We were at Madigan while having our floor replaced at home, so we were very happy to find a pet friendly property in a nearby location for 3 nights. The cottages are in a delightful setting with acres of manicured lawn to walk around and 2 pretty dams, although our view was interrupted by a massive treatment plant which could easily be hidden by some low shrubs.
Money needs to be spent inside and out and the tariff could still kept reasonable. There were old and rusting vine supports with no vines outside our cottage, Cellar Door, and an archway for climbers in the same condition. Inside the bed and pillows were quality and comfortable and the shower was lovely, full and instantaneous. I only give 3 stars for cleanliness because there is a leaky pipe in the kitchen with water flowing down to the sump, and a general somewhat griminess. The keycode box fell off when we tried to get in the first time, but the key came down with it so we weren't locked out. It seems the previous guests had broken it, but we were not told in advance.
But, the cottage met our needs. We would have been a bit disappointed if it had been part of a holiday trip though. Rating the hotel staff was not possible as the owners and staff are off site, so I gave that 3 as well as it is a required field.
