Very comfortable room and outdoor seating area which was just what we needed after 3 weeks camping. Very clean and well-appointed. Check-in was a breeze and helpful. The owner gave us a map and recommended several activities and sites in which we were interested. I highly recommend The Lake Motel.

Always love staying here, as it’s peaceful and the decor in each room (we have stayed in a few) is unique and well curated. We love the retro, mid- century vibe and the rooms are always immaculate and accommodating. They have everything you need and the motel is peaceful and secure. The best part, they are dog-friendly, which is super rare and such a relief, as it means we can keep our two pups with us on holiday. Amazing option which we are grateful for. Will definitely be back and our preferred place to stay when in Taupō.

Comfortable accommodation, central location
Comfortable, clean and reasonably priced motel unit in a central location, close to the shopping centre and a short walk to the lake. Nice manager.

Lovely stay
Lovely boutique motel, we had our own little detached room at the back of motel, it was a comfortable twin room, nice and cosy. A short walk to the lake & not far to walk into town. It's great that the motel is also pet friendly. Would stay here again.

Excellent little motel, great value! Rooms very clean, tidy, and spacious, older but well-maintained. We really enjoyed using the loaner bikes for free. This isn't a sparkling new luxury hotel, but is a very comfortable place that is highly recommended, especially for the price! I definitely plan to return if we find ourselves back in Lake Taupo.

A very relaxing and comfortable overnight stay with a fridge to keep our food and drinks in and mini kitchen for preparing our own breakfast with coffee plunger for making that special brew. We would definitely stay here again.

We were there for an overnight stay so didn't use all the facilities. Roomy bathroom, small kitchenette where you could cook a modest meal or microwave them. Big comfy beds, we had a twin bedroom. Pool available. We sat by the pool for a glass of wine, lovely spot, too cold for us to swim though, weather wise.

Would like to stay again
Located within 5 minutes walk from the Lake shore, highly recommended for those who prefer silent and calm atmosphere. Though somewhat far from the town centre, it's Okay if car is available. (Enough Parking Space.)

Worth 11 out of 10 if it were possible
Excellent from the first contact. Clean, funky, great communication, well equipped, friendly. Just like coming home. Central, easy access. Can't fault it even if I think long and hard about it.
