Good, clean, comfortable hotel. We were there for a Xmas party, food excellent, served well. Staff pleasant and bedrooms away from the main restaurant, so quiet.

Would stay again
The room was a little outdated but all was in good order. The bed was very comfortable, one of the best I’ve slept in for a while. The room was dark and quiet at night and the tv was massive. The kettle was fixed in a strange location low down, under a cupboard but that was the only unusual thing. The food was great, both evening meal and breakafast with a good selection of higher-end traditional pub food and the beer selection at the bar was spot on - black sheep on tap! Staff were lovely; polite, funny and attentive. Has a small but perfectly formed gym which I used. Was nice and cold in there, some hotel gyms are as hot as saunas….

Excellent choice of food for breakfast and evening meal. Well presented and full of flavour. Comfortable bedroom but lighting could have been better. Couldn't see to read with just the bedside lamp on. Very enjoyable stay.

A very pleasant experience
My 4 night stay to attend a wedding was extremely pleasant. Comfortable and very clean room. Friendly, polite and helpful staff who accommodated every request. The quality of the meals in the restaurant was superb with a good selection of items on the menu which was also based on locally sources produce. I would definitely book this venue again. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

Perfection throughout and great vale for money
Arrived at 9pm to a big smiling welcome at reception. Nice bar and restaurant. Superb double room, amazing large comfortable bed, large wall fitted TV and coffee table and sofa beneath. Quiet evening good sleep and in the morning an excellent breakfast wide choice etc. Excellent value.

The wedding which we were at was very nice. The garden room, areas of hotels and corridor were all fairly modern but very clean and tidy. The rooms, although comfortable, really need updating. It’s like walking back to the 80s.

Very good stay
Very good stay for a family wedding, friendly efficient staff, functional room. One small gripe is that the tv in the room would only show BBC 1 & 2, the picture and sound on all other channels broke up, i suspect this was probably atmospherics. Overall we would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing
I can't day i enjoyed being in a cold room with inadequate heating and workspace, the hotel photos are not representetive of the room i was given, some of the staff were plain surly and added little the warmth of the place, it didn't suit my needs though the food was enjoyable

Good business trip
I decided to go for a standard room, as it was within my company budget. The room I had was nice, clean and well maintained. My only gripe is the size of the bed, im 6’2”, my feet and ankles hung of the end of the bed. I think the bed was a standard double. I ate dinner in the restaurant and found the staff to be very friendly and the food was great! Breakfast was great too where all the cooked food was freshly prepared to order.

Ground floor room no steps so perfect. Staff very friendly and evening meal in restaurant was good. Could improve on there wine list and add some reasonably priced French wine. It does exist ! Breakfast was OK though the cooked at 8.45 looked as if it had been there for a couple of hours, instead of fresh. All in All we liked this hotel and will stay again

The room was comfortable. Could have been cleaner. There was no lights outside when coming from the function room back to the hotel. Staff were helpful.

I had no heating in my room, neither did my colleague. It was freezing. The shower was eitger scolding hot or if you turned it down slightly, it was freezing cold. So cold room to the point of shivering and cold shower on top of that. Breakfast was nice, however, I gave my room number. They went off, pressumibly to check my number off then I ordered breakfast. On check out they told me I had a room only rate. I did not realise this, so instead of reminding me at breakfast time, they instead charged me £10.50 for poached eggs on toast, not impressed! Evening meal was not good either, my colleague could not eat theirs. Other than that, ok rooms, ok gym and staff very friendly. Definately not worth the money, others have also said this after staying and I would definately not stay again

Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us. I'm sorry to read that you have been dissapointed with your stay. Your colleague did say that his heating wasn't on however when we attended the room it was because the radiator was turned off. We did not received a complaint from yourself that your heating was not working. If we had we would have moved your room or perhaps your radiator was turned off like your colleagues. £10.50 is the cost of full breakfast including the continental selection, juices and tea/coffee. This is a reasonable amount to pay or you could have had just continental for £7.50. Rates are very clearly stated on both your reservation confirmation which was made through Expedia and your registration card. The cost of your room was £59.04 per night room only which is I believe a very competitive rate for the area. I'm not sure who others you are referring to but as you will see from other reviews we have an excellent restaurant and hotel review score. Remote Hotel excellent value
Though I arrived later than expected the reception was good. Good choice of bar meals and good value for money. Room was what is expected. I was also allowed to use the bar area in the morning for a meeting with endless coffee

Nice place to stay
This was my second stay at this property - the room I had was in need of a spruce up, the furniture and decor would be described as being dated. The hotel is in the process of some building work, this doesn't seem to be disrupting the accommodation area, but i understand that some of the rooms have had some refreshing of the decor. On this stay I didn't eat in the bar in the evening, however I did have breakfast there - a nice (and slightly simple) selection, the hot food was cooked to order. All the staff members that I met were really friendly and helpful. I was working in Grimsby the following day, and the location here is ideal.
