Our room was very musty with a strong odor and high humidity. I wouldn’t recommend this place for people with asthma or allergies. It is a very basic room. The location right on the beach is beautiful - you can walk right out on the beach easily, and the front desk staff was very nice.

There was a strong odor of cleaning agent, and then mold or moisture in the bathroom. The bed and kitchen are next to each other.

Dear Moiez, I'm sorry you felt that the room had a strong odor of a cleaning agent. Our staff takes pride in the cleanliness of our rooms as you will see from other online reviews. All our rooms are studios with efficiencies and we are a co-op, which means they are all individually owned. The room you stayed in has a newly renovated kitchen this year. The window in the bathroom helps with moisture from a hot shower, but I will certainly check the fan as well to make sure that is working properly.Best,Pam

Close to beach and had an indoor pool for rainy days. 3 restaurants walking distance. Room was recently renovated, beautiful with kitchenette and comfy bed. Beautiful bathroom.

I was in Amagansett for a job (I work at events) so I just needed a clean place to sleep and this was perfect. Room and bed was small but very clean. Many places in the area can be a bit musty but this room smelled good when you walked in and bathroom was updated. A bonus was that the outside area was very nice and quiet with chairs outside all of the rooms. Would definitely go back.

Property was very clean and had all the necessities needed for an overnight stay. Very close to the beach (within a few feet). The only negative thing I can say is the Wi-Fi was not always great but, not sure if it’s just the area.

Very good location and crew. I will likely come back. The crew should explain all available amenities and pecks to all guest, including where you can pack as a guest, the beach towels and umbrellas. Was surprised to see some with the beach tent/umbrella and I wasn’t offered one. And they ran out of beach towel on Monday morning.

Dear Isaiah, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we do explain to our guests checking in where to park in the front or back depending on your room. We also ask if you have stayed with us before or the area and if not we explain that we have chairs on the beach, towels, umbrellas available to sign out and what restaurants are close to us. Friendly staff, clean, basic with access to ocean
Charming hotel on the beach. No frills but everything you need like a fully equipped kitchen, efficient AC, Tv and a blind to close out sun for later mornings. Team at the property was friendly and accommodating and were quick to send more towels and also provided me a special beach towel. A perfectly chill place to renew after a long work day. Walking distance to solid restaurants- Morty’s, Best Pizza, and Goldberg’s. Def stay there again. Hopefully you can spot whales when going for beach walks!

Ocean Vista Revoew
The room was certainly adequate. It was “dated”, however comfortable. The bed was firm, which was a plus. The television remote didn’t work to get premium channels, however we could get basic cable tv. The lamp by the bed was very “tippy” and should be replaced. The property is set back from beach, so, no water view. It is a short walk to beach and chairs and umbrellas were on site. The location is excellent; right between Montauk and Amagansett! Price is steep, but most properties Out East are! We would stay there again.

The hot water in the shower was poor. Very difficult to find a good restaurant. We had to go across the area to a small store which offered bagels and sandwiches and coffee, that was our breakfast. The Point was lovely but where were the restaurants, very bad choice even though we drove around quite a lot. ended up ordering Italian in a small so-called restaurant, we had to wait outside for some time to be served in a box and it was really cold so we ended up taking it back to the room.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you thought the hot water was poor in the shower. If you could tell me what room you were in I would have our maintenance man look into it. To be honest this is the first time I have received a comment on our hot water. Goldberg's deli across from us is a popular deli for breakfast & lunch. We also have Best Pizza, Clam Bar, Lobster Roll & Morty's Oyster Stand within walking distance of OV. Montauk also has great restaurants.

OVR is a wonderful escape from every day life. The room was spotless and more than large enough for 2. The kitchenette was new and efficient. The shower was spacious and new as well. The deck area out side the room was a perfect spot to relax after a long walk on the beach. Sunset views were spectacular We will certainly be back!

Ocean Vista is a hidden gem! My husband and I have been going to Montauk for the last three summers and we have stayed at Ocean Vista every single time. The grounds are beautifully maintained, they have easy accessible grills and patio furniture for use and a well-maintained tennis court. The best part is the private beach that has easy access for all guests of Ocean Vista. My husband and I love going to Montauk and will be returning to Ocean Vista for many summers to come! My only suggestion would be to update the catering space on site. My husband and I take yearly vacations with a group of friends and we would absolutely love to spend that time at Ocean Vista using this large space for those reunion trips.
