The apartment was clean, spacious and had a beautiful wooden floor. We had plenty of space for all our luggage of two people. It was easy to shut the sunlight out, which provided a good night`s sleep and prevented the apartment from heating up too much. Moreover, there was an air condition to adjust the temperatur easily. The bathroom was a little small, but had a wonderfully large mirror. The shower was completely satisfying, with warm water running quickly. I was a tad disappointed in the equipment of the kitchen. Again, it was spacious and had heaps of daylight, but some very basic things like scissors, chopping knives and boards were missing. Anyway, I suppose we could have been provided with those things if we had called the staff, but we didn't. The cleaning lady came once in the 5 nights we stayed at the apartment, which was enough to my liking. There were fresh towels stored in a cabinet so we had the chance to change them ourselves. I read some guests complaining about how noisy it was. The front door closes in a very loud fashion and you can also here the neighbours' doors shutting. But I guess that's just the price you have to pay staying at old-ish buildings with that particular charme. The noise didn't bother me too much and I always slept really well. The location of the apartment is terrific! It's neither too touristy nor too far away from the center. We lived in a nice Portuguese neighbourhood with heaps of great local restaurants, cafes and a supermarket.
