Great place to stay in Callander
We really enjoyed our short stay in the family suite at Crags Hotel. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Large, comfortable, quiet rooms and lovely bathroom. Great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Great room and location
Room was very clean and comfortable. Good location and parking. Breakfast let down due to not being offered toast when order taken and when we asked for toast it appeared to be an issue although we did receive it

Truly a great experience. Nice room, great little bar and restaurant, and wonderful super service. Perfect location in downtown Callander. A picture perfect small Scottish village with fantastic outdoor activities. In all fairness the bar was a bit noisy until around midnight and did effect our sleep on a Saturday night. Sunday night was not a problem at all. Breakfast was excellent with outstanding service. Hope to return to Callander soon and and to The Crags Hotel!

Une bonne adresse pour un stop à Callander
Hôtel situé dans le centre de Callander et il est facile de se garer à proximité (les places dans la rue ne sont pas payantes). L'hôtel offre un bon rapport qualité-prix, le personnel est sympathique, les chambres sont propres et confortables, il faut toutefois noter que l'hôtel comprend un restaurant et un pub et cela entraîne certaines nuisances sonores (jusqu'à 23h00 ou minuit en fonction des jours). Le WiFi est disponible gratuitement dans tout l'hôtel. Le petit déjeuner est bon et copieux (buffet + choix à la carte à annoncer la veille au soir). Le restaurant est également très bon mais attention les places sont limitées et si vous n'avez pas réservé, vous risquez fortement de ne pas trouver de restaurant à Callander ou du moins vous devrez vous rabattre sur ce qu'il reste de libre... C'est malheureusement ce qui nous est arrivé le soir de notre arrivée et on aurait apprécié recevoir cette information de l'hôtel avant notre séjour (comme le font beaucoup d'autres hôtels de la région) plutôt que de se retrouver à chercher désespérément une table dans les autres restaurants qui affichaient eux aussi complet... Quoi qu'il en soit nous n'hésiterions pas à choisir à nouveau cet hôtel.

Sleepless in Callandar!
We enjoyed the breakfast and Fiona and her staff were really friendly and our room was a good size and was clean. The downside was the room had no views and unfortunately we had two sleepless / restless nights due to the very uncomfortable mattress and pillows along with really loud squeaky floor boards from the next door room!! There is a small busy bar at the front of the building which had a lovely fire but, the furnishings in there were very basic and there was' nt enough seats to go around.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Unfortunately we weren't able to rectify your sleeping issues as you only told Fiona when you were leaving. Our mattresses are specifically tailored for hotels and as you'll see from our countless reviews mentioning how comfortable the beds are, I think this may be down to specific taste or type of mattress preferred. I have one of these mattresses in my own home and sleep like a log. Our pillows are also tailored for hotels but we could have tried to find you alternatives, had you mentioned at the time, as opposed to when you were leaving. Unfortunately we can't try to fix things we aren't aware of until your stay has come to an end. Personally if I had one sleepless night, I would have asked to speak to management to prevent this happening for the second evening. Our bar is yet to be renovated/remodelled but we do receive a lot of positive feedback on how cosy and welcoming it is. As you'll have seen for yourself, it is very small so there is no room for more seating, people are happy to stand which is why it gets so busy. We also don't advertise having any views from our rooms, as we are located on the busy Main Street in Callander, not out in the countryside, all of this is specified at time of booking.

Super friendly people - staff and locals. Perfect location in the middle of town, terrific area to explore. Comfy room with good shower, en-suite. Definitely value for money and if we are back in the area we will stay here again.

Cosy hotel in perfect location
Welcoming check in with a stylish and tasteful room. Hotel is perfectly located for exploring the village and nearby walks. Breakfast was delicious and well stocked breakfast bar. Would definitely go back!!

