On arrival, the receptionist was lovely, we checked in. We were on the 3rd floor and was told the lift was broken. We got all the way up to the 3rd floor with our cases, to realise that we had come up the wrong flight of stairs for the room that we had (receptionist hadn’t informed us about the other flight of stairs). Landing/hallway leading to room stunk of vomit. Room was OK, bed uncomfortable. Next morning, shower was running cold, no hot water. Went down for breakfast at 9.15am, counted 4/5 staff, however all clearing tables and not one person stocking up the breakfast buffet. Stood for 10 mins with queue behind me waiting for any form of hot food to be put onto buffet, it was completely empty with no sign of kitchen staff topping it up, no staff acknowledging us stood there so had to ask if more food was coming. Had to ask for bowls, teaspoons, plate for toast, and clean cup for hot drink, as none of those were topped up either. For how many staff were on that morning, there’s no excuse for this, the buffet should be priority, not tables. Appalling service and for this reason I will not return. Was informed at reception that due to booking through hotels.com they would not be able to give me a refund, as it would have to come through hotels.com themselves.
