The hotel was lovely. I loved the historic architecture. If visiting during the off season,be aware that little to no resturants or cafes are open. Very short walk to the sanctuary of Lourdes. Staff was friendly.

Wonderful Stay
The location to the Sanctuary is perfect. The entire staff is friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend this location for anyone traveling to Lourdes.

I did not like the carpet. The room is clean but is smelly. Also I did not like the beddings. I doubled the blanket and still freezing. Temp control does not work properly. They should use comforter instead of those old blankets. Carpet needs to be changed smelly. Location perfect

Property location is unique, it’s close to sanctuary and other shopping and dining attractions. The front desk staff is amazing, kind and very professional. It was truly wonderful experience.

Es un hotel en una edificación antigua muy bonita, cerca al Santuario. Tiene actualizaciones en su equipamiento, pero aun utiliza cobijas y cubrelechos fuera de moda que dan la sensación de poco higiénicos. La comida muy sabrosa.

All of the staff were exceptional. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and cannot wait to return. We did not plan to eat in the hotel but after our first excellent dinner from the a la carte menu ended up eating there every night.

This hotel is in great proximity to the Eiffel Tower. The tower was visible to my room. The staff was very helpful. I tried to speak a few French words that I learned which was not necessary as the staff spoke enough English. However, Celine who welcomed us during our daily breakfast was so helpful and offered suggestions. I only wished the hotel had money exchange for our dollar… which we needed on our 3rd day!!!

If you are going to Lourdes to see the grotto this is the closest and most convenient hotel. Across the street! Staff was very kind and I appreciate they spoke English. It is an older traditional hotel but we were expecting this so it was not an issue.

- The big problem was that the air conditioning system didn't work during our stay. It was very warm in the room (even though this was spring - May), which made it difficult to sleep. - Service was very slow in the restaurant in the hotel on our second evening. There were a lot of customers dining in the restaurant that night. So we could understand some delay. But the delay was really excessive. - It's absurd in France to serve orange duck without any orange. But the restaurant managed to do that. - The best part of the hotel is its location - very convenient. Staff at reception are friendly.

Malgré l’arrivée matinale, tout était prêt pour nous permettre d’accéder à la chambre. Tout le personnel est très professionnel, d’une très grande amabilité, très serviable et cherche toujours à vous arranger. Un seul bémol : nous avons trouvé le buffet petit-déjeuner plutôt moyen pour un hôtel de ce standing. Mais ça ne m’empêchera de revenir à cet hôtel lors de mon prochain séjour à Lourdes. Emplacement parfait, l’hôtel est absolument magnifique, autant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur.

The staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived until we departed. Paolo made us very welcome and Thierry in the restaurant was extremely welcoming and gracious. The building is exquisite and it felt as if one had landed into a glamorous movie set. It would have been nice to have had larger bottles of shower gels and shampoos as these were very fiddly and not luxurious at all. The hotel is 4 star and it looks luxurious but one can still be eco friendly by using glass bottles in the bathroom that can be refilled rather than plastic bottles attached to the wall that are not always easy to use. Tissues in the bathroom would have been lovely also; the little touches seemed to be missing in the rooms while the front of house was excellent. A complimentary bottle of water by the bedside is expected these days and the bottle should be glass not plastic. The food in the stunning restaurant was far below our expectations for French cuisine but what we did have was delivered with HUGE smiles. I look forward to returning to the Grand Hotel Moderne again soon. It was so convenient and the views from our balcony were very pleasant indeed. Overall my friend and I enjoyed our visit very much and we wish the Proprietor Joseph and his team continued success with all they do at the Hotel. It is a GEM in Lourdes. Merci to Ines for her help and warm departure and the bottles of water for our trip.

Run-down.
Hotel rooms were run down and old. We had a Master Suite which was very dated. Hard to get service at the bar as they were under staffed. Paulo at check-in was very good.
