Our experience overall was amazing at Alder inn. The room was clean, warm and very spacious. We loved that stores were walking distance and the drive to the slopes was less than 10 minutes. The parking was very easy also, we were able to park right in front of our room. The manager was by far the best part. He was so sweet and so quick to respond. We ended up getting upgraded to a king room, extending our stay and having late checkout all thanks to him. Definitely a 10/10 experience :)

Very cute and cozy place, specially for the price. Everything is modern and up to date, there's spring water on the tap and the heating is very good. Checking in is very easy since you don't need to do it in person and the doors don't require keys but use code locks. Sam, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly! I will definitely be coming back any time I'm visiting south lake and highly recoomend it

me and my boyfriend came here for two nights and loved our stay. we got a complementary upgrade to a king bed and received texts checking up and asking if we need anything. the staff was very kind and the heaters we could turn on and off kept us super warm. we were able to walk to a sushi restaurant and down to the water from our room our first night, would definitely stay here again!

Nice and cozy
Room is clean. Owner responds quickly. Free ski run shuttle stop to California lodge is just 50 meters left hand of inn. Fresh market and restaurants are all within walking distance. Very convenient location. Transportation to hotel.Take airporter at airport to Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe, then take Safe Taxi or uber for 5 minutes driving to get there.

Nice room, 3mins from the resort, many dining places, not far from plazas and grocery stores. Quite, clean room, easy check-in, very nice staff.

It was easy to show up late as needed. Clean and comfortable… the only improvement I would suggest is having actual sugar for coffee. Otherwise great

We had a wonderful stay at the Alder Hotel. The management was super kind. They were so attentive to any request. We felt very safe here. Great neighborhood for walks. We will definitely be back for another stay.

The mattress is so old that it has the imprint of the many previous bodies that have slept there . The room was very nice and clean .

Stayed S-Th. Older property under new management (ownership?). Clean, mostly quiet and reasonably priced for the area. Initial problem with keypad, but once that was resolved felt safe as woman traveling alone. Responsive staff. Somewhat limited parking. Microwave, fridge, fans in rooms. Wall air conditioning in upper rooms. Don’t expect the Ritz and you won’t be disappointed.

Family friendly with outdoor seating and game areas. Newly painted inside and decorated under new management that has more improvements planned. The pool and spa is empty and overgrown.

Clean and comfy
Family trip for three days. Hotel was clean and comfortable. They had fans in the room but are putting AC units which will make it even better. Loved the little patio setup and yard games. The rooms has fridges, microwave, and a Keurig which was great. Only request would be able to stream on the TV. Thanks for the stay!

This place has no A/C -do not stay here if it’s 70 degrees outside. Also tv didn’t work and the bed was awfully uncomfortable. No one came to clean the room in between the days we stayed. And the soap in the shower was almost gone. Will not be staying here again during the summer.

Checked in & the room was at least 95 degrees. No A/C at all. Ceiling fan not on. Room was absolutely sweltering!! Called them immediately to voice concerns. Either I lose my money & book at high rate for somewhere else or stay and sweat through the night. Either option is not good. I am disappointed that the 'no A/C' wasn't brought up when I booked as I would have stayed somewhere else. It's a cute place but summer traveler beware!! If you want to be cool, don't stay here.

Not our best choice
Through a series of circumstances we ended choosing this motel. Location is decent but that's about the only positive. We were in Tahoe with 80+ degree temps and this place has no AC so we get to our room and it was 85 degrees inside. That was rough. The pool is now an empty concrete hole with a fence and weeds all around it. They have an ice machine, but it is only there to collect dust. They also have a front desk, but nobody was ever there. I think somebody runs this place remotely somehow but it shows.

The place was just what we needed. Nothing fancy, but a nice place to stay. My kids played corn hole and enjoyed the quiet streets. I Check in was super easy. I would def stay again.

Very helpful and attentive staff, but the rooms do not have air conditioning. They have gas heaters that cannot be fully turned off, even in the summer, which makes the rooms uncomfortably warm in the summer.
