I’m not really sure how to review this property. We booked it last minute as a short stop over en route to Airlie so didn’t need it to be anything special. It’s pretty basic but priced well for what it is. The issue that put a dampener on the experience was I guess the service.
On arriving at 8pm after a 5 hour drive (check in closes at 9) I was informed my room had been cancelled as the card payment hadn’t gone through, they recited the numbers of a card I wasn’t familiar with, but they advised they still had the room so I could pay now if I wanted to. I paid cash and checked in. On getting into my room, and attaching to the WiFi (as had no data on my phone previously) I saw I’d had a message from the motel an hour before through the 3rd party site I booked on to advise the room had been cancelled as they’d double booked. Which is obviously not the reason why they advised the room had been cancelled when I arrived. I’m just thankful I hadn’t seen that message en route as I would’ve been scrambling to find an alternative room at 8pm. Then to top it off, I checked my bank account to find they’d taken the payment out of my account the day before.
The next morning they did issue me a refund on the cash payment when I queried it but obviously not the smoothest process.
