We used The Waun Wyllt for an overnight stay when visiting family nearby for a birthday celebration. We were very pleased with the room initially which was Room 5 within the pub itself. However on closer inspection we were left disheartened by the quality of the mattress on the bed which was extremely poor and very uncomfortable. We awoke after a very restless nights sleep still tired which was a shame as everything else about the pub and the room was exceptional. Our breakfast was delicious and the staff were attentive and polite throughout. We recommended to the manager that the mattress should be replaced asap, we would love to return again, and hopefully have a more comfortable nights sleep.

Great overnight stay at the Waun Wyllt. Room clean and comfortable, staff helpful and friendly in nice quiet little pub, great choice of food on menu and meals always cooked to perfection. Great breakfast too. What’s not to like about this place ?? Already looking forward to my next business trip to Llanelli so can stay again

Lovely place to stay for an overnight business trip. Food was excellent, both evening meal and breakfast. Room set away from the pub, very spacious and comfortable. Will definitely be staying here again on my next business trip.

A lovely little find
After searching for a hotel that wasn't your average hotel, I came across the Waunwyllt and what a little gem it was. We arrived Saturday morning to be greeted by a lovely lady who introduced herself and showed us to our room. The room was light and spacious, however, I was slightly disappointed due to the photo of the room which was displayed on the booking had exposed stone walls and wood, which was one of the main reasons for me booking that specific room. However, our room was modern with no exposed stone walls :( . The en suite bathroom was finished to a high standard with a shower that was a little complicated to use. We explored the coastal paths which were at the end of the road and paid a visit to Kidwelly Castle, which was a short drive in the car. Having returned to the hotel, we ate in the restaurant for the evening and the food was amazing. However, was slightly disappointed when we were told that they did not have everything on the menu due to running out of produce. However, the quality on the food and the way in which it was presented most definitely made up for the initial disappointment. After food we sat in the bar which had a warm and rustic feel to it with lots of wood and stone walls and candles. Signal is poor but he WiFi was excellent. Overall, extremely happy with our little getaway and would most definitely return in the future.

This inn has been renovated in a modern fashion to its bar, dining room and accomodation. Having very friendly and helpful staff is a bonus.

Nice hotel in quiet area
Nice pub come hotel with a warm welcome. The room was in a separate bungalow that has been split in to 4 individual rooms. Plenty of parking and excellent bar/restaurant area that has been modernised to a high standard. Good value for money and great food.

Well decorated and great value food.
This is a reallly nice pub with rooms. I stayed in a room within the pub itself so there was some low level nosie from beneath. Everything is nicely done and the food in the restaurant is very nice and great value. Check in time is at 4pm but when I arrived the pub was locked, fortunately I managed to get a phone signal and the door was quickly unlocked. The room within the pub is accessed through staff corridors. A chair at the desk/dressing table would be a welcome addition. No breakfast menu either to look at to make a choice although the breakfast was very nice.

Great place to stay.
Great place to stay. Friendly staff that could not do enough for you. Great freshly cooked food. Had a risotto one evening and it was the tastiest that I have ever had, wonderful. Good warm room, good shower room and everything worked.

Good place
This place is very much out in the countryside (be aware that my iPhone sat nav didn't bring me to exactly the correct place) a lovely location. I was pleasently surprised with how nice the place was, the room was well designed (not loads of space, but plenty for if a couple were to share the room). I ate there both evening meal and breakfast - both were very good. Wifi worked well, the facilities were good and all in all a very nice place to stay.

Lovely inn, but the shower was difficult to use and hard to get the hot water. The bathroom had nowhere to put cosmetics, toiletries, etc. a bathroom cabinet or shelf would have been ideal

Beautifully renovated country pub
Beautifully renovated country pub. We were the only ones staying at the place on this particular night but we were made very welcome both for evening meal and breakfast. Both meals we excellent and the young lady that served in the restaurant and reception was a credit to the establishment. Can only recommend!

peaceful, quiet, secluded location
we wanted a few days away from work and noise and Waun Wyllt offers this in spades. Excellent cuisine and location. plenty of things to do nearby (walking, sight seeing) though for going to sandy beaches car access is essential.

The room in the main building was really lovely, really light and airy. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spacious and the shower was lovely! The only problem is that if the bar/restaurant is busy it can be a bit noisy late into the evening when they are clearing up (especially if it is hot and you need to have the windows open).

Very good standard of accommodation
Very happy with accommodation at this hotel. Everything looked newly decorated and fresh. I did not eat in the restaurant in the evening but the menu looked very nice. Breakfast was fine and service was good. Bedroom was a good size with very comfortable twin beds with good quality bedding and towels.

Loveky hotel. Friendly staff.
We had a super stay at the hotel. The restaurant was excellent. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The building has been tastefully and sympathetically refurbished. The only problem we had was making the shower work efficiently but Richard, the manager, immediately tackled the issue and left a note in our room so we would know what was happening. Highly recommended.

Lives up to its reputation
I was there on New Years Eve so joined in on the buffet but the restaurant was closed on New Years Day - very helpful staff in general and in suggesting places to eat. Nice that the rooms are in a separate building from the pub

Quiet location and a good find
Our one night stay was a good experience, even though out of seaon and with difficult driving in mist and fog. Well modernised with sophisticated decor to the bar and restaurant areas. Breakfast was well presented and of good quality and reasonable quantity. Rooms in the annexe are well appointed and also of modern decoration. Would suggest that if you are driving out of season you input main road travel to your satnav. Would stay there again.

Nice hotel out of town
Very nice hotel, the only down side is that the restaurant is closed on Sunday evening which means a trip into town is necessary.

Tasteful and comfortable hotel in restaurant and room. Only negative was the music noise which prevented me sleeping as it was loud beneath my room and unfortunately started again at 7.30 in the morning.
