policy. Sincerely,

Belle chambre, excellent service et déjeuner!
Le service était impeccable et en plus la femme à la réception parlait parfaitement le français. C’est à une distance raisonnable de la gare à pied avec nos valises et pas très loin du port. Le déjeuner était tellement bon! La douche est étroite. La chambre était charmante et spacieuse.

Charming hotel. So close to the train station. You should contact hotel for walking directions since cabs are scare. The breakfast was very nice. Within an easy 10-15 mins walk to center city & ferry station. Great restaurant next door.The staff are great! They are friendly, helpful & professional. If we ever find ourselves visiting Lake Como again we will surely stay here again.

Great hotel with convenient location to centre of Como. Modern facilities and really friendly staff. Only 'complaint' would be we were given a ground floor room which was close to reception. It was slightly noisy at times and the cleaner was back and forth to the cupboard near our room a lot which was noisy especially first thing. Would definitely stay again but request to not be on the ground floor

Fantastic hotel in Como! Perfect location as short walk from train station, lake and town center, restaurants, shops etc. The hotel and rooms extremely clean, comfy beds, great shower. The breakfast also very good. Staff are fantastic and extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend and will definitely stay here when we come back.

The front desk had three attendants. Ilia and Luca specifically were very helpful. The Expedia website advertised lake view from the hotel property with a photo labeled as such. Illia believes Expedia posted the photo in error. We based our booking decision to a large extent on that photo. Ilia made sure it was removed from the Expedia website. A few suggestions: There should be a refrigerator in the room. There should be more than one one chair in the room, as there is no place to sit but the bed. Lack of soundproofing which we discovered via lots of noise from above every night. The advertised “Terrace” was closed for renovation. Positives: -The hotel and room were very clean -The breakfast was good and the breakfast staff were very efficient. The air conditioning worked well. The front desk staff, specifically Ilia and Luca, were great and they gave us some complimentary drinks due to the lake view confusion. The room was well decorated.

This is a lovely boutique hotel. High-end bathroom fixtures and pretty little rooms. Breakfast is amazing with lots of choices for everyone’s tastes. Breakfast staff are efficient and friendly. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel.

Watch the fine point
Arrived to find no fridge in the room, which for a diabetic partner who needs medication refrigerated is disappointing. Had to chase up toilet paper on the third day. Nearby restaurants not open on Sunday and Monday. Worst was the proposed 200 Euro taxi fare to Milan airport which steadily grew as our day progressed. That’s $331 AUD on today’s rates. Left early and caught the train costing us a night’s accommodation. No thanks!!

Dear Steve, thank you for your feedback. If guests want to put products in the refrigerator we can put them in the fridge in our kitchen, without problems. Unfortunately, as you can see during the booking process, the fridge in the room is not a service indicated among those we offer.On Sundays all restaurants in the hotel street are open. On Mondays only a couple of restaurants remain open but in any case in the center (10 minute walk) there are hundreds of restaurants open every day of the week.As for the taxi, we are a small 3 star hotel that does not offer a shuttle service but the train station is a 5 minute walk away and we can book private transfers on request or call the general taxi on the spot.I'm sorry that you didn't feel comfortable in the city of Como and that you didn't find the services best suited to your needs.Thanks and best regards,Sara - Reception

A modest hotel on the outskirts of Como - some fifteen minutes from the Duomo, which is a long way by local standards. The services are very basic and breakfast rudimentary, but it is handy for the railway station, and the rooms facing away from the street are very quiet. Air-conditioning works well, so you do get a good night's sleep.

Disappointing experince; compared to other 4 hotels I stayed in Italy, it is the worst! I saw many walking ants on the floor of my room, they had only one small garbge bin (located in the bathroom), the towels are old, one of them even is wearing off and had cuts on it, no table to put your luggage on (had to put my luggage on the floor to open it), no safe locker,... and other! The only good thing about this hotel, it is close to the train station, like 8 mins!

Easy to get to and from the train
We chose this hotel because it was reasonable and close to the train station. It was also only a ten minute walk into the center of Como, so very convenient. The air conditioning was wonderful and the shower was also great. There were some areas that had cobwebs in our room and some mold around the corners in the bathroom. The staff at the front desk were wonderful and so helpful! The breakfast was good and worth the money. Great cappuccino!

Very nice hotel just a short walk down from Como S Giovanni railway station down a flight of steps and then turn left.Plenty of restaurants near or you can stroll down to water front which is not far.Dont need a car ferry pier on front .Enjoyed this hotel,staff very helpful good breakfast Italian style.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The staff was very helpful with recommendations around the area. They were also accommodating at all hours which was nice. The breakfast was perfect and just what you need to start the day. The room was super clean, charming and had a lot of Italian character which made us feel like we were really on vacation. Can’t say enough good things and really hope that we are back in the future.

10 min walk to ferry and all the shops, restaurants etc but on a quiet street and close to train station. Great breakfast and front desk staff very nice and helpful. Clean room with good showers.

Bästa duschen på tågluffen.
Bra läge vid tågluff. Mycket skön dusch. Mycket frukt på frukosten. Mysig gata med flera restauranger. Inget kylskåp på rummet och lite trångt att äta eget mellanmål på rummet. Ingen balkong.