Worth considering
Pleasant stay at this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was a reasonable size. Small hotel in size and car parking limited, although we were fine. Good breakfast. Traditional 'Scottish' bar with lot of 'locals'. Two larger hotels in town seemed to have more of an international clientele. We stayed Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and I was impressed that for a small town there was live entertainment (which I particularly like) somewhere in Callander each night, sometimes with a choice. Directions to the car park, which is at the back of the hotel, before arrival would have been helpful.

Breath of fresh Scottish air.
We have been to many Scottish (quaint) hotels and very often the work quaint equates to tired and over priced. So what a breath of good old Scottish fresh air. The hotel is clean, fresh and nicely decorated, good rooms well serviced. The staff are just the nicest people and most welcoming. Real value for money and a good laugh.

Creeky four poster but great breakfast!
Four poster bed old ,tired and creeks awfully every time you moved! To be fair this hotel only taken over this summer so they are trying to improve it's tired appearance. Dispite all that ,clean room ,a great breakfast and new owners very friendly.

Es war für uns nur ein Zwischenstopp. Aber der Ort und die Umgebung sind sehr schön. Das Hotel befindet sich noch in einer Umbauphase, die noch nicht abgeschlossen ist. Was schon fertig ist, ist vielversprechend. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet.

Le B&B semble vieillot et authentique, beaucoup de charme pour cette maison victorienne. Ambiance cool des patrons, bar animé et fréquenté au RdCh, mais bon pas de quoi nous déranger toute la nuit ! A pieds on peut aller visiter les Broclinns Falls, très belles chutes d'eau.

Comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff, but it all goes to waste if you can't sleep. The rooms are directly above the pub, which from the sound of it was very hospitable, but the noise from that and the subsequent cleaning meant noise until 1am. Not a great experience. I've seen some fairly nasty comments left by the hotel owners aimed at people who have left less than positive feedback. Am expecting the same.

Lovely traditional hotel - didn't want to leave!
We stayed in this lovely little hotel for two nights in August. Despite being a small hotel, our room was very big, with a huge bed and charming antique furniture. It was very comfortable too. Its location right in the middle of Callander is perfect, and we always got a parking space in the street right in front of the hotel. The bar in the hotel is very nice, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal and breakfast on both days in the restaurant at the hotel. Each meal were nothing short of amazing. We give this traditional hotel full marks and will be sure to return.

Petit hôtel sans prétention au milieu de la rue principale de cette ville triste. Chambre confortable pour deux personnes, lit à baldaquin, mais pas pour la troisième personne, le canapé n'offrant aucun confort. Ambiance animée avec moult bières au bar juste au-dessous de notre chambre N°8 donc beaucoup de bruit en soirée. Exiger les chambres de l'étage au-dessus. Restaurant décent, sans plus.

Nice little pub / hotel
Nice little hotel located right on the main street. Lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Friendly staff. Nice to have a little pub on the ground floor. Only complaint : we needed to leave early (7:30 so not really that early), but there was no breakfast available until 8:30. So a feeling of not getting something we'd paid for.

Contentment is important
Craggs was much as you might expect. A typical bar with rooms & food,& the staff were used to a certain clientel. My stay was for one night only & it served my purpose very well. Callender is in a lovely part of the Scottish countryside but you will not find the big players rushing to invest here.

I did not like bar registration setting, but the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was pleasant, the bathroom little less, because I could not figure out how to work the shower. I could hear the neighbors. It was great though to have just a few steps to the restaurant to have food after a long and tiring journey. And the food was great!

Excellent little B&B
The room looked like it could do with a lick of paint but it was perfectly clean and the bed was very comfortable despite not looking very appealing. In the morning the staff were so lovely at breakfast and when checking out! The hotel was right in the center of Callander and excellent value for money! Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Trossachs Stay
Room a little tired but very good for the price paid,had everything you would want including T.V.,Tea and Coffee and en-suite bathroom.Another reason we chose The Crags was it is dog friendly,they will even set up a table in a separate room for breakfast if you want your dog to be with you. The breakfast is very good,full Scottish or even smoked haddock or kippers as well as cereals,toast and tea/coffee etc. Will definately stay again when visiting family nearby.
