A bit run by down and in need of some care and attention. No spare loo roll! Breakfast somewhat sparse and once you had booked for day one gut same again on day two - like it or not.

As my bus left before breakfast they made me a boxed lunch to take with me. Very nice people.

Lovely wee find and friendly atmosphere
Fantastic wee hotel and the staff are all superb. It’s right in the heart of Biggar so an ideal location for the surrounding wedding venues. It definitely feels like a warm family run business that cares about their guests well-being. Breakfast was pre ordered and freshly served after your teas and coffees. My only say would be, plan ahead of your visiting as parking is limited with it being a town square. Will definitely be booking in again!

Very lucky to get 2 parking spaces. Staff very welcoming. Room and bathroom very clean but the bed was too soft so not comfortable however accept that a very firm bed is our personal requirement. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice. well cooked and served. Short but very pleasant stay

Nice friendly hotel. Evening meal was wonderful. However, the breakfast (full Scottish) wasn't great....this could have been better.

Perfectly functional stay
Perfectly functional place to stay right next to the road to Edinburgh. Ideal stop off though I did get traffic noise. Happy with my stay

Great hotel in Biggar
Lovely wee break at Elphinstone Hotel. Staff all very pleasant. Breakfast was excellent! Room was lovely too .. but missed not having a window for fresh air! Second stay at this hotel and we will come back.

Overall hotel was fine food lovely good service , only fault for us was the bed bit small and far too soft it lacked support so not the best sleep but otherwise no complaints

This was a pleasant overnight stay, the room was lovely and clean. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. The one thing that was a bit of a shame was no vegetarian option on the breakfast menu other than to exclude meat, it would have been nice to have a vegetarian sausage or even some mushrooms as an option. We would certainly consider staying here again. Location fabulous!

Great stay with 5 star service, will be back!
We attended a Christening which was lovely. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Not only at the function, but the party went on so long the dinner was just as nice. Perfect steak. The room was ok, single room was only available. The only thing i would seriously report back is the kettle. When you boiled it, the kettle handle itself was really hot so i burned my hand when making tea. We were also asked to pre order breakfast straight after dinner which i am not a fan of, but when arriving at breakfast changes were allowed which i was so happy with. The hotel obviously really look after locals and the service was outstanding.

Brilliant place to stay and eat
Really nice, warm and homely Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and tidy, real wood fires and delicious food. Highlight for me was the soup. Thanks for your efforts.

Lovely stay
What a lovely little find this place was. Just needed one night’s stay to accommodate myself and my dogs, as I was attending a dog show the next day. It’s often difficult to find a place that takes dogs so willingly. Very pet friendly, and accommodating. I had a super room, which was more than adequate. I requested a bigger room (family) as I prefer space and that’s what I got. Huge room with large Double bed. Very comfy looking bunk beds in the corner if needed. Great large bathroom, which was in fact a wet room, so ideal for my dogs to be in, and nice and easy to keep clean and hygiened. Lovely and clean, comfortable, with settee, table etc. Went for an evening meal, and what a super menu that was, with everything you could want. Very pleasant breakfast, although has to be preordered the night before. This is primarily a pub and restaurant, and although nice and simple in decor and design it had everything I needed. The staff were beyond helpful and very pleasant. Indeed I had left my phone charger at home, and they provided me one to use overnight. I was even offered easier access to my room avoiding too many stairs with all my doggie stuff. Extremely good value for money and a bonus… no charge for the dogs. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a lovely stay. I’m only sorry I didn’t get staff names so I could mention them in person. Look forward to staying again.
