Hotel was very nice. We had a great corner room with large opening windows so felt as though we were outside. Had view of mountains and of the ocean. It was also very large by any standard. It is not ocean front, but that is not so important as there is no beach in Funchal and our room had an ocean view. Only slightly negative observation was lack of things one usually sees in hotels e.g. no water bottles, no lotion..But that slight defect was overwhelmed by the quality of the room.

Skulle inte säga att det är ett 4-⭐️ hotell, mer som ett 3-⭐️, väldigt hårda sängar. Frukosten var ganska bra! Men bra läge, några minuters promenad till citykärnan och Lido åt andra hållet. Everything about this hotel screamed comfort, a very enjoyable stay which was great value.the indoor pool was a particular highlight, along with the sauna. Breakfast buffet was vast.

Wonderful Funchal base for exploring
The hotel had a delightful breakfast, room, pool, spa, location. We were able to walk into town along a single flat road, There is also free parking directly outside the hotel. Slightly hard bed, but this can be forgiven.

Enotel Magnolia in Funchal does it right!
Great hotel with very friendly staff. I made request ahead of time and they were able to accommodate me. Thanks. Also I got early check in as the room was ready. Beautiful grounds with outdoor pool large patio and big heated pool/hot tub. Top floor terrace with 360 views of the surrounding area. Really one does not want to leave. One issue is the noise from the street level especially if there is a loud motorcycle passing. Overall minor issue. I would also appreciate maybe coffee tea making machine in the lobby as there is no kettle in the room. I like to drink hot water and going to the bar each time is not convenient. The room has a safe mini fridge that actually works and personalized message on tv upon your arrival. I thought it was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend that hotel. Also worth mentioning the airport bus stop is just on the other side of the street. 5 euros per person will take you to the airport. Easy and convenient. Bus stop #12 of the aeroport transport line.

Trevlig och effektiv incheckning även mitt i natten (hade förvarnat om sen ankomst). Mitt superiorrum var trevligt och rymligt med gott om förvaringsutrymme (”öppen” garderob, d v s utan dörrar) och ledig golvyta. Hade fungerat väl att dela med väninna p g a separata sängar (intill varandra) och ordentligt privat badrum. Mycket hård säng, vilket passar mig så jag vet inte om det hade funnits bäddmadrass att tillgå. Värdeskåp med plats för laptop. Kylskåp (tom minibar) och vattenkittel och kaffekoppar (men inte kaffe eller te). Trevliga allmänna utrymmen och utmärkt såväl frukost- som middagsbuffé förutom att såväl frukostkaffet som –juicen var precis så hemsk(t) som någon tidigare gäst anmärkt. Rent överallt och rummet städades varje dag som rutin. Hotellet ligger på promenadavstånd till såväl centrala Funchal (backar) som Lido-området (lägre backar) och nära allmänna kommunikationer men även om man åker buss är det en liten backe uppför sista biten (och därmed nerför när man är på väg från hotellet). Billigt att åka taxi från centrala Funchal. ”Step-free access” inom hotellet.

Hotel with 2 swimming pools, room very big and comfortable. Hotel very beautiful and clean. Staff kindly and always available. I advice this hotel

Great Hotel with friendly staff
Great Hotel with friendly staff and the possibility of an amazing ocean view from the room and if you aren't lucky enough to have such a room you can go to the rooftop balcony which is open to everyone. The only downside to the hotel is the absolute horrible coffee that is available at the breakfast buffet which otherwise is nothing short of amazing. It is however possible to order a great cup of coffee from the bar after the breakfast buffet closes or a bit before if you catch an employee prepping the opening of it :)

The walk into Funchal is 20min, slightly downhill and tiring when walking back uphill. Public transport is out side the hotel and also just near Reid's hotel.
