The stay here was the second part of a 17 day holiday in Gozo and Malta. On arrival we were allocated our room 404, it is advertised a superior room (that is in size only)!. It overlooked the sea as requested. Within 2 hours it became quite obvious that building work was being carried out very very closely. We reported the noise to the reception desk on our way out to find something to eat. The receptionist told us no work was being carried out! Went to bed, at 6.30am a hammer drill and banging again, a phone call to an irate receptionist "educated me" it was nothing to do with the hotel but she would ask security to look into it. At the end of the 3rd day we went to the reception again and was told nothing had been reported. We eventually spoke to a manager who was both rude and curt and in denial that it was a problem of the Hotels making, however it became clear that the hotel are aware of the noise but legally they cant stop the work from taking place from 8am - Clearly not doing their job, they could involve the police to stop the noise before 8am they just don't. Any way after 3 days we were moved a little further away but the noise was still obvious and still commenced at 6.30.
There was no air conditioning in the restaurant or common room areas, the indoor pool was closed for 5 days of our stay and the roof top "paddling pool" was closed for one day. The heat in the dining room at breakfast was unbearable.
Rooms clean and house keeping good.
The food was edible.
